This is so helpful! Thank you so much!Hi! So it was actually a super informal interview, It was more of a personal info session tbh. The person that I met with started with something along the lines of "we want you to lead the discussion with any questions you have" so I was the one that provided the questions really. The conversation went really smooth since I had a list of questions I wanted to ask but it did catch me off guard since I expected a more typical interview. Hope this helps!
This is really helpful. Thank you so much!! 😊The interview was pretty relaxed so my best advice would be to be yourself! The student asked me why I chose the HPM concentration, why I chose Columbia and any other questions I might have about their experience and such. The conversation flowed pretty well. Best of luck! 🤞
Just received this response from UNC - I'll just hold out hope that this means I wasn't fully denied from my top choice 😏Just checked SOPHAS and noticed a new app submitted under one of my schools to a concentration I indicated as my second choice. It was marked as "manual." Does this mean I was rejected from the other concentration? It was my top choice 😢
They should at least send out rejections then. How can there still be some of us waiting since November/DecemberTalked to the Director of Admissions for Yale. She said there was a 30% increase in applications. Also, I asked her when I could possibly hear back from Yale based on my application complete date (1/14), she told me either this week or next week. Just putting that out there, just trying to help 🙂
They probably have, people just don't talk about it 🤐They should at least send out rejections then. How can there still be some of us waiting since November/December
I took the least math routeFor any of you who decided on epi vs. biostats tracks for MPH programs, how'd you make your choice?
This is my theory: those of us who haven't heard back are on a tentative "waitlist." We haven't been flat out rejected yet. They'll send us acceptances if enough people turn down their acceptances. They should at least send out rejections then. How can there still be some of us waiting since November/December
we got some of us still out here. I am going 9 weeks and counting with nothing from Yale. They probably have, people just don't talk about it 🤐
I got an email with 2 letters – one with my acceptance and one with scholarships!Hey guys, for those who got into UIC, was there any mention of a scholarship in your acceptance?
I'm not a Columbia student so someone definitely correct me if I'm wrong, but I saw on Columbia's website that their total enrollment was 1526 (Facts & Figures | Columbia Public Health). So I think that would include ALL MPH/PhD/MS/etc. students of all years, not just one graduating class of only MPH students. But again, I could be interpreting this wrong so someone with more knowledge please comment 🙂Can anyone speak to the culture/opportunities available at Columbia? Columbia's MPH class size is 1526. Comparatively Yale's is 155 and Hopkin's is around 260. This seems a bit concerning to me as with such a huge incoming class, it would seem like opportunities for research or establishing close relationships with mentors might be more difficult. The last thing I want is to be part of a school where I'm lost in a sea of people and can barely find opportunities. Thank you in advance for any insights/thoughts.

I just asked my friend who is doing her MPH in HPM at Columbia right now, and she said her dept cohort is ~50 people. same! when were your apps sent for review?
Where did you get this information about Columbia? I've heard the entire MPH class is 400 students at most! Thank you so much for the clarification. Those numbers make much more sense!I just asked my friend who is doing her MPH in HPM at Columbia right now, and she said her dept cohort is ~50 people. The number varies by department.
edit: she said roughly 200-250 MPH students per cohort year.
Thank you so much for the update!! How were you able to get a meeting with them so quickly? I checked last week to make an appointment but all the slots were full for early this week. I want to confirm with them that they have mine to so i can rest easy haha. Also, not sure if you asked or if they told you but any news on when they'll send out financial aid award letters?Columbia financial aid updates!! Just had a meeting with them about general financial aid questions. I asked them about the SSN issue, and they told me that if you put your SSN in SOPHAS, you should be completely fine. It was just an issue of one system not updating the Mailman system with our SSNs. That will be happening soon. The financial aid officer actually confirmed that they had my SSN during the meeting, so all should be well as long as your SSN is entered in SOPHAS! 🙂
Hi, I'll PM you!I have my Dartmouth interview in a week and am super nervous! Any tips on what to expect? How'd it go?
I emailed with them last week and they said 3-4 weeks after acceptanceThank you so much for the update!! How were you able to get a meeting with them so quickly? You're welcome!! I totally meant to ask when they were going to send out letters, but I completely forgot by the time we had gotten through my other questions. 🙁 I am annoyed at myself lol.Thank you so much for the update!! I think there would be more acceptances. From previous years messages, it looks like decision/acceptances were given out till late Feb.does anyone think Yale will give out more acceptances or do you think it's all rejections at this point? Not to scare anyone else also waiting on a decision but just curious what others think
I sure hope there's more acceptances. I applied for the EHS MPH program and I haven't seen anyone with rejections or acceptances for that program yet... my top choice too and now rethinking personal statement and letters of rec (did they write me good ones?! LOL).I am

On another note, how many of you who got accepted into "higher" ranked schools such as JHU, Columbia or Emory think that, if they got into those then they would get accepted at Yale too (just based on ranking)?
For people who are awaiting their Yale decisions - did y'all apply to the normal MPH program or the Advanced professionals one? Just curious as I'm still waiting to hear back from the Advanced Professionals MPH program and its been a while....
Second, does anyone know how big the Advanced professionals MPH cohort is?
I have my fingers crossed for everyone. Hopefully we'll all be classmates next year.

When are you supposed to technically receive a financial aid package? After you commit to a school and putting down a deposit?
Hi! I applied to Yale's Advanced Professionals MPH Program-- SBS as well. Submitted on 12/14, received 12/17, and marked as complete/under review 1/20.For people who are awaiting their Yale decisions - did y'all apply to the normal MPH program or the Advanced professionals one? I also forgot and asked SOPHAS about it, they said that after you submit an application you can't update your SSN and you will have to contact each school individually.I forgot to put my SSN on my SOPHAS application - is there a way to add this? I tried to update my information but it doesn't seem to allow me to add that field...
Questions to consider:Tulane vs NYU vs BU. I dont know what to choose. lol
When did your application go under review?Accepted to Emory BSHES!
