I got the email today too. I interviewed midOctober. Congrats all who heard today and goodluck everyone else🙂
 
Does anyone know if NYU is open to receiving fall transcripts? And is it pretty much a lost cause to hope for an interview invite from them at this point 🙁
 
Since we only have a handful of people who have gotten accepted on SDN, it is hard to tell. But judging by the way they did it (Early Oct. Acceptance Emails - 9-11 AM Monday, then Late Oct - Nov 10 Acceptance e-mails - 4-5 PM Monday), a lot of people are developing the "chronological order theory." If thats the case, then it looks like they are done with October, and probably half of November. But I can only speculate at this point, hopefully we will know more tomorrow. Good luck!
 
what about september interviews?! ah! oh well, congrats to everyone on the good news.
 
I interviewed in September as well. I'm hoping these e-mails have been sent in alphabetical order at the moment.

Congrats to those accepted. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news this week!
 
NYU, please have mercy.... hopefully tomorrow will awaken me with an acceptance e-mail!

just kidding, his post was this mornin, but the e-mail he recieved was last night...there is still hope!
 
At this point, if I am not going to be accepted, I'de rather NYU send an e-mail saying, " Dude, we don't want you, never did, stop obsessing!"

I would then be able to peel myself away from SDN and my GMAIL notification program!
 
Do you think they are going to send another round of emails today? I don't.

They are supposedly sending them out all this week?!?! Hopefully?!

They seemed to have sent out a ton of e-mails yesterday. Last year they only gave out 468 acceptance (with a few of those being from the waitlist). We'll just wait and see ... 🙁 :luck:
 
Can someone take the plunge and call to find out if more emails will be sent today? Not it (finger on nose)....

Because they just sent them out yesterday. Apparently they send out the "first round" in December. Well, yesterday seems to have been a "round" although I am hoping that maybe it was a round of the "round".

Who knows
 
i would assume they would wait a little more before sending out another round of acceptances...
although i hope i am wrong

Well, I hate to say it because I'm in the same boat that you all are in, and am anxiously awaiting the email.....but I think it's safe to say that the first round of acceptances (the one the refer to in December that's posted on the website) is officially over. We probably won't hear until after the new year. It just wouldn't make sense to send out random batches of emails throughout this week (although I would LOVE to be wrong).

So lets say they did send out 80 yesterday. They will probably wait for responses and send out another 80-100 sometime in the middle of January. Wait again, analyze, send out another 100-200 by the end of January, more. They will probably do this until Feb, which gets them close to that 400-500 acceptance mark. At that time, they will probably send out the wait lists and rejections.

That's my thought. Again, I would love to be wrong.
 
So, I decided to be brave and call the admissions office. Apparently, yesterday was considered the first batch of acceptances. E-mails will possibly be sent once a week, depending on when the committee meets again, until February. Beginning February 15, interviewees will be notified of either a rejection or a waitlist by snail mail only. Therefore, it seems as if no more e-mails will be going out this week. But, I distinctly remember Dean Genieser telling my interview group back in September that two batches of e-mails were being sent---one in December and one in January. Also, she had told us not to worry if we didn't receive notification in December. Apparently, it just depended upon when your file was actually reviewed. But, this was 3 months ago and the process could have changed.

This is just nerve-racking.

My guess is after the new year.
 
i haven't read the "are admissions offices open over christmas break?" thread, but i'm guessing the next round won't come out until january. just a guess.

even though i know nothing's coming any time soon, i'm STILL checking my email COMPULSIVELY...

does anyone have any distraction ideas? 😱 :scared:!!!!!
 
yea, interviewed in september too, no nothin, aha, maybe they lost the september ones real quick so no emails, but soon to come, just dreamin
 
Here's the theory I concocted to keep my hope alive: Since NYU is non-rolling, it's possible that the admissions committee just recently began to review the files of those interviewed. These files were simply stacked in the back of a dusty old room, with the September interviewee files supporting the stack as the base. Therefore, our files will be reviewed later on in the process by happenstance.

anyway, i interviewed in december. hopefully they get to it soon. :idea:
 
I just meant that they don't start sending out acceptances until the end of December. They're techincally rolling, but only for about a month. The dean of admissions originally said they were only sending out two batches of acceptances. Most schools with true rolling admissions have started sending out acceptances quite some time ago. Whatever.
 
In case anyone is wondering, we are still giving interviews and I don't think we would interview anyone that didn't have a shot at getting in so don't lose hope (they don't necessarily review everyones application on the order of the interview date). We are considered "non-rolling" this year because instead of one wave of acceptances we are sending out two this year.

Any chance you could tell us how often invites go out (batch, 1x week, midnight on the solstice)?
 
public service announcement- I don't post often, but I thought this might help a few of you relax- I interviewed in september (so if emails went out in chronological order i was a goner), and the alphabetical order theory didn't really work for my last name- Anddd I got an acceptance to NYU by email today!!!!!!

So for those of you who are driven slightly insane by this thread (like I was 😳 ), stop worrying, the acceptances are still going out!

I also got an acceptance email for NYU today and I interviewed Mid-October.. so hang in there guys! acceptance letters for the first batch are still going out =)

lookin at mdapplicants, it seems like 2 new md/phd acceptances have been added for today.
 
I received the snail-mail letter from NYU today. Included in the letter is the same information that was contained within the email that I previously posted, except this letter also included the date of the "revisit," which is Friday, March 2nd. So, keep your calendars open!
 
Just to check once more...has anyone who interviewed in December heard anything?
 
In my desperation, I did some calculations based on mdapps profiles (yeah I'm sure that's good for something). It looks like 10 acceptances out of 72 interviews listed. That's 13.8%, so surely there must be more coming, right?!
 
Just got the email today! 🙂 Interviewed in mid-October (MD only), so for those of you that haven't heard yet, there is still hope!!! Hang in there!

Wow, March 2nd? That seems really early!
