obtaining dream prelim through SOAP?

I didn't apply to what is now my top prelim program. Any advice how to proceed? Should I take the chance of entering SOAP with hopes they might have unmatched positions?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all if it is your "dream" prelim it is probably pretty cush and the chances of them having an open spot in SOAP is pretty much nil. 2. This year with the all in rule your home institution will not be able to reserve spots for its own students who dont match so there is a decent chance that you will be scrambling to prelim surg and you may not get anything at all. Avoid SOAP at all costs.
