Please make necessary corrections, if any. Thanks.

for Q 2 I will pick up .c. sucrose- mutan.........levan and ..dextran are formed from sucrose.??.

Yes,I too think the same. Dextran & levan are from sucrose.
S.mutans use sucrose to form a dextran polysaccharide.

number 7 why not ant scalene
i think it was posted before and that was the answer given

according to decks
i think u are right..
levan from fructose moeity
and dextran from glucose moeity

but the confusing part is that they are both from sucrose ...
can someone who has kaplan double check for this one please

can someone confirm if this sentence is right or wrong:

in laterotrusive mov (working) the li cusp of max second premolar passes through the facial embrasure between second premolar and first molar

is the mov corresponding to the cusp??
please reply

drkooks,
I think you are right.

7.Each of the following structure is wrapped in the investing layer of the
deep cervical fascia EXCEPT one which?
a. trapezius
b. sternothyroid
c.anterior scalene
d. SCM
e. inferior belly of omohyoid

investing layer Splits into superficial and deep layers to enclose trapezius, SCM, submandibular gland and fibrous capsule of parotid glandand Covers the posterior as well as the anterior triangle of the neck *********

"in laterotrusive mov (working) the li cusp of max second premolar passes through the facial embrasure between second premolar and first molar
is the mov corresponding to the cusp??"

I think so at working movement the palatal cusp of max second premolar escape through the facial embrasure between second premolar and first molar.
thanks

please guys,
this question appeared before in this forum and the answers is C,but can any one explain WHY?

Mythyl xanthines such as caffeine and theophylline enhance lipolysis in adipose tissue by ?
a.including adenylate cyclase synthesis
b.including triglyceride lipase synthesis
c. inhibiting cyclic AMP
d.dirctly activating an intracellur protein kinase
e.enhancing the binding of epinephrine to an extracellular membrane receptor.

because I know that stimulation cAMP leads to lipolysis in adipose tissue(not inhibiting it🙄) by activating protein kinase A, But phosphddiesterase (PDE) shut off cAMP or inhibiting it leading to stop second messenger. So can any one explain please ???what do you think about that. it will be appreciated...Thanks a lot.

methylxanthines like caffeine is an adenosine receptor antagonist so it will stimulate norepinephrine activity and caffeine inhibits PDE and builds up cAMP,so NE is accelerated and bring out more fatty acids for oxidation and thus lipolysis occur.hope this helps.

im also confusing here because the lin or palatal cusp of max second molar is a holding cusp and is in contact with the distal marginal ridge of 2nd mand premolar n mesial marginal ridge of 1st mand molar.in laterotrusive movement (working side) the maxillary cusps move towards distolingual side on mandible,
here it says lingual cups move through facial cusps of mandible in working i think this is only possible in non-working side but not in working side.
correct me if im wrong ,thanx

from decks
in working side movement ,the mesiobuccal cusp of max first molar passes through the lingual groove of the mand 1st molar.
o.k fine , but in the next step it says
in working side movement ,the mesiobuccal cusp of max 2nd molar passes through the facial groove of the mand 2nd molar.
in first statment the same cusp passes lingul groove but in second statement th same cusp of 2nd molar passes facial groove.
anybody explain this.

7.Each of the following structure is wrapped in the investing layer of the
deep cervical fascia EXCEPT one which?
a. trapezius
b. sternothyroid
c.anterior scalene
d. SCM
e. inferior belly of omohyoid

well i found that ant scalene is found medial to SCM
so ...i am not sure
any help with this one

Well, actually, the first statement is wrong and the second one is correct.
I got confused after reading this in Decks and answered a previous question wrong. The First M, MB cusp passes through the MB groove on Mand. I Molar and not the lingual groove. Please correct this in Decks aswell.

thanks so much amalgam 07,..
