Mt Sinai as backup?

Just out of curiosity, who here sees Mt Sinai as a backup school or as their top choice?

Let's start with me. Personally, I would like to live in NY and go there.

Anyone else?

Yeah, unless you're sitting on a 4.0/43-45, you would not be wise to see Sinai as a backup. That said, I'd rather go to Columbia. :wink:

You all must ignore my ignorance (as I am from Canada). (Okay, perhaps ignorance of medical schools and their reputation)

But.... is Mt Sinai really that top? I simply cannot grasp how it is looked upon by medical school graduates, residents, etc.

I think Sinai would be great, I'm a little worried about all the changes though. Apparently the dean of admissions is leaving and there have been some other shake ups.

Wow... this sounds good. I'm getting more and more excited about Mt Sinai. And you are right, it is a good feeling to be part of something that is growing and becoming better.

There ARE schools that typically have to accept a great deal of people to fill their classes: Finch, Albany, GWU, etc...Sinai isn't one of them.
