Heya folks thought I'd update you on the official word. Last day of interviews will be on January 19th and those lucky enough to have their tour that day will be sharing it with me. Good luck!

Dude... if I 1.) don't hear anything this week from NYU or 2.) at least get my packages from Amazon.com, I'm seriously going into a rage. RAGE! 😳
 
seriously, it's the little things that get me through the day now. for example, on the phone last night...

me: i have good news
friend: WHAT? you got into NYU??!!?!
me: pfsh!! no. my toilet works again, now i don't have to pee at the dunkin donuts across the street.
friend: oh. wow. that's less exciting...

haha very similar conversations have occured between my friends and i. that, and every single day my roommate asks if i've heard anything, and every day i tell her: "trust me, you'll know."
 
does anyone want to call NYU and ask what's going on??

Hahaha. Mazal tov on the toilet. Also, everytime this thread gets bumped and my inbox is empty I have a heart attack. Here's to someone else's heartattack.
 
Ok so I just called them and the lady said she doesn't know when the next batch of acceptances will be sent out but the letters will be sent between now and February.

ya, my hunch is that the rest of the acceptances will be given at once (or at least a couple days within each other), during the week of the 22nd...
 
week of the 22nd might make sense, it's about 1 month after the first round of acceptances went out.

I called today and was told a curious thing: acceptances have been going out daily.

Any word on SDN?
 
Wow...I am surprised, since SDNers seem to be the first to know these things! Well now I have an excuse to check my email every ten minutes...oh wait...i'm doing that allready.😱

Thank you for calling. But are you sure they were refering to the acceptances sent out by email and not by mail? (don't mind me I'm just in denial)

I hope you're kidding. No news here. How is it possible that SDNers haven't heard anything? It seems that the first batch of acceptances was just that - a batch - and I'm surprised that acceptances since would be any different. Can anyone else confirm this?
 
are they generally pretty nice when you call up to ask about whether they are sending out acceptances?
 
Yeah, I'd find it unlikely that no one on SDN heard anything back, either, but that's definitely what they told me. Maybe I got someone on the phone who didn't actually know the deal? I think last week people said that committees were starting to meet this week again, no?

Anyone want to call again? I'm not calling twice in a week, but this really doesn't make sense. And if you call again, ask the guy above's question: are they still notifying by email first? Or was she just referring to acceptance packets for those who already got the email a few weeks back?

And yeah, Jstar, they're nice. Call 😉
 
...the email notifications were NYU's version of phone calls to their top choice applicants and now they're just sending acceptances via mail...

No?
 
I just find it highly unlikely that no one on SDN or using mdapps has indicated that they were accepted in 2007 if they have been sending them out all along...

Here's hoping anyway. :scared:
 
A couple weeks ago actually, he probably interviewed sometime in October.

Thats all the info I have.
 
Yeah, the first batch went out in December. We're all anticipating the second batch. Maybe we should start a betting pool?
 
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but not new to agonizing over this process. No acceptances yet, I'm really hoping for NYU (INT 11/10).
