Hey Everyone,

I am having a hard time deciding between two of the schools I was accepted to. I was wondering, is it legal or okay to make a first deposit at more than one school? I know I'll only make one final deposit to get enrolled, but I am still not sure where I want to go. If anybody has any insight, please let me know.

Thanks,
Erin

What schools are you trying to decide on? Maybe some people on the forum can help you decide and you can save a few hundred dollars in the process!

When i was faced with this dilemma I went straight to the UW admissions director and asked her that I need to know my status since I have deposits to pay and I do not want to lose my money. She told me that you should try to extend the date as much as possible and some schools will allow it. My question is that if the school has stated specifically that there is no alternatives what should you do?

Guess I need to really hurry up and decide between NOVA and PENN in less than a month or I'm screwed big time. Cuz UW doesn't care if I lose my money or not.

erinb03,

Well, I would say if you are not sure which school to go to NOW, I am sure you will still be in the same place two or three months from now. I would say instead of making a decision three months from now and wasting your money and even confusing yourself more make your decision two weeks from now. What I am trying to say is everything about those schools is going to remain the same two or three months, and I bet your confusion will still be there in that time too. Only then you have to make your decision under pressure. So if I were you I would decide on one and let the other go and do not even look back over my shoulder. And in this time I would have time to get comfortable and adapted with my choice whatever it maybe. It is alway tough to decide between the "good" and the "better".

I agree with conf88. It's best to decide now rather than waiting three or four months down the road. This is not to say make a rash or arbitary decision from deciding between two schools you really equally like, but rather use your time now to really concentrate and think about where you want to go, the pros and cons of each school, the cost of education, what you've heard from the students, and then make your best decision. I went through the same dilemma you were having a few days ago too. But after agonizing and worrying about it for a while, i made a final choice and I'm not looking back. I'm glad it's settled too and so will you if you decide sometime before January. You'll save your dollars too, and lots of headache. Best of luck - I'm sure you'll choose the best school for yourself.
