hey guys,
has anyone matched into Northwestern/McGaw Medical Center IM program?
i was wondering if anyone could let me know how difficult it is to get into this program?

i love the city of chicago and would love to do residency there...of course im getting WAY ahead of myself b/c i'll just be starting MS-I at a mid-tier medschool this August

as always, any help would be appreciated! thanks!

I don't know anything about NW, but I do know that it's pretty foolish to pick a specialty before you've even started medical school.

As a side note, there are tons of IM programs in Chicago. If you can't match at Northwestern, there are other university-based programs as well as several community programs.

Thanks for the reply.....true it's not a good idea to decide what to go into before even starting med school...but I'm interested in IM b/c it seems to present more options (ie the possibility to do fellowships)

In general, what kinda of things do you have to do in medschool to land a University-based IM residency program??

Thanks again 😎
