I was accepted to Emory yesterday!!! I am officially convinced that public health schools truly take a holistic approach when looking at applications. I still can't believe it!!! :soexcited:

Idk! I never thought I'd get into more than one so having so many options is overwhelming. If money weren't an object, Colorado. But money is so I have to weigh everything!

Thanks! It seems like Berkeley is rolling out their decisions in trickles rather than batch sending them (at least based on when the people who've posted on here and Grad Cafe are receiving their decisions). Regardless of the decision, I just want to hear back from all of my schools so I can weigh my options. But I'm sure you're super relieved to hear back and have it be good news!

I emailed last week and got this:

"Deans Award (our merit awards) decisions are starting to go out this week. There will be a few rounds of decisions made. We have not had the initial round from HBHE yet. I anticipate they will be sent out next week."

I haven't heard anything yet. :/

Good news and bad news.
Finally got the UTH login info e-mail nearly 2 months after the acceptance mail. 🙂
On the flip side, it means no scholarship for me. 🙁

I am! Berkeley is definitely my top choice along with UW. Once I hear back from there, I can really start figuring things out (or, maybe, just go to Berkeley 😉).

I was going to ask if anyone else received the log in info for MyUTH after being rejected 🙂 I'm completely confused as to why i received it when i was rejected 2-3 weeks ago...

I was accepted (Austin campus) in December and just received the login info today. I logged in to check it out and it says my application is incomplete. Is anyone else seeing this?

Oh! No idea how that happened. Maybe UTH just spammed the same email to all the applicants? Either way, they need to step up their game. You should call them up and clear your query.

I found the lil note in there about receiving the login info "a few days after application submission" hilarious. I applied in mid-November, some of y'all applied much earlier and just getting the information!
I think it was sent to all applicants, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Totesk's issue w the incomplete application indicator after acceptance is more concerning, but they apparently take time updating?

After you applied to Oregon through SOPHAS, did they email you asking you to complete an supplemental application through their Graduate Toolkit Portal?
 
So much has happened since my last time on this forum, big congrats to all of the recent acceptances!

Last week I visited both UNC and Michigan for their respective visit days. Both were amazing schools with lovely surrounding cities. If there are any specific questions that any of you have about either visit I'd be happy to answer them on here or private message.
 
For those who got accepted by Emory do you have a pay admission deposit link under view online decision? I didn't get an email acceptance from Emory yet, but I think the pay admission deposit link is new. I don't know, maybe that's how delusional I am right now.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who's had the "Pay Admission Deposit" link appear is actually accepted! I didn't apply to Emory, so I can't be positive. I hope you're in. Congrats! 🙂

Good question haha at first I REALLY wanted to continue here in Berkeley, but I decided that a change in environment and different ways of thinking/practice in public health might be good. Just seeing a different perspective/serving a different community. I really love the school and the area and I've been in the Bay Area almost all of my life. I definitely plan on coming back to Berkeley SPH for my PhD. Also, as an undergrad it seemed to me that all my classes featured the same professors as guest speakers and eventually all the classes I took as electives blurred together and I was learning the same things over and over again - this is mostly because the PH undergrad major is fairly new. Hearing from current undergrads now, the curriculum has changed and there are now more opportunities/classes to take (like public health and social media!). All my GSIs and graduate students who I have worked with really love the school. As a graduate student you won't really experience the repetition though because you won't be taking a survey of all the introductory classes. Hope this helps! Congrats though!

For anyone applying to the MSPH at Hopkins--

Just got a phone call this afternoon telling me I was accepted into the MSPH in Health Education and Health Communication program! Was told I'll get a formal acceptance letter soon.

I applied back in November and was told my application was forwarded to the admissions committee in late January, if that's any help.
 
For people waiting on Michigan, try checking Wolverine access. Mine updated to show an acceptance around 10 am today. Health Behavior/Health Ed program, application verified 12/17. No e-mail or other communication though.
 
Just accepted to hopkins for the MSPH in international health - social and behavioral sciences. Logged into the applicant portal on a whim and there was the unofficial letter! Thought I'd let people know since it doesn't look like anyone had posted a MSPH decision yet! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! SO HAPPY WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!

Thank you! That is really helpful. I think that is very smart of you to want a change. I am from Idaho, so I think California will be quite a huge difference. I am particularly worried about cost of living. Did you live on campus?

Getting a change is great! I grew up in Florida and have since gone to school/worked in New England and the Midwest, so it would be a great adventure to head to California or Washington next. 🙂

Hey guys! Would love some advice if you've got it.

Berkeley's admitted student day is early next month and I'd love to go, but I think that I could only feasibly attend either Berkeley's day or Washington's day, due to taking time off work/cost of travel. However, I haven't heard a peep from UW (being fully aware that this makes sense, since it's still early in admissions season).

Do you think it would be unreasonable of me to write to UW and explain to them that I'm hoping to go west for an admitted day but am trying to make an educated decision about which to go to and ask when theirs is (and, perhaps, even find out about my admission status)? Is this too presumptuous? Do I just need to suck it up?

Any insight would be appreciated! Feel free to tell me I'm being ridiculous.
