I just spent my morning trying to figure some things out:

1) U Denver (clinical) has not finished making offers yet. They should do so by the end of the week.

2) Georgia State is in the same boat

3) DePaul is finishing reviews tonight and notification should be make by Friday.

4) GWU doesn't answer the phone

5) Boston College (counseling) is starting their reviews todays, the secretary said decisions should be made in the next two weeks.

I just would like one interview...i'll be happy with that 🙄

Georgia State interview, February 15th, email from the Administrative coordinator

YAYYY!!

Got this email just now:

"I am sorry to let you know we have now contacted those students coming
in for further interviewing for consideration of our Ed.S. and Ph.D.
programs at Lehigh University's School Psychology Program.

We wanted to let you know so you can pursue other avenues for your
professional development.

Wishing you the best."

Basically if you haven't heard from Lehigh about an interview for school psych, you've been rejected.🙁

University of Florida, Department of Psychology
Counseling Psychology

e-mail from POI to request phone interview, 1/29 or 1/30

I know there is info. posted on the first page about interviews for VCU's Counseling Psych. PhD. However, I received an email a few minutes ago which stated "Faculty will be making offers over the next week or so". So there is still hope for those who are waiting to hear from VCU Counseling.

Hey, I am waiting to hear about interviews too..
One word of caution, I interviewed last year at UNCG, and was able to speak to several alumni, and they told me they did not like the program..anyone interviewing there..try to get some alum emails to get more info on the person who are interviewing with/want to work for..
thats probably a good rule of thumb wherever you interview!

University of Indiana- Bloomington. Clinical psych Ph.D. Email invite from POI, interview weekend 2/14-2/16.

Offers implies to me that they've already extended all their invites and will be making offers of admission, not invitation offers.

I specifically inquired about interviews so I am pretty sure that is what the responder was talking about. Also, the 1st page of this thread indicated that someone received an email from their POI at VCU stating that the two interview dates are 2/18 & 2/25. So even if your assumption about the implication of the email is correct, it doesn't make sense for the faculty to make offers of admission in the next week or so when the interview date is not until the end of February.

I just got the same email! 🙁

Thanks for the clarification. When I hear offer I just automatically assume admission. If you haven't received one yet, I hope you do soon!🙂

I had a co-worker FINALLY get ahold of the elusive George Washington University today. They informed her that they will be sending out their Psy.D invites throughout the next two weeks. So, if you see someone get one today or tomorrow, it doesn't mean you're out. 🙂

Just got my first interview invite!!

It's for Michigan State U, clinical psych PhD, emailed today from Dept secretary.

The interview is feb 15th. yay!!

Beware of MSU -- I have a friend who is in this program and she tells me so many horrible things about how the students are treated by the faculty! Apparently there have been many students over the years who have left due to mistreatment, discrimination and general mean-spiritedness of the faculty. She is miserable and it is horrible for her -- she works hard and never knows whether or not she will kicked out at any time just on a whim (yes, they do this to students!). She tells me that students appear very happy and cheery during the interview process because when they don't, the faculty 'punish' them by failing a comp, etc.
Take it or leave it, but don't say I didn't warn you.🙂

No problem. 🙂 This process is stressful for everyone so I am happy to pass on any glimmer of hope I can to fellow applicants. I also wish you well in this process. 👍

I called the director of the school psych program at Kent because I am crazy obsessed and was offered an interview! Interviews are Feb 13, 14, and 15.

Really?? I'm going to try that for all my schools!

thats what she said....???...

That was so funny, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. I'm glad somebody said it. Hahahahaaaaa. Nice one, Chia.

Clinical Psychology

George Mason, Ph.D.
CUNY, Ph.D.

Indiana State, Psy.D.
Baylor, Psy.D.
Rutger's, Psy.D.

i got an email from uni of florida saying they are making final decisions on interviewees tonight.

Is this for Clinical and Health or Counseling?

The only reason I am so anxious about this is because I recieved another invite which is during their invite weekend, but at this point I prefer UF. I hope to hear from UF soon, so that I don't leave the other school hanging!

Different people, different experiences. I know people at (and who graduated from) MSU who absolutely loved it. It's good to have information from previous students but you have to take it with a grain of salt, so to speak.

I am pretty sure it is to the clinical program. I contacted the admissions secretary as well and she told me that they will be extending invites beginning today until Friday.

I called both schools today and they both are still looking at applications and not done sending out invitations.

Hi all,
I emailed the administrative assistant at Drexel to see whether all invites for interviews have been extended and here's what she wrote back:

The Department of Psychology, Graduate Admissions Committee, is still in
the process of reviewing applications and therefore all interviews are
not yet scheduled. Hopefully, by the end of this week, early next.

Anyone heard from Fairleigh Dickinson or Texas A&M?

Thanks

Sorry, i didn't mention: this is for clinical ph.d.

If anyone else is waiting on UW...they sent an email today saying that applications are in review now and ppl will be contacted within the next few weeks "in batches."

Having interviewed there, that's interesting.

Is this University of Washington St. Louis (or is there another one) and it is the clinical phd? Their website says interviews are this weekend starting sunday and going through monday evening. I'm hoping it is WUSTL and that the website is a mistake because this I would love to go here. ALSO, what crazy ppl would schedule interviews during superbowl weekend (and during the game itself)

Haven't heard a thing from Texas A&M. Also, I got a similar email from Drexel just now. Roseanne, at Drexel, gave me the invite dates (listed in first thread) and said they are still reviewing and not invites have been extended. Good News for me!

Just for clarification 😀... University of Washington is located in Seattle, WA. WUSTL is actually Washington University, not University of Washington. Big difference. And the above poster was referring to University of WA in Seattle.

Hi all, these two are already posted as extending interviews to candidates on the front page. I just spoke with god at Rutgers (aka the grad secretary), she said ALL of the first round interview invitations have been extended. I'm not too hopeful about this, but she did say they it is not usual to only have one round because of mis-matches with POI's, after the first set of interviews (2/8 according to the first post) they may extend more. I think she was trying to soften the 'nope you're rejected' blow, I don't know how many schools have two rounds of interviews but I guess stranger things have happened. 🙁

I also spoke to the graduate secretary at Drexel. She said she wasn't sure if all of the invitations have been extended. She's going to email me later today to let me know. nice of her.

Rutgers was one of my top choices. I hope they decide to do a 2nd round of interviews... thanks for the info!

If this helps:

I got my Master's at Rutgers... and when you are on campus they have a little something called the RU Screwed.... it is very true.

It is a great school, so much so I believe it is actually under-rated (great resources, professors, and students) but they never N-E-V-E-R have their act together............ever. I would not be the least bit shocked if a second round of interviews is on the way...

The email from University of Florida was for Clinical and Health Psych program. Their "Clinical and Health Psych" is a separate department from the "Psychology Department."

Clinical and Health dept. provides concentrations in Emotion Neuroscience and Psychopathology (ENP), Neuropsychology, Neurorehabilitation, and Clinical Neuroscience (NNCN), Clinical Health Psychology, Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology.

I have heard that too. Many of the clinical student either end up leaving the program or transferring into the developmental program.

Call from Training Director re:invite for interviews 2/22, said email to follow.

Just got a voicemail from POI at Denver's PhD program. She didn't leave details, just to return her call.

They must be calling people now -- good luck all.

Not sure if anyone is applying there or not, but I received a dear john letter from Auburn University on 1/25 stating that I was not among those selected for interview. So interviews should be going out there soon if they haven't already. I can post the whole thing if anyone cares.

I called the admissions office at UT southwestern. The invites are going to go out the first week of Feb...
Not heard anything from :
U of houston
Texas A & M

Hi all - this is my first post on the site, but I have been stalking it for a few days now. I'm starting to freak out b/c I haven't heard anything yet. I wasn't expecting to get interviews from all of my schools (obviously), but I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING YET!! Does this mean I'm S.O.L?

Just in case it helps, I applied to the following clinical psych PhD programs w/POIs in a child/adolescent/family focus:
UNC-Chapel Hill
University of Virginia
George Washington U
SUNY Stony Brook
Boston U
Kent State (I know, I know, they're done w/interviews)
Miami (OH)

My GREs are pretty good (1410) and my GPA is a 3.84. What gives?! I'm starting to panic! I know i'm being irrational in all my worry, but still...

Guys, don't start worrying yet.

I was in full panic mode by this time last year. Trust me, some programs wait until February or even March to invite.

I actually just received an invite to Kent State yesterday, so don't lose hope. It must depend on the POI.

As for Chapel Hill, their website says they will notify by 2/1.

Unfortunately for some exceptional students, it's about a lot more than the GREs and the GPA. That said, don't stress too much - I know at least a few of the schools you listed aren't even planning to send out invites until next week.

the name of the game is patience, patience and more patience. i don't understand how posting one's stats on this site helps one's situation, really. the process is not black and white at all. there is so much grey, so you just have to keep the faith and keep it moving. honestly, i'm getting tired of reading about folks' stats and where people applied. when i come to this website, i want to read about useful information, not just read about how everyone's anxiety level keeps increasing. keep your eye on the prize and remain confident!

Thank you.

Any contact from the Virginia Consortium?🙂

Nope. Thanks for asking. I guess I'll be crossing them off my list. They weren't one of my top choices. All that driving around to the different campuses and the year-round schedule sounds exhausting. But it's a great program, so good luck!

Although I agree that posting individual stats is not always helpful to every person here, I think this forum serves more than the one purpose of gathering useful information, we are a community of people going through this very stressful process together. We are all under the same pressures and venting it in a forum full of supportive ears can be very helpful. I think your advice is right on target, but I also think we need to be a little more tolerant of everyone's anxiety - we're all in this together.

Congrats on everyone getting interviews! I am a first-time poster to this site.

I noticed that someone heard from SUNY Stony Brook weeks ago...I just got a call from my POI there today, so I wanted to let everyone know because it seems like they aren't sending out interview invites at any specific time! My interview is scheduled for Feb. 5th, and on the message I received it all sounded very laid back.

Hi All,

Long time viewer, first time poster! Just wanted to pass an open invitation to all of you interviewing at Stony Brook... I work in the area so if anyone has any questions about the campus, or wants a tour around the area if for some reason you don't get one from any students in the grad program, I'd be happy to lend my knowledge of the area. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions you may have.

Good Luck to All 🙂

I remember that!

-t

 I think everyone within a 5000 mile radius of me remembers that.

And then I found this forum and freaked out for about a week and calmed down a bit.

Then I got to grad school and realized that the freak-outs never end!

Hi, do you mean their clinical psy or counseling psy? I have just learnt that they have extended their interview invites in counseling psychology.
