Does anyone know how and when they disburse the money that we get from loans. From my understanding, it all goes into your account and you use the account to pay for tuition and your expenses (everything indicated in the budget). Also, I think they disburse this money the first day of classes. So, this may pose a problem since we must pay for housing, supplies, make various payments, etc... Any ideas? Thanks.

Good question! Especially as I plan to take a month off before school starts to earn some well deserved bedsores on my tuckus.

I may even have a coma induced and get hooked up to life support to relax as much as I possibly can before revving up the terrible study engine.

Don't wait till august to secure housing... more and more apartments are going condo so it's tough to find apartments if you wait that late. Given that, this year several people were still frantically looking to fill up an extra bedroom in an apartment they'd secured even the week before school.

it depends...if u use sallie mae...its quick...thats the default lender..if you go with another lender..it can get delayed a bit..i got my fafsa money in the week b4 school..but it took a month to get my gradPLUS money..and they automatically take out the tuition money..so pretty much the government gives the school money..the school then takes out watever they want..and give u the rest..hehe

Send it. Otherwise they won't send you your orientation information and all that good stuff. I think that schools are well aware that other factors change our decision. As the Dean said, "the reason for the tuition being only $750 is that we want our students to really want to come to the school, not to bind them to a school." Not that $750 is small change...

I paid on the phone and Linda said she would send out orientation materials that day. But I will go ahead and send in that form.

Yep yep. I went over all the forms that I had in my packet so I didn't have to send out more than one thing. I wasn't going to mention the acceptance sheet, but when I did she said I should send that in too. I included the survey form while I was at it. No need to use another stamp.

BTW, Depakote's spreadsheet is great, but I ended up with 42 items. I'm insane... and with the weighted average, there is only a one point difference! lol. I'm screwed.

I know what you mean about considering a school before you're actually accepted to it. I did that with UNE.

I have another good friend that is in the same place that you're in. She interviewed last week and will hear from UMDNJ in the middle of December. She will be deciding between NSU and UMDNJ. You set your own deadline for March. UMDNJ better abide by it or Kuba's gonna go psycho.

I have a solid 3.5 this semester (i know nothing special to you , HOD, but still raises my gpa.) I also am going to be published soon, so hopefully a bunch of things combined can raise my composite score that 1 point.

I put down my deposit today and I got a Christmas card. I'm still not 100% that I'm going to end up at NSU, I'm still playing the game. I have interviews at UMDNJ and CCOM and then DMU, PCOM, and NYCOM still to hear from...

Hmm.... I thought I was done with NSUCOM, but now that I decided, I'm not quite sure. I haven't sent out any deposits or decline to either NYCOM or NSUCOM, I just thought about it, and figured NYCOM would be the better place for me. Only now Im having second thoughts. So if you guys don't mind sharing, why are you choosing NSU over any other school? And please don't say the weather, as I've said before, I hate the heat and humidity of south Florida.

I am right now between NYCOM and NSUCOM. And i need to make a decision soon. I played around with the chart, only I didn't actually have time to sit down and do it seriously. Im going to do that right now. But maybe I'll have to add quality of holiday cards as one of my points to consider 😀 😀

HA HA! And its by the window! 😀 Man, I had to get over a major fear of flying to go on these interviews, and while it is a great view at the window, it is torture when you're 6'4", and just a head resting on legs. I learned about the aisle seat, and the blessed exit row!
