Those applying to Harvard University, did you guys fill out the financial aid form? Also, do you know what factors they consider heavily to offer scholarships?

I filled it out before the deadline. I would assume they’re a mix of need and merit.

Emory is my top choice. It’s a phenomenal program, and on top of that I’m an Atlanta resident and that area is just so amazing.

Yes! I've heard many great things about the area and especially Emory! Would you say that living cost is fairly reasonable? Note, I live in Seattle and pay $1700 for a 400 Sq. Ft studio LOLOL.

whoa $1700?? I think apartment rentals are expensive everywhere (i.e., California, Boston, Seattle, NY, Florida)

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I'm only living here because of my dog--it was difficult to find an affordable apartment that would allow pets and was not extremely old. I know Boston, SF, NY, etc. are also crazy pricey, that's why I'm hoping Atlanta isn't too bad as Emory is my top choice at this very moment haha.

I only applied to Harvard (I know, I'm probably crazy). Still waiting to hear back from them; based on historical data (from this forum), they should start sending out decision letters by the end of the week.
Really? I was thinking it was late February to early March. I hope I am wrong though!

Agreed! I hope I'm wrong too, but I was expecting to hear back either the end of the 3rd week of Feb or the 4th week of Feb.

Living cost is very reasonable. You can get a very nice two bed apartment for $1700 a month, so with a roommate $850 a month.

Amazing! May I DM you? I have some questions regarding Atlanta, mainly about everyday life!

I think it depends on the particular program. CLE was released 2/7 last year, and 2/8 the year previous to that one (maybe because this one starts by summer). However, I called admissions today and they mentioned that they will probably start by the 3rd week of the month, as you have pointed out.

I got an email earlier today from the director of epidemiology and biostatistics at UIC letting me know about my admission to the program! I apparently have to be approved by the Office of Admissions for my admission to be official, but I don't think that should be a problem? I'm kind of unclear on that, though.

For those accepted to Columbia, Michigan, Yale can you share the Admitted Students dates?
I haven't heard back from these schools yet but I wanted to get a head start on requesting time off of work and registering for the other schools events, just in case.
Michigan is 3/14 and Columbia is 3/6 or 3/27

Did anyone else see this on their Mich MHSA portal???

“You have been recommended for admission to the University of Michigan School of Public Health by Health Management and Policy. Your admittance will become official upon certification by the School of Public Health's Office for Student Engagement and Practice”

what is the office for student engagement ??
I had this too! I got my decision letter the next day.

Has anyone, who heard back from Columbia, been admitted to their General Public Health 1 year accelerated track?

I am waiting. I applied for accelerated GPH track. I am little anxious coz haven't heard back yet

Hi guys, I am an international student and I was wondering if you guys have any info about job opportunities after graduating from MPH, especially in California?

Has anyone who submitted to Columbia by the priority deadline not heard back yet?
I submitted in November and haven’t heard yet! I’m not too worried at this point because it seems like different departments have different review times, I’ve seen a lot of EPI and SBS decisions but not many HPM yet.

Has anyone received a rejection from JHU MPH yet? Its been about 8 weeks since I submitted and am starting to get nervous.

true, the only thing is that I haven't heard of anyone getting a rejection until now, and I am guessing that they can only give out so many admission offers

As long as you didn't apply to one of the departments that have already begun releasing decisions I wouldn't worry. Even if you did, might just boil down to which group of applicants they put you in based on your submission and/or verification date.

I did haha, I applied for SMS and some people have already started getting accepted for that one. I'm just trying not to get my hopes too high. I know that my stats are very average and I already got rejected from Yale, so Colombia might not accept me either...

Jobs are available but H1B supported job is a issue. But, if you're backed by other visa status then do no worries other than your field related skills.

Is there a lack of employers that would support the visa? I am also an international applicant looking to work in California ideally

Not lacks but intention, policy and money required to allow that visa (H1B). MPH is not necessarily considered as STEM field except Epi, Bio, Environmental Science?lab science. Not even considered as Hard Science but soft science (easy to read and understand by all). Therefore, employers need to explain to ICE (US immigration Council) why this particular employee is must for US? Which is not compelling to ICE unless Epi, Bio and Env. Therefore. no H1B. Employers are also not interested cz money (10k) involved to issue such visa. Technically, you can pay the money though but, politically speaking, you know the current immigration issue in USA which I doesn't feel comfort to discuss here.
Other than that, check some universities: only in these university all the MPH programs are STEM supported and therefore 3 years of OPT status (3 years to stay in usa if you get job) compared to one year in other schools. But again, if you want stay in USA with job and h1b visa then go for MPH in Epi, Bio or Env. Otherwise, you will end up to go back in academia after 1 year for PhD or clinical/science degrees.
