what ignorance and bigotry? He has a different opinion than you do, (so do I) - and you are quick to resort to inflammatory name calling. You are the one who appears intolerant.

Strong work gasman. My only opinion was that bigotry and ignorance scare me....you have a different opinion? that's nice. I havn't done name calling...the only one I see doing that is your friend ("commies", "you people")....

Why move to france? France is coming here. Yay for socialism!

You greedy doctors should have gone into dentistry. I don't like the idea of you treating my patients while only worrying about $$$. It's inhuman.

In the off chance that this post is not sarcastic, I'll say this but once... you have no patients... premed... and are quite a long way from ever hoping to have them... if you love socialism so much, they make passports and all of the other required paraphernalia every day...

I would also refrain from repeating CNBC's talking points when trying to explain our current economic woes, before someone goes "Good Will Hunting" on you....

WOW!!

I was considering anesthesiology before, but NOW. I just don't think I'd get along with my colleagues after reading this garbage. And plus in canada anesthesiologists barely break 100k canadian...

This is total horsesh*t, Canandian anesthesiologists routinely make 300,000-400,000 in private practice.

That's because Obama is our savior. I'm sending my loan payments to the White House as I know he'll take care of them for me...
Good for you! Did you noticed in the graphic that "students" were on the 12-th place? And the unemployed are the most fervents supporters of Obama... Tea bag party!

I'm curious where they got the money from. Oh, that's right. . .the taxpayers.

I am not suprised. I went into a l and d room the other day (pt of Dr. Medicaid who only takes medicaid patients) and this lady had keys to a nicer car than I drive, a very nice camera and video camera, and there were 2 or 3 cell phones per person, and this was like baby number 12. I sometimes wonder why my tax rate has to go to 40%, but then I remember that lady really needs that BMW to drive around in.

Yeah, and the taxpayers (read as productive members of society) are the ones getting tea-bagged.

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would recieve an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second Test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else. All failed to their great surprise and the professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder to succeed the greater the reward but when a government takes all the reward away; no one will try or succeed.

This is a beautiful experiment. Our country will soon become a poor, stagnant piece of s#!t!

Not only does it apply to countries, but capitalism employs the whole mechanism by which natural selection and evolution work. If it weren't for that, life would have burned out long ago.

But whatever. I was furious, absolutely furious, at how people are too stupid, short-sighted and emotional to see how illogical it is to be a liberal. How you're effectively damning your race to disease, poverty, and the gutter.

Now I'm starting to think it's funny. People aren't smart enough to be trusted with a vote and it will almost be worth enduring socialism just to see them suffer for it.

why do you put that up? You dont think our healthcare system is socialized now? Medicare Medicaid ???

Partially socialized, not entirely. Last time I checked, we weren't yet in a single payor, medicare/medicaid system.

After seeing the waste in the VA system, such as tons of unnecessary testing and stays well past time for "tuning up" the patient, I think the taxpayer should beware the government controlling all healthcare money as in a socialized system. It is a pennywise, pound foolish exercise, IMO.

I see more incompetence at the va than i do wasteful spending.

Kinda two sides of the same coin.

If someone orders unnecessary tests, or the ED admits 8/10 vets because they said the magic phrases "short of breath" or "chest pain", rather than using actual knowledge and skills to practice medicine, it is incompetent.

I would argue it is also wasteful spending.

We could always go to a dictatorship.

Dictatorships are incredibly efficient. And they work well provided the dictator isn't a nut job.

Today I just realized that United States Congress is a joke! They don't respect the Constitution.

Is it because most of them are democrats?
No...There are democrats that voted against the budget and also there are republicans that will tax 90% )retroactive from the AIG bonuses. Amazing :
"
President Obama has ordered Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to find a way to claw those bonuses back, and maybe even take them out of AIG’s next bailout payment. Can they do that? The Constitution says the government can’t interfere in private contracts–and the AIG bonus agreements were struck in early 2008, when the company wasn’t under government control."

We have all worked in VA's and some of the care there is a travesty. But I don't think our president should tell our vets, go to war, fight for your country and if you get hurt, where is your insurance card? Obama has no clue about healthcare.

It's a moot point. Aig is 80 percent owned by the government. If the free market had been allowed to act the company wouldve failed and those bonuses wouldn't have been paid anyway. However now thAt aig is heavily owned by the government they have a responsibility to tax payers as technically they own stake in the company. It wouldve have beeen nice to let the free market take care of it, but there would have been significant consequencesto letting aig fail. Now we just has to wait and see if they will happen anyway

My point is that they failed to recognized their mistake! The bailout money contract (law) didn't have anything specified about the bonuses. Or - it was there initially but not in the final form. And again they voted WITHOUT TO READ!!! In order to correct their mistake they passed this tax law targeting a specific entity.
Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution of the United States of America clearly and unambiguously states: “No Bill of Attainder or Ex Post Facto Law shall be passed.”
Read: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123742691757579925.html
WSJ states that it is possible if the "law is crafted"and pot facto law is applied only in criminal cases. Very smart - because is convenient for Congress. The spirit of law I believe is different and this one is a lame attempt to cover their incompetence.
There is no Constitution for them!

I see your point, congress is basically pissing all over the constitution to cover for their own stupidity. I have never been more convinced that congress that congress is a bunch of inept *****s as I am after seeing how they handled this bailout. I just saw on bloomburg that other banks r misusig tarp funds for things like construction Instead of loans. The worst part is banks tried this way before the bailout and those idiots never thought to put limitions on how the money is spent

I shudder to think what these idiots will do to healthcare

I support our country's obligation to its veterans injured while fighting for us. The VA is necessary. Could it be run better? Probably. Could they get better care elsewhere? Maybe. But the fact is there this system is the least we can do for them. By the way, I don't treat people based on their ability to pay nor does any physician I know. The seriously ill get the care they need. It is a misstatement to say they don't. Spend a few shifts in any ER. After a while you will find that they are pretty much a walk in clinic for people that don't want to wait for an appoitment. You don't see it now but socialized medicine will suck the initiative and effiency right out of our healthcare system. Can you imagine telling someone that they have to wait x months for x procedure. It will be a disaster. By the way, did you catch the tonight show last night? Obama seems like a smart guy. He should be smart enough to not make fun of the mentally challenged on national tv.

Ha-ha,

dictatorship is an inevitable part of socialism, didn't you know? Oh, well, you''l learn when in order to get your passport to go to Mexico you will have to provide 12 different LORs on how good and trustworthy you are and that you will return back to fulfill your obligations to the country and it's people.
Oh, and yes, you won't be able to go alone - only in groups with watchdogs in grey - what if you will decide to abandon socialistic heaven

p.s. obviously, I've got your sparkle, just used your post ;)

i have seen this before.
zeitgeist (the one about banks) tells a very similar story.
all of it makes absolute and complete sense.

since the beginning of human history there have always been a tiny manipulative ruling class. the only thing that has changed has been the vehicle of control. before it was god and physical oppression. those are still around.
but now, the masses are controlled with money.

while americans are busy focusing on 160 million in AIG bonuses and fighting among each other about tax increases the FED (A PRIVATE BANK) and OTHER (PRIVATE) INTERNATIONAL BANKING INTERESTS have siphoned off 9 trillion (not the 1 trillion you have been told about) of the nation's money. they told us that the deficit will be 1 trill in a year? just came out it's going to be 2.3 trill MORE. oops. miscalculated by 233%.

every successive recession and depression has been artificially created by the ruling banker class to allow an even greater transfer of money to them. (who do you think invented derivatives? an investment tool destined to fail on the grandest scale) ever wonder why the stimulus has not been working. or will not work? because that liquid has been used to buy up stable investments in a fire sale and not to open up credit.

obama is, and has always been, just a pawn to pacify the masses. to deliver to us (in his calm and articulate and reassuring way) the messages of those who have been in charge long before and will be in charge long after he came to office. and the masses will follow - just like masses youth, workers, and many well-educated have followed many others - lenin, hitler, stalin, mao (and that's just from the last 90 years...)

Obama bowing to an arab king - that's a shame. Hussein also said that USA si not a Christian faith country. Puting together this two facts I do believe that this guy is a radical muslim. Also he doesn't like the word "terrorist"......

Obama bowing to an arab king - that's a shame.

Enh, I don't think I'd read too much into that. Seems more likely to have been an ignorant thing to do, intended as a gesture of respect to another head of state, rather than the formal obsequious subservient genuflection the mouthfoaming conservative blogs are sputtering about.

Not that he should get a pass for it, but let's not get too wild-eyed about conspiracies.

If you're going to criticize a US President for kowtowing to the Saudi royal family, look no further than GWB. I'll bet the scabs on his knees still haven't healed.

Hussein also said that USA si not a Christian faith country.

It's not. ~80% of US citizens identify themselves as Christians, but the nation itself and particularly our secular government can't be called Christian.

Puting together this two facts I do believe that this guy is a radical muslim.

Also he doesn't like the word "terrorist"......

Of all the rich, fertile ground full of things to criticize Obama over, you pick these?

You know, conservatives might stop losing elections if they would criticize Obama and the democratic Congress for the stupid things they do using calm, rational arguments that don't appeal to emotion and a mob mentality.

I'm as thoroughly disgusted by the incompetence of the right as I am by the elected leadership of the left. For the love of god, Palin's still getting press and this Jindal clown is the new annoited one for the GOP. The Democrats are going to sweep the midterm elections too.

I was reading most of what you say on this blog and likking what you had to say until I realized somehow you most likely a Rush Limbaugh and Hannity listener
Tell me do you thing this country would had been better with Palin ahead?
I discount MCCAIN because of his age
How in the world with that education of yours you will believe Palin should be your commander in chief?
I voted the better of the two evils
PS the comment on muslims make you sound like the crazy lady we saw during the MCCAIN campaign

Exactly. There are a number of things about Obama's plans and actions to criticize without fishing and trolling with ungrounded race & religion bait.

People who get worked up and angry about Obama being a secret radical muslim or subjugating himself to the Saudi king aren't helping their cause. The rest of us just scratch our heads and wonder how they can so completely miss what's important and real, but fixate on fantasies. Moderates and swing voters saw that absurd craziness during the election and Obama won in a landslide, yet the far right seem to think they lost because they didn't go far enough.

I wonder if they'll get it before the midterm elections.

I am sorry if I was misunderstood - my comments were about "radical muslims" - the one that want to apply sharia law in Denmark and Sweden, the one that are responsible about 9/11 and other terrorists attacks and so on. Fortunately I met exceptionally nice muslims and I have friends among them. Regarding Palin - I don't believe that she should be commander in chief.
Obama is representing a majority at this moment - but doesn't mean that he's right. I want for my kids to grow up in a world were are crystal clear the value of work, the gender identity, the freedom of speach. Seems that a lot of these values are blurred with this incoherent socialist administration.
PS: I am a O'Reilly and Hannity fan.
Happy Easter!

So AMA - "the doctors society" is on the same line with Obama....Glad that I am not a member! They a misrepresented us in the past and they are doing the same job now.
Dear Mr. President,

You have given us the "audacity of hope" and the promise of change. You have vociferously indicated that our health care system is in need of major change. You have said that 50 million Americans are uninsured. Medicare is moving toward bankruptcy and taking down the economy with it. But where is the change, Mr. President?

It seems that the for-profit segment of the health care industry (pharmaceutical companies, AMA and the American Hospital Association) have got your ear. The same special interests that have given us the most expensive, poorest quality health care among developed countries (37th rank) are now suddenly pretending to be champions of reform.

Frankly, their legislative agenda is a patent effort to stop the public demand for a meaningful universal health care system through a single payer. They believe as long as they throw the dog a bone and push some sort of half measure through congress they will be taking the wind out of the sails of the public push for (God forbid) a nonprofit, single payer system. It reminds us of the multi-year attempt of the cigarette industry to wage a "stop smoking" campaign! The present push for fast-track legislation is once again putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop.

So far, all the talk seems to equate a single payer system with "government-run socialized medicine." We know that over the years the for-profit health care industry has spent millions of dollars to demonize "socialized medicine." Therefore, in the eyes of most people a government-run program is a non-starter. It is thought of in terms of long lines, poor service and increased tax burden. This myth is generally embedded in the public mind, despite the fact that all the developed countries have a more or less government-run service with universal coverage, giving much better care at half our per capita cost.

But let's not go down this path at all, which would require a major shift in public perceptions. There is another way, a much better and more efficient way that we can have universal health care, including preventive care, with good quality control, that covers everyone. It will save our economy over $1 trillion each and every year.

This is more than what we have spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars since 9/11. How can this be done? It can simply be accomplished through a nonprofit (I stress: nonprofit), single payer, people-funded, people-managed, private insurance agency. This plan is described in detail in the book Universal Health Care System for the United States of America, accessible at uhc.helpeachother.com.

In that plan, the government buys the policies for the elderly and indigent through Medicare and Medicaid, albeit at less than half the present cost. Other people and/or their employers buy the policies for the private sector. The management is elected by individuals named in the policy, regardless of who has paid for the policy, just like shareholders in a corporation. It is a non-profit, privately managed, single payer insurance corporation that runs like a co-op.

Mr. President, please glance at this plan or have your key people at least look at it. Over 90% of people who have read it are emphatically in favor of it. Many of the details are explained in the book and make the plan even more attractive. More refinements, no doubt, will emerge in the process of legislation and implementation. If instituted, the plan will save 1.7 million jobs, keep our industrial base at home, save our economy over $1 trillion a year, provide good quality universal care, keep us away from for-profit surgical knives, cut our budget deficit each and every year, keep Medicare from going bankrupt and also bring integrity back to our medical research and education.

Mr. President, we agree with the "don't let perfect be the enemy of good" mantra. But in this case, please "don't let tricky greed be the enemy of honest health care reform."

Mr. President, the American people need true health care reform, and you promised us exactly that. The nonprofit, universal health care system outlined in the book goes a long way to deliver on your promises.

A budget analyst is providing hard numbers on how President Obama's proposed historic expansion of spending, taxes, and debt will affect future generations of Americans.
The White House now estimates that the federal budget deficit will rise above $1.8 trillion in the current fiscal year, with the government borrowing 46 cents for every dollar it takes to run the government under the Obama administration's budget plan. Brian Riedl, a senior federal budget analyst at The Heritage Foundation, says such borrowing is virtually unprecedented in peacetime in American history.
"Even when President Obama was inaugurated, the deficit was forecast at $1.2 trillion this year," he points out. "Well, just in the four months that he's been president, $600 billion have been added to the deficit number for this year alone, to bring it up to $1.8 trillion.

Obama's Rob'n Da Hood again. Now everyone will pay the same interest rates. Good credit, crap for credit, it doesn't matter. Folks who pay on time will now be charged higher fees to make up for the dead beats. Next step is all folks making over 100K will pay off dead beat credit card holders.

Personal accountability has officially been left by the wayside.

It will be increasingly difficult for small business owners to get good rates to grow their businesses. Carl Marx is laughing his ***** off right now.

California bankrupt, more money for GM, praising the parasites of this society, turning the attention from real problem to "gay and lesbian" rights,
abortion a priority, marijuana - the future of this nation. Terrorists are "persecuted", taxes for CO2 emission, taxes for everything. Physicians unpaid. Teachers without money...Good job Obama!

now OBAMA wants to ruin health care.

On June 6th, in hundreds of thousands of homes across the country, we'll gather to launch our grassroots attack on health care. We'll watch a special message from our dear leader the anointed one. We'll build the teams and draw up the plans for destroying health care the same way we stole the election: Spreading lies one block, one neighbor, one conversation at a time. And we'll put those plans into action.
