i still don't get why i haven't gotten a letter yet.. and that's frustrating that you're on a waitlist now but at least you can stop worrying about expecting something in the mail from them, at least for awhile. and yay for touro-ny! i'm interviewing there on oct. 30.. when are you interviewing?

i can chose between the 23, 24, 30, 31, and november something...

i am going to try to get the 23rd so i can just get it over with, i have 2 in november and im also trying to get the grand opening ready for the gelateria cafe soooooooooooooo im busy as heck. I just wanted a definite answer from nova so that i can worry less about med school and just think of my cafe... i have spent about $60,000 so far out of my pocket and i just want to make my money back already. I cant believe my interviewer looked down at me opening up a cafe. I told him that all bases are covered, even when i attend medical school. oh well. oh and my father is putting me in a new 200+ seating pancake house he is opening as a partner (i never need to come in though, just get paid) but i still gotta help him get it ready on my free time, ill be able to pay off all 4 years of medical school in a year just from the pancake house, never told him that, but i told him that i love to venture into more than just one project and that even though i am doing all this stuff i am still volunteering and stuff... but the old doctor i guess doesnt like entrepeneurs! The other interviewer was too hungry to ask any questions, he was eating doughnuts the whole time. The third one was amazing and asking me most of the good questions that really showed off my character and who i am. I made one mistake though, I told him i liked the area so much, i already had enquired about free retail spots for a cafe on the beach that my partner wanted to open up. I guess he doesnt understand how some people can handle more than one task at a time. In my next interview, i dont think im going to tell them about my businesses. So much for showing off leadership skills. lol.

They called yesterday to confirm my interview for today, except it's Nov. 9 by the packet I received. I straightened it out by phone - no worries, but then I got the packet today addressed to Mr. Megboo.

I'm not sure how many people named "Meg" are male LOL. Called to straighten that out, too, just in case the adcom expected a man!

hahahaha! It woulda been a good way for them to remember you by...the guy that's named Meg! But glad it was all straightened out!

I got an invite today for the 9th or 14th.. im leaning more towards 14th! coming from Canada!

i TOTALLY second that about the just wanting to know.. i'm leaning towards schools closer to home anyway but it would be nice to at least get one "yes, you rock in our book, please bless us with your presence at our school!" and finally be certain that i actually AM going to be a physician, no matter what. 🙂

let me know how your touro interview goes! i'd love to get the insider view on the experience before i go in for my interview.

I got my acceptance today!!! Of course the mail didn't come until JUST before 5pm, after I had left, so I didn't get to find out until just a little while ago!! Came by certified mail, as the person above said!! Good luck to everyone else!!! I'm pulling for you!!

I just got an interview invite yesterday from NSU. 🙄

I really want to go to this school, and was wondering, are the chances of getting an acceptance post-interview pretty high? Does anyone know the percentages?

I got an interview invite 2 days after submitting my secondary. I know that they hadn't received all of my LOR's nor my signature page yet.

I agree. Its pretty much a crap shoot sometimes. I've heard of people with similar stats to yours landing interviews...so hang in there! 👍🙂

at my interview dev maharaj gave us the 3 hour tour and he explicitly said that he initially prescreens all the applications just based on MCAT and GPA, and then he sends those applications to someone else who further goes through them and decides who is worthy for an interview. He said that approx 800 kids are invited for interviews out of the 3500 applicants. ( 2 interviews/week with 15-18interviewers/day) About 400 are accepted, and the entering class has about 200. So once u get an interview you have a 50% chance of getting in. I was told this at my interview.

Email them, and explain your situation. Ask to be put in the first interview group so you can leave early. However, the interview day ends at 2:00, so you should be fine.

I was looking at the Comfort Inn Suites/Cruise Port South since we get a $69 rate for NSU. The ratings seem okay, but do you guys know if theres a free shuttle to NSU the morning of the interview?

I know there is a shuttle that goes to Nova in the morning. I did not stay at a hotel, but maybe someone can enlighten you on which one had the shuttle.

Our school gets 3,500 applicants?? I had no idea 😱

For a cheap place to stay check out the hotels section on the NSU-COM website, they have a list of all the hotels in the area and their prices. Also there are some recommendations on the interview feedbacks!

yeah the first thing I did when I got into town was go check out the beach. The next thing I did was try to find a hotel room...and let me tell you any place that is right across the street from the beach and is only $40 per night is probably not some place you should stay at. I should have known better but the prospect of being so close to the water was too tempting.

Also, this was my first time in Fort lauderdale and and i have to say that it is probably the prettiest city I have ever been to. It is worth your time to get out of davie (which is nice too) and go see the downtown and beach, you will not be disappointed.

Linda Ferris told me that the next meeting was on the 24th.... my file was supposed to be reviewed then too. I interviewed on the 4th so hopefully we'll both hear something soon. Good Luck!!

I interviewed on 9/28 and I didn't get called. I emailed and found out on Monday.
