the only times i've noted a hint of bitterness is when I ask someone for their notes, and they know darn well I've played over 36 holes of golf in the past 3 days.

One of them even went as far as to ask the class not to share the material with our colleages who didn't attend. Why is it that so many academics just can't grasp the concept that people have different learning styles?

what does bother me, though, is the fact that if you choose not to come to class you should forgo whatever happened during class. i hate when ppl ask, "oh so what happened in class? anything important to know? can i copy your notes?" blah blah. if you are so interested you should come to class in the first place.

Two of my classmates skip class completely - one of them has a long commute and works so it's totally understandable - and I've been giving this an awful lot of thought. I also learn best by sitting at home and reading and writing my own notes and answers. BUT, the days I don't go to school, I kind of find myself putting insane amounts of pressure on myself. I - like many a med student, apparently - tend to have small bouts of depression, and then it's definitely a plus to go to school and meet people. Does anyone else struggle with this? Getting up, studying and coming home seems like such a drag. Dr Ben Carson notwithstanding.
