Has anybody ever asked a D.O. they've shadowed to write a rec letter even though they've not really interacted much? To clarify, I regularly shadow at his office, which is full of MS3 and MS4 students doing their rotations. I'm allowed to stand in on every case, but the D.O. comes in only to discuss the case with the student and to ask the patient some follow-up questions. I'm stilll getting a good feel for the profession and I have a good rapport with the students. They've been great in helping to answer the questions I have.
However, when the time comes to get a rec letter, I'm a little afraid to ask. Any suggestions?
