This is the first time I've posted a thread so I'm not for sure if this has been already discussed. I'm curious to how everyone answers the question, "Why do you want to be a doctor?" This isn't the easiest question to answer and sometimes I feel like my answer is too generic: I've always wanted to be a physician. I want to help people...

Just go deeper with your generic answer: why have you always wanted to be a doctor? what about it makes you know this is what you want to do? what was your first memory of this desire and what led to it? what have you done that has verified your desire to be a doctor? what are you doing now that gives you greater exposure to the career and how have you grown from the experience? why do you like helping people? give an example of a time that you have helped someone and what you gained from it....everyone can start with the generic answer but the who, what, when, why, past experiences are unique for everyone.

in the last few weeks there was at least two of those...do a search (a top right corner).

Those are the types of things I talked about in my personal statement and secondary essays but I just didn't want to sound too generic. Thanks for the help!
