If your application has been complete for several weeks and didn't hear anything yesterday, I highly suggest that you call the admissions office. One of my LORs was lost and the admissions let me know who it was so that I could ask that person. MSUCOM is generally pretty quick about letting people know if they're in or not, waitlisted or interviewed. The staff in the office is extremely nice and helpful.
Also, if you're waitlisted, I wouldn't freak out yet😀. Yes, they probably sent acceptances to around 200 people, but many of them will not be going to MSUCOM. A lot of people in-state apply to both MD programs and MSUCOM (as a back up) and many end up choosing Wayne State, CHM, Toledo, etc., over MSUCOM.
In the end, if MSUCOM is your first choice and you don't get in, ask for an advising appt. Someone from the admissions committee will go over your application with you and tell you your weaknesses. Then you can always try next year! Contrary to popular belief, most first-year med students are not 22 yrs old.
