My GPA is low, but has shown a strong upward curve the past few years, ~3.8 average in 300 and 400 level courses. Those of you with low GPAs, don't lose hope! I definitely did not expect to receive admittance today...
I can share more of my info if anyone is interested, and congrats to everyone else who was accepted today!!

Perfect mcat. You had to wait 18 days to get accepted to MSUCOM. Wow. I'm sure you'll get into u of m. So u could just withdraw now lol joking congrats.

Thanks a lot. But it looks like its mixed. Some high overall gpa. Others have great above average Mcats. But it's a mix. I applied earlier so I guess im not the worm lol.
Haha... and you should change your name from 'AspiringDO' to 'DO-to-be' now!E-mails.
I was a little bummed at first (who am I kidding, I nearly pissed my pants with excitement) because I really wanted an "official" acceptance letter on letterhead and everything. However, they ask for your mailing address so they can send you an official acceptance letter.
Can't wait to visit!
# of Canadians who got accepted on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th week were 1, 3, and 2, respectively, according to last year's thread. This of course only included SDN'ers who were willing to post their status.Hey guys any idea how soon canadians start to get accepted, I'd like to get some plans depending

From this info: game is almost over for canadians if we don't hear by the end of September?
Has anyone who was accepted tried to select a visit day? I just logged in and only see one date (Oct 26). I was really hoping to go before then so I could decide on site selection as soon as possible. Any insight on this from other applicants/current students?
I feel you....I'm Canadian as well...just finished secondary and forms yesterday...I hope I still have a chance...but if UBCVan is right, then probably i'm already outta the game...🙁🙁🙁🙁From this info: game is almost over for canadians if we don't hear by the end of September?

So how often do they continue to hand out acceptances? Every Wednesday err?
if it helps, last year I sent all the secondary at the end of August and got accepted 2 weeks later. didn't apply early right? I think Sunnydi (?) posted the dates of completion and acceptance for last year's people; I'm included; have a look for exact dates. so don't lose hope 👍
Thank you for the encouragement, I feel a little bit more secure now🙂... Do you mind sharing your stats, just so I can get a rough estimation of my chance🙂...I'm from Vancouver as well, but did my undergrad in U of T...always miss Van...nicest summer days ever![]()
Is it to late to send in primar app?
Depends on your stats. If you're already verified it'll still be a week or two delay for you to get it. If you think it's worth it and are really interested in the school then go for it! 👍
but considering their favoring instate instate students...
If anyone has questions about DMC or living Detroit feel free to PM me. I don't get on here much anymore, but I'll do my best to answer any questions. Also, our class (2016) is under a new curriculum, so I can let you know what its like.

Ditto 🙂 Another couple questions:Hey, hows it going!
I can't PM you for some reason, but I would love to hear more about the DMC campus. How the building(s) is/are on the inside, what the facilities are like.
I visited both EL and DMC a few weeks back (self guided tours haha) and got a very different feeling from each. EL was your typical Uni/ college setup. Wonderful campus, definite buzz of student activity everywhere. DMC was more of a downtown hospital district feel, and to me is a little more "real" more of what I am looking for i think. It would be good to get some feedback from someone who goes there every day! Honestly, I prefer the vibe at DMC, as I am not so interested in the big 10 college feel. One worry I do have, is feeling isolated from the rest of your classmates, professors and well... the rest of MSU. Are all your classes restricted to a few rooms in single building or do you have to move around a lot? Wayne has some nice facilities at DMC as well, are you able to use their space at all?
Thanks!
ps: also interested in anything you can comment on regarding the new curriculum 🙂

1. Do they assign sites in the order that they receive your preference? I called the admissions office to ask about some confusing wording on the acceptance paperwork, and she seemed to indicate that when you send it back has no bearing on where you fall in the site assignment order.
Yeah, for some reason it says my PM's is turned off. Not sure why--if you are on facebook look for the MSU Canadians group. We have representatives from each campus. I kind of wish I picked Macomb or EL, because it would fit my lifestyle better. I drive 15 min to go the the gym on weekends and use Wayne State's gym during the week. I used to run a lot and now I don't at all. Also, no grocery shopping in Detroit. In terms of the quality of education, I think its the same everywhere. I go to class, but am one of the few because you can live stream them from home. New curriculum is a challenge, it moves fast. All our exams are in one day in one 3 hour block exam. It's too early to tell how it will go. We just had a block exam today.
hoping canadians get some love from msu tomorrow!
