I had no idea what LMFU meant and just guessed I could find the last major file update on tmdsas. I checked mine, it changed to 6/11/07 as well. but I don't know what it was previously.

hmmm indeed.
 
Per that old thread, it didn't seem that there was nearly as much movement as there was this year?? BUT we know there were more seats offered last year (but that was seats offered through the match and otherwise, so not the best figure to go off of).

( /\ thats in regard to UTSW)

I dunno.. I give it to the end of the month and throw in the towel as far as WL movement is concerend
 
Sigh...

so everyone's LMFU changed recently? Is this a last minute scramble through the waitlist apps before June 15th?

Anyone know how many are on the UTH waitlist anyhow? I've tried asking Tiffany (before her maternity leave) and Nancy and someone in Student Affairs now, who Admissions is forwarding their calls to since they're so low-staff. On the forum, I've read that it's somewhat selective, but I was also told that people are still being added to the alternate list, which is why Nancy supposedly couldn't give me a definitive answer.

Also, late yesterday, I called UTSW and talked to someone in registrar who I don't think knew what they were talking about. She said that June 15 was the last day they could accept more Texas students...which made no sense. She said she admittedly didn't know for certain, but it still freaked me out.

just got accepted into UTSW...e-mail at 12:11 PM!!!!! i was in the top 25%

just as I thought there could be no more movement, that they're toying with us.. you do this, and add fuel to the fire.
and now I actually have an anxiety level

yes...i'm 99% sure i'm going to UTSW which mean there will be an open spot at UTMB...i'll be 100% sure tonight after i talk it over with the parents
 
Congrats on UTSW! It's a shame you're leaving us at UTMB 🙁

I just called UTMB, they sent my packet to the wrong address.
 
CONGRATS YALL!!!

Hopefully all this waitlist movement will trickle down to me 🙁 I was wondering do I need to send my Spring grades to TMDSAS or my waitlisted school, because I sent it to TMDSAS last month but my 2007 application has not been updated yet but my LMFU is 6/11/07
 
I had an LMFU update of 6/01/07.. no update since then. Hopefully good news will come for all of us soon!!

I just got in to UTSouthwestern as well...OMG OMG!!! ahhhhhh
ok...first i just wanted to THANK all of you guys soooo incredibly much for being there this cycle and knowingly/unknowingly helping me through everything!

I was in the Top 20% and I got the email from Wes Norred today!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!
and btw...I don't know about the whole LMFU thing..but I noticed it came up again in conversations ..and my LMFU as of today still says 03-11-07...so I'm guessing it doesn't mean anything AS USUAL!! 😉

and oh....look out for UTMB movement...since I am mostly going to take the acceptance at UTSW for sure! (unless by some sheer luck I still hear from Baylor) ...but either way UTMB is mostly out of the pic 🙂!!!!!
 
congrats dancer! holy crap i can't imagine how awesome that must feel.

i'm hoping movement into UTSW and out of UTMB means more out of TAMU. lol. fingers crossed and praying!

my lmfu is also 6/11/07

prob for all the utsw waitlisters who are gonna get booted. I'm not holding any TX acceptances, but i wouldnt be surprised if they booted off the lower third and middle third because theres no point to have a waitlist larger than the actual class size.

Well the change isn't for that because I'm going to get booted, but I still have no LMFU change. YAY December!
 
Congrats!!!

Always a little bitter sweet on these messages though: while I am very happy for those who got in & always promising to hear of more movement, I just wish I were part of that WL movement

BUT this does give some more hope, so congrats again guys.
 
whoa guys, I drop off the face of the earth for a month, and when I come back, there are all these acceptances!! Congrats!!

3 days for UTMB or UTH to pick me up!

hehehehehe. Yeah I'm not creative enough. Plus on the other Texas thread we kept using movie titles (at least when we were thinking of new thread titles) so I was inspired by that. 🙂

I'm thinking that maybe those spots were post June 5th deadline declinees from earlier movement??

I dont know but it seems know they are just slowly picking a few ppl here and there to maintain class size. I wonder if Baylor has had or will have or is having any significant movement either... but they too are invovled in that 15th deadline so I would think if they did they would be moving now... either way I hope they do have movement that frees up some slots @ SW
 
So....the schools CAN see where you ranked them? I was scrolling through some old posts and a couple of people have mentioned that they can (in the context that an LOI would be repetitive if you ranked the school first).

I didn't match anywhere. I work at UTH, I'm on their waitlist...but I ranked them second behind UTSW, where I also am waitlisted. I wrote my LOI to UTH...but I don't see how I could possibly sound sincere if they know that when I had a bigger head, I ranked UTSW higher. Thoughts?!?

i think they set it up so it's exactly like the residency match for med students, where neither party can see where they are ranked on the other's list. i think you're safe.

Thanks for the response! I certainly hope so. It doesn't make sense if they can see where you ranked them...that has been my assumption, and I would have really embarrassed myself in front of Dr. Kellaway if it was known that I ranked UTSW higher. *crosses fingers*

This is going back to February, but my boss, a professor at UTH, thought that is where I went wrong with the match. She was "shocked" that I didn't get into UTH, and she was upset at me when she heard through my coworkers that I ranked SW higher. But...it really made sense to me to rank the more competitive school higher.🙁

Houston didn't give out any match spots anyways, so it really wasn't your ranking.

And congratulations TexMED. That is AWESOME!

I think UTSW told us to rank them first on the match or else we wouldn't be considered for the waitlist. So if that's true, then they have to be able to see where you rank...

Yeah but I don't think they know where you rank until after the match is over. Like before the match, my TAMU insider 😉 said they really didn't know how it would end up, but after the match he said a majority of the people that accepted a pre-match offer ended up ranking tamu first.
 
so I don't want to rub anything in, but this is mind numbing and shaking.

I was at the liquor store to celebrate UTMB, when I got the call from UT Houston. WHAT! I'm so confused and shaken and in a whirl I don't know what to do, but I know I must work fast. I think I must be the luckiest person alive.

how dissapointing the week was for me:
first the sopranos series finale then no call from UTSW

ok...when does the actual "drop" from the waitlist happen.

is it june 15th at 5pm...11;59pm or june 15 at 12:01AM etc..
