I am 100% positive that Columbia admissions office is having a "crisis" meeting on resolving the issue and working towards making sure it does not happen again (hopefully). Most importantly working on how to address this publicly.

NYC just came out of a major turmoil from the pandemic. We've got to give the people a break.

That's fair, I think it's very easy and quick to find someone to blame, but that shouldn't be my first instinct :')
 
Has anyone received financial aid or scholarship awards from Tulane yet? I submitted the addendum the day they finally finished site construction, but I haven't heard anything in almost two weeks.

I received a $10k scholarship from Tulane with my acceptance. Not nearly as much as I would've hoped, because the school is still super expensive so I don't think it's enough money for me to consider attending : /

I logged in normally. Didn’t change the url or anything. Mine was still friggin the same page as last night...visuals look crooked, no names on the “congrats” or acceptance letter...idk what’s going on. Anyone else? Surprised not to see an email from them clarifying the situation...
 
so got no merit based scholarship from GWU - I'm a bit surprised and now sad ):. Should I call them and ask why? or if they have an appeals process - I was offered 35% at BU so idk if I can leverage that

Aww I’m sorry about that. Did they send you an email or you reached out and asked them? I haven’t heard anything yet so I’m getting worried

If GWU is your first choice, then you should absolutely appeal for it and mention that BU gave you some moola but if given a full-ride to GWU, you would commit to it right now. They may not give you the full-ride but maybe match or make it better than BU.

I'm not even sure what my first choice is but being in DC was up there but yeah I guess I can write an email out and attach my BU letter

Mine also seemed to not be changed at first. That was because my computer was opening the 2021admit url automatically. When i went back to the email columbia sent, and opened up the portal from their hyperlink, it was back to the applicant page.

If I open my applicant portal using the link provided in one of Columbia's email, it takes me to the app still in review page. I still have the admit page open on my phone and if I refresh that the page stays the same.

Yeah you’re right, I logged in through the link I I had in my browser history and it opened up the accepted page, but when I went back to the email they sent me and logged in through that link it’s back to the applicant page. Sucks cause I literally just woke up from a dream where I got into Columbia, I was getting an apartment with my best friend in NYC and everything lol

sent an email 😢 I am really waiting for JHU and Columbia now it's hard to go to a school that doesnt want youuuuuu
 
How long did it take people to get accepted to the Yale admitted students page?

didn't know about this but this, along with the glitch (and lack of statement/communication), makes me think they don't have the best interest in mind for their students / prospective students. 🙁

Getting an apartment in NYC, now that's an expensive dream!!! Glad you woke up pretty early 😏
 
For those who got accepted to BU, did anyone's portal not say that they got accepted initially but received an acceptance email anyway?

I got the email that my app was under review on 1/11 and haven't heard back since then, getting worried now 🙁

My SOPHAS portal hasn’t changed but my personal link says I did. it’s exploresph.bu.edu/firstnamelastname/landing/

Hey! Thanks. I actually was accepted last year but needed to defer for personal/Covid reasons. I heard back on 2/21 last year if that helps 🙂

I got my decision via e-mail. I didn't even know there was a portal for BU. Hang in there! Some departments might take more time to review the applications.

I am honestly shocked they didn't give you anything, your stats are so good!!! Definitely ask and see if there is anything they can do. But yeah apply for jobs in DC. A lot of companies here offer some form of tuition reimbursement so that can certainly help, if all else fails.

when my BU portal updated, I didn't get an official email for a few hours, closer to the end of the day! This was last week - Hope that helps
 
For people who are hearing back from BU on their portals today, when did your apps go under review? I'm debating emailing them again for an update.

Mine went review on 1/21, but it had been there since early January. I had to email them to say I knew my app was complete
