From what I understand you receive one email when you turn in your supp. app., then another call that it is being forwarded to the admission committee, and another email that it is now being reviewed by the admission committee....at least that's how it was for me
When did you submit your supplemental app and receive notification of it being reviewed by the committee?

I submitted 10/8, received the call 10/10, and was notified that it is being reviewed 10/21

I had everything submitted 10/9 and got a phone call a few days after too but I was unable to take it since I was at work. According to Monica that was them saying they had received everything but had not been moved onto the admission committee yet as of 10/24. I hope that it goes through soon so I can hopefully hear some good news! So for you ptbobby yours is in the admission committee part now?

Well I'm not sure if they're actually already reviewing it lol i just received this second email:
"Thank you for your application to NSU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Receipt of this email indicates that NSU’s Health Professions Division Office of Admissions and College of Health Care Sciences has received your supplemental application.
The Admissions Counselor will be reviewing your application and further processing it, if all required documents have been received....."
Since I know all my documents are complete I'm assuming that it is in the process of being reviewed. Probably the same email that you received, I'm just hoping it won't take too much longer from here on

Oh ya I got that same email on 10/21 as well. Lets hope it can hurry through the process...This waiting game sucks!

This is the last email/anything I have heard also. I'm thinking I didn't get a call because I spoke to Monica over the phone the same day as I got the email. The time frame of hearing back from them is very wide apparently. Looking through other forums, I saw that it took people up to a few months to hear back. As long as we know they received everything and we did what we had to on our part, all we can do is sit back and hope for the best. (and try to limit checking emails to every minute instead of every 30 seconds lol)

So I called admissions today to check the status of my application and they lady told me that the review board has made a decision but overall it's pending (this is for the main campus btw). They said they will notify me when it's done pending. Has anyone else heard something similar to this?

Really? What does that even mean a decision is made but it's also pending? I really want to be on the inside of this whole process because it is mind boggling!

I just got an acceptance to Nova hybrid, though. I don't know if the two campuses have anything to do with each other but feels good to hear something.

I have no clue! I'm surprised they made a decision about the main campus before the hybrid program. Maybe that's why they are pending because they are waiting on a decision for the hybrid program. Idk if that is good or bad.

Process is crazy, I'm still waiting to hear as well I did a phone interview with Dr. Stern 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard

How long ago did you submit your supp. app.? Maybe they're waiting for a certain amount of acceptances to sent them out all together instead of sending them individually?! I just hope we hear something soon...

I believe I submitted everything sept. 27th. I got an email October 1st and a phone call saying everything was being sent over to admissions for review.

Would you mind posting your stats? 🙂

3.88 overall GPA, 3.95 prereq GPA, 162/161 V and Q, respectively. ~500 hours.

This is off the top of my head but close to the real numbers.. I posted in the GPA thread so whatever's in there is most accurate.

Have you heard anything about the main campus?

I got a receipt for my supplemental app submission shortly after I submitted it. Then, today I got a voicemail saying my app was under review. Unfortunately they said it was for osteopathic medicine so I need to call and make sure it's really under DPT! Haha

I just got off the phone with the admissions people today as Monica is still out of her office. They informed me that the review process of my application is complete and my status is "pending". I know someone else mentioned that this happened to them. I have yet to receive a phone call as well but hope they let me know soon.

On another note, for those who are interested in USF's DPT program I HIGHLY suggest you visit the program. I was a member of the 2016 class and withdrew from the program. Two of us left the program because USF puts you together with the medical students and you are taking the same classes they are taking. For the first course we took Biochemistry and I didn't take that or organic or anything in undergrad. Lacking the foundations killed me so for those who are interested I highly suggest you take that course to help you. It was too the point where I wasn't sleeping due to the high amount of stress, I was frustrated everyday and couldn't take it. The way I look at it is its kind of like math....if you don't have the foundations in basic math, algebra, pre calc, trig and etc, how can you do well in Calculus? Luckily, professors over at the med school understood where I was coming from and agreed. Only ones who didn't agree were the PT staff. Just a warning to everyone!

Wow that must have been such a tough decision! Good for you for keeping on though!

I for one am very frustrated with Nova. I've received two inexplicable emails about signing into my admissions account to check my required documents. Meanwhile, I've been told a number of times that they have all my documents. No one has been any help so far and I don't have time to sit on the phone all day. So far, UM has been the only program to be concise and helpful.

It was a VERY tough decision. However, I honestly wasn't benefiting from the program and my health was being affected so I had to make the best decision for me. Thank you, the way I look at it is that even though it didn't work out over their, doesn't mean I can't succeed at another program!
I second that. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get into contact with anyone at Nova. I had the exact same problem last year with them. I applied very late and didn't get in but I didn't expect to. But they are a pain because you can never get in touch with the Physical Therapy Department, Monica has never returned my emails that were sent weeks ago and its just a big mess with them. I even received an email from Nova that wasn't intended for me but another student. Good thing it didn't contain any important information or I would be worried that it could happen to me. Lol! I am so used to sitting on the phone all day with Nova and still not getting in touch with anyone *sigh*.

I honestly have no Idea what this "pending" status means. Hopefully Monica comes back soon and can let us know!

I have also called the admissions department and receive the same message of reviewed but pending. It is all very frustrating. I am thinking they compile their decisions in groups and notify participants at the same time. I received an email that my application was being sent over to the health division but no phone calls. Good luck to everyone, I truly hope we hear soon. This anticipation is the worst.

I think I will give them a call early next week and let you guys know if they say anything different. Just out of curiosity what number are you guys calling?

Ok guys, I called one of the counselors that I met with for a short tour a few weeks ago to find out the deal, and she called me back fairly quickly. She told me that the admissions committee has decisions made based on the group that they have most recently reviewed. These decisions still need to get signed of on by the dean, and they haven't changed the status in the system yet. Said they will be sending out emails early next week. She also said she had good news for me, and went on to tell me I was accepted to the Ft. Lauderdale program!!! I cannot freakin' believe it!

Congrats!!! I hope I hear early next week...and that its good news! Its killing me to have to wait to hear.

By the way, what do you all think of this: http://ericderiseedu.wordpress.com

It's the blog for the admissions guy at Nova Tampa. I stumbled upon it searching for a phone number and was really put off by it, especially the blog about financial aid and students being entitled. Besides the burdensome admissions process at the Ft. Lauderdale program, I've been impressed with Nova but this blog is SO unprofessional that I have a bad taste in my mouth about both campuses!

That's awesome!! Congrats! Hopefully we'll all hear from them early next week....This wait is killing me lol

Awesome! Congrats! Hope I get an email early next week as you stated since my application was reviewed and status is pending.

Who did you contact to find out that you were accepted? Can you give us the phone number and name so we can find out too! Thanks!

Thanks everyone, I hope you all get some good news early next week! I'll be following this thread closely. This is a crazy process and it feels surreal to have an answer so quickly after only applying a month and a half ago. I won't hear back from anyone else other than Miami for the next two months. I am most likely going to attend Nova though. I have heard great things about the program, and also my wife is pregnant with our first child, and her parents, who are awesome, live about 20 min away and we could feasibly live with them, and get help with the baby and rent. It takes a village haha! 🙂

About how long were your supplemental parts of the application? I'm worried I will write too much, or too little. In the additional information part, there is no word limit. If the essay limit is 3o0, should the additional information be less than that?

I don't remember exactly how much I wrote in those areas, but for most I was pretty much at the limit. From what I remember, all of the sections were limited in character count. When they asked if there was anything else for the admissions committee to know, I wrote a short bit about being a non-trad student and working while maintaining my GPA. I also talked briefly about my job as an aide. I think what you put there/ how much you write is all based on your individual situation.

Same here!I get so excited every time I receive an email and then it's just stupid spam :/ i have a feeling that "earlier this week" will probably be tomorrow or even Wednesday...hope I'm wrong though lol

I called them again and the status is still the same. Checking my email constantly..... Watch them not send an email out today *sigh*.

Who did you talk to that informed you about your acceptance into the program?!?

I'm with everyone else...checking my email every chance I get....we better hear something this week at least!!

Received my acceptance email today! Good luck to all

If you don't mind sharing when did you have everything submitted to them, including the supplemental. Thanks and congrats!!!

Ouch, I have heard nothing. No email and no update. This is getting ridiculous, I just want a yes or no already...
