I just got a call from WSU - clinical phd prog
Sorry for the late update today everyone!!! Got swamped unexpectedly 🙁 Anyway, everything is now up to date as far as I am aware.
To Loyola (MD) applicants - even though rejection letters have apparently already been sent out, nobody has reported getting an invite yet so hold tight!!! 🙂 Gotta figure that with the number of applicants there that are also on SDN, somebody has to be getting an invite 😛
On a side note to the rejection letters (and letters from them period), mine was postmarked for the 29th and I got it on the 30th due to being less than 30 miles away. Other, not-so-close people, should be getting them today (hopefully, some interviews in them).
There are 3 different tracks in the SDSU/UCSD program, so I would NOT freak out unless you fail to get a call by Monday evening - 1 track may be faster at calling than others. Seriously guys, this is a HUGE program and they are super disorganized, so don't worry too much about it. Especially if you have other interviews this weekend and in the coming week(s) ... there are other things to worry about. If you don't get in, hey there are other choices ... right???
As for the application is complete email, definitely follow up with admissions first thing tomorrow. Email Sandy, call Sandy, do whatever you can! My transcripts aren't listed on the Webportal but I did get TWO emails from Sandy stating my application was complete and like I said, I had faxed her my transcripts last week when she said she didn't know if they had them or not.
I would be mad about this disorganization too but my coworker already warned me about how horrible they are so it was expected.
just wanted to add that a coworker of mine heard from CU Boulder yesterday that all of their invites have been sent out. Just an FYI for anyone waiting.
Did the coworker happen to mention how candidates were notified? Ugh that sucks 🙁
Any idea when/if GWU has sent out invites/rejections yet? I'm dying to hear from them...
Email invitation--choice of 2/15 or 2/22--a total of 40-50 applicants will be interviewed.🙂
Congrats!! I was also invited to interview, however, already have interviews for both dates. I was thinking I would opt for the phone interview at either Indiana State or the other school but I was just wondering...has anyone here ever opted for the phone interview over an in-person interview and actually got in?? This idea makes me nervous...
Has anyone heard from Widener, University of Denver, Chicago School or Professional Psychology of Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology about interviews?
Thanks!
Steph
Six down, two to go. Wow, apparently someone thought they were cooler than they actually are....🙁
I have heard that some schools have a bias against students with a MA. Even a Non-terminal MA. Makes me scratch my head really....
Insights, experiences, comments, prayers?

Katie, Psy.D interviews are supposed to be going out this week and next week; I haven't heard about Ph.D though. Last year, they weren't sent until about Mid-Feb.
Thanks Layleh! Yeah, I'm waiting on the PhD program, not the PsyD... I forgot to specify. Uggghhh I don't want to wait that long! I've heard from all the other schools I applied to with Dec. 1st due dates...
Not a problem! You aren't alone on the wanting to hear from the school. I've heard from past applicants that they are notoriously slow, disorganized, and VERY hard to contact for questions via phone/email.
I phoned Graduate Admissions to ascertain that my application was complete and ready for review as the process begins tomorrow 2/1. They simply lost my entire package (ots, lors, cv, ect.) which was FED EXed and delivery confirmed w/ electronic signature TWO WEEKS ago. Evidence for the culprit was met with confusion and a shrug. The good news is that they have my application, which was submitted electronically (Computers 1; Humans 0). Moreover, they have no record of official GRE scores which were requested on 12/22/07 (I can't be sure who loses a point for this one).

I admittedly found guilty pleasure in the secretary's dismay when I curtly withdrew my application.
To all applicants to the Long Island University-Clinical Ph.D. program: Your chances just got slightly better, but proceed with caution! 🙄
i think it's time to give up hope. i got my official rejection this morning.
don't give up hope applicants, i just checked my voice mail and i got an invitation! (virginia consortium psyd program) bummed after reading that invitations had gone out already this week, I had mentally added it to my rejection list so it was a very pleasant surprise. hope this helps!!
it was a flat out rejection. they said i made it to the shortlist, but that they can't take everyone. i guess that is some consolation, but it's still a bummer.
Wow, the level of incompetence is astonishing! I can understand why you would want to withdraw your app, but will you get your money back?
I guess with all the invitations you've gotten -- is it more than 3 at this point? -- you feel like you don't need them? Was this for the Brooklyn or CWPost campus?

Bummer about Yale. Did they e-mail or snail mail the decision? I applied there too and haven't heard anything yet, but am bracing myself for the worst...it was a flat out rejection. they said i made it to the shortlist, but that they can't take everyone. i guess that is some consolation, but it's still a bummer.
are known for their horrific administration. last year they sent my application back and then sent me a rejection letter in july...
i'm still applying again - hope for the best
