So how does the status change and does it change in all the 3 possible decision cases?
Does anyone know if they are still reviewing those who interviewed in mid March?

I was told that on the status page, under decision, it will say "Letter sent", regardless of whether you are accepted, WLed, or rejected. No one who interviewed in March has posted that they received a letter or e-mail.

Its officially the day after May 15th, the day they told us we would all hear from them by, and yet still not a peep out of their mouths. Waiting sucks. I really wouldl like to start planning my future. Still trying to keep positive vibes coming my way and yours as well, but fading fast.

I see someone in the nymc waitlist thread said the adcom said they are looking at the waitlist "right now". I would hope march people get reviewed and handed accpetances before they move to the waitlist.

I've been trying to call the admissions office (914-594-4507) but I can't seem to get a real person on the phone. If I push 0, all I get is endless ringing. None of the other options have worked either. Has anyone tried calling today?

I just got emailed an acceptance today. I interviewed March 26th, so I assume more will be coming shortly. Not sure yet if I'll take it, but good luck to you all.

Awesome! Congrats Corndog!!! I just called the office, and here's what they said:

Me: I'd like to check the status of my application.
Her: Did you interview?
Me: Yes.
Her: When?
Me: I interviewed on April 12th.
Her: Too soon.
Me: Oh, really? We were told on our interview day by Dr. Sullivan that we would all hear by May 15th at the latest.
Her: She was wrong.
Me: Did she lie to us?
Her: No, her information was wrong. The dates were wrong.
Me: Oh, so when can I expect to hear something?
Her: 2 weeks...maybe.
Me: So I can expect to hear something at the end of May.
Her: Probably.
Me: OK, thanks. Do you know what month of interviews they're reviewing right now?
Her: ???
Me: Like, are the applicants who interviewed in March being reviewed right now?
Her: Yes.
Me: OK, thanks so much!
Her: click

But, since Corndog interviewed at the end of March, maybe the April interviewees (like me) will hear in less than two weeks.

So I call earlier today like 10 AM ET, and ask if March interviewees will hear their decisions anytime soon. I also mentioned that I heard a rumor that they had already moved on to the waitlist and expressed my concern that March and April people had been passed over.

The woman told me we would hear the end of this week or next week and said firmly that the waitlist rumor was a rumor and that they were finishing up March right now.

I didn't give out any of my personal information or say that I interviewed on March 15.

And then at 12:29 ET I get an acceptance email!!!!!!!!. This is my only acceptance...and I am the happiest girl in the whole world right now. EEEEEEE!!!!!!

I really hope not because I interviewed late March and haven't heard back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hear some good news.

i was accepted 5/2, and my status page is still blank under "decision". I'm guessing you'll be hearing by e-mail first.

I interview at the end of March so if I haven't heard by now should I assume waitlist? or is there still hope?

The rumour is that they are not accepting people from the waitlist until June, which may mean that before June they are still reviewing people post interview and issuing acceptances 🙂 (hopefully)! If you think logically, what else would they do from now until the end of May?

When I called them yesterday they told me I would hear by the end of next week. As of now my "decision" field is blank, what about you guys?

i just called the admissions office and it is closed.. so lets hope theyre meeting to make decisions and that they havent made decisions on everyone.. if they had already made decisions about who to put on the waitlist i doubt theyd be meeting now until some significant movement on the waitlist has occured.

Either that, or the lady who answers phones is sick of answering "when am I going to hear about my application" a million times. They were closing at 3pm ET every day last week. I wonder why they closed even earlier today.

the letter says it is not ranked and that they "periodically review the pool."

i dont know what that means.

Hey I definitely wrote a carefully thought-out letter of interest telling them how much I loved their school, with specific features I liked and listed factors that made me a good match for the school. My PI that I do research for also wrote me a letter of recommendation which I sent in as another update.

It didn't hurt that my interview went really well too but I think my letter may have given me that bump. I'll never know for sure, but I've heard many people say a genuine, heartfelt letter of interest goes a long way for NYMC.

In other news, I got rejected post-interview from NYMC today. Kinda weird that my 2 post-interview rejections have both came from interviews where I thought I did really well. Seems like opposite-world for me...

i don't write here at all but I received my acceptance email this morning around 8am and decided to shed the word on those still waiting. I interviewed on 3.20 and hadn't heard anything from them since then. So, I guess they are still handing out acceptances to people from March/April interviews if you haven't heard any news yet.

I also wrote 2 letters to NYMC both immediately after I interviewed and one month post-interview stating that I was still very interested in their school.
