Hey, I am waiting to hear about interviews too..
One word of caution, I interviewed last year at UNCG, and was able to speak to several alumni, and they told me they did not like the program..anyone interviewing there..try to get some alum emails to get more info on the person who are interviewing with/want to work for..
thats probably a good rule of thumb wherever you interview!

Hi, do you mean their clinical psy or counseling psy? I have just learnt that they have extended their interview invites in counseling psychology.

Fellow Loyola (MD) applicants,

Just for the record, this day last year was when they sent out their invites. Will today be the day? One can only hope. Good luck!

Emailed department secretary. She said that the meeting to select candidates for interview is scheduled for Feb. 11 and that she will be emailing all candidates selected for interview on Feb. 12. The interview day is Feb. 28.

I talked to the secretary and she said that the joint Clinical-Community program will be making decisions up to Friday. So basically, Friday at 5 pm is the last day you can expect to be invited.

As I have mentioned on here before I spoke with my POI from University of Southern California on the phone in late December. Having not heard anything I wrote to her to inquire if all interview invites had been made. She wrote back

"I think you are on top list but on hold. We have a lot of strong applicants-- still sorting thru but ask [DCT] for more info"

😕 I don't really know how to interpret that, except that it sounds like they are still looking at applications? Just wanted to pass on some possible hope.

I emailed the admissions person for the program and she said that the department is just beginning the review process and she is anticipating interviews to be scheduled for February, but does not know when potential candidates will be notified.

Depaul, too?! Man, this winter is not going the way I thought / hoped...

Well back to my exercises (staring into a mirror, "I am good enough, I am smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!")

This cracked me up! But in all seriousness... i totally feel your pain.

Hang in there!

I'll say to you what everyone keeps saying to me (even though i HATE hearing it): What's meant to be, will be.... or something along those "fate" lines... ugh

DePaul is still sending out invitations through Friday and that was only for the Community track. It doesn't appear that the child track has made their invites. Good Luck!

DCT has informed me USC has made all the interview invites. 🙁
Oh, well!

Emailed the program secretary. The interviews are being held on Feb. 22 & 29. Invites will be handed out within the next week or so.

Face to face interviews for Syracuse's clinical program are February 11 or 25.

I just got a phone call from Berkeley!! Their interview weekend will be February 22 - 23.

Good luck!!!

just got a call about american u interview.

if you're waiting out for that one and havent gotten it yet... dont give up YET!!

OMG congrats! I need this news b/c I got offered an interview the same weekend as Berkeley and I really need an answer either way. Would you mind PMing who your POI was? Also, did someone from admissions call you or was it your POI?

Also, for anyone interested in SDSU, they should have a firm decision by Friday at the earliest and Monday at the latest :O

Unviristy of Florida invite, e-mail from program assistant with letter from program director attached (hard copy to follow), clincal psych program, February 29th and 30th.

Inviting 45 students, expecting to accept 12-15.

Loyola (MD) has mailed out rejection applications; chances are they've mailed interviews too. Check the mailboxes, folks.

This year was over 350 applicants for 15 spots (roughly a 5% acceptance rating).

can someone tell me - who was the POI who called from berkeley? thanks!

Did anyone else applying to Univ. of Florida just get an email including travel information? This is the only email I received from them today, and it has 100's of email addresses on it. I'm confused about whether or not I have actually been invited for an interview.....

Just got an e-mail from DePaul...so does this mean that both good news and bad news is being sent through the mail?

Dear Clinical Child applicant,

Thank you for your application to DePaul's MA/PhD program in Clinical
Psychology. This year, over 300 students have applied for the 6
positions available. Communication of our decision will be sent via
postal mail, so please check your mail in the next few days for the
official notification of your status.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Klein

Sounds like they're letting you know your status through postal mail no matter what.

It's basically just telling you they are making their decisions, doesn't really mean anything.

I got it too. I think it was accidentally sent to all applicants instead of just those invited to interview. 😕 Unfortunately, it got my hopes up. :scared:

Haha, that email with travel information just got "recalled", yikes, looks like the departmental assistant just sent a lot of people on an emotional roller coaster.

That e-mail recall was not fun at all. I believe someone else just posted on the bulletin that he/she received the real email invite. I certainly didnt receive that - I guess I am out 😛

I got the fake out email as well. So not cool.

I'm still holding out hope for a REAL invite - I just got the THIRD recall email from them and clearly they have not extended all of their interviews (also they clearly do not have their act together...I guess 300-400 applicants will do that to you...)

Seriously, that was not fair. It sounds like the did sent out an actual email, and then the fake one? Whoever said this process was emotionally draining was right. Highs and lows. Not fair...

there's emotionally draining and then there's this. this is SO not right!

Boy, the longer this waiting game goes on, the more nauseous I feel. :scared:

I only applied to four schools....

University of California - Berkeley
University of Nevada - Reno
University of Wisconsin-Madison
University of Kentucky

So far, I have the interview set up at Kentucky. Come on, Berkeley! Ring, phone, ring!!!

Yeah, if it did, I'd probably still be a nervous wreck. Oh, well. We can all look forward to April when this is all over. And in the mean time....... :scared:

I submitted my application to SDSU in late November. In mid-December I contacted them to make sure everything arrived and they told me to check back later because the webportal website wasn't up to date. I checked back in early January and none of my transcripts had arrived, so I sent them both again. I have called them at least 5 times since then and they FINALLY told my one of my 2nd set of transcripts didn't arrive.. then told me the lead lady at graduate admissions would call me back before the end of the day after researching into it and tell me what to do. She never called so I called right before the office closed and she left an hour and a half ago! Did anyone else have this problem with SDSU? I have not had ANY problems with any of the other schools I've applied to. So now I have to call back AGAIN tomorrow, and obviously, by this point my application is not going to be considered and I just lost a lot of time/money (which I'm hoping they'll refund since they gave me the run-around for over a month). I'm pretty pissed off...

Sorry, I had to vent and I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Also, is there ANY way they will consider my application with the transcript from the school I graduated from missing when it's missing because of their own graduate admissions department? *sigh*

You're right, unbelievable! That kind of mistake is probably one of the most egregious a university can make in this kind of admissions process. This debacle is almost as bad, or maybe it is just as bad a UCF's last year when they emailed everyone their admissions decision. They attached the file to the email that said LASTNAME_Reject_01 well at least I was number one in something, right?

Who are you working w/ in admissions? I believe they are listing that transcripts haven't been received for anyone (although other applicants can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong). I had the same problem and when I emailed the JDP address, the admissions director was VERY nice and told me to fax unofficial copies of my transcripts and she would add it to my application JUST IN CASE the actual transcripts weren't already there/filed. It did take them 3 weeks to reply to me the first time though.

I completely agree~!

My mentors have resent my letters of reference 2x to UNLV, UNM, U Cincinnati, and U Connecticut. I mean I sent them with delivery confirmation envelopes, so it just can't be explained except through incompetence. And of course, I am the one who looks bad to my mentors because they are wondering why I keep emailing them every other day that my letters were sent somewhere, like I am accusing them of being incompetent. I mean come on!👎

Well, at one point I spoke with the JDP program and the girl told me she had just assumed my transcripts arrived at graduate admissions so she had marked my application as complete (which would probably be why I was never informed that it WASN'T complete....). I spoke with some Kelly girl at the graduate admissions office and she said Sandra would get back to me. :-/ And then Sandra didn't...

I don't see why they would list that trasncripts hadn't been received for anyone. One of my transcripts is listed and they spent about 20 minutes searching through all of the ones they hadn't entered to verify that my other transcript wasn't there. Ugh.. I don't know. I'm just going to call back tomorrow and try to speak to Sandra then. I E-mailed a Sandra (not sure if it's the same one) at the JDP a million times before and she never got back to me.

Hearing your issues with SDSU is worrying me a bit...I received an email in early January from Sandy Scott stating that the school had received my application and that it was complete. Was I supposed to call to ensure all my other documents were received as well? I assumed that her stating it was complete was sufficient...now I'm scared it wasn't!:scared:

You're fine. It's just me they hate. I never got an E-mail from Sandy Scott. Though I have E-mailed her SEVERAL times. She ignores each of my E-mails.

Yeah, I heard about the UF debacle as well - someone f'd up big time.

If anyone wants some info on the SUNY Buffalo or USF area, feel free to PM. Both are fun places to live, albeit some of the most extreme climates in either direction that you can possibly get🙂

I just got this (thoughtful) rejection e-mail from DePaul - so if you didn't get this I think that might be a good thing!!!

Dear Clinical Community applicant,

We have now completed our preliminary review of the more than 300
applications submitted to DePaul's MA/PhD program in Clinical
Psychology. You were highly rated, but not among the top 10% of our
applicants. Consequently, we are unable to offer you an interview at
this time. Your name has been placed on a waiting list and we will
inform you as soon as possible of any change in the status of your
application.

The Admissions Committee was impressed by your credentials, and it is
obvious you have established a record of excellence during your
academic
career.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Klein

I wouldn't call it a rejection e-mail. They put you on a waiting list and they will get back to you if they are not satisfied with the people they interview. It happens rarely but it DOES happen to some people.

The only reason I knew my transcripts were "missing" is because the SDSU Web Portal states it as so. Now, to give them the benefit of the doubt, because they have SO many applications to sift through AND because they required that we send our transcripts to the admissions office instead of the JDP office where the rest of your materials went, they are going to have one huge mess that is hard to match up. That said, I am so sorry they have been so bad at getting back to you. Sandy's email is [email protected] but she was REALLY bad about getting back to me the first time I emailed (it took a few weeks). However, she did reply to my emails twice today when I emailed the JDP address. Also, she let me fax my transcripts because I had googled her extension number (I looked up Sandra Scott JDP SDSU) and left her a detailed message about my "missing transcripts" asking her to call me back ASAP.

Actually, instead of pissing her off (in case she does have some weird thing against you - I doubt this, but hey who knows), maybe you should just fax copies of your transcript directly to the program. Isn't that number listed on the website (where they told you that you could fax your GRE scores over if needed)? You should totally do that LIKE NOW.

Oh my god! All this talk of SDSU-UCSD is freaking me out. I NEVER received an email from anybody about the completion of my application. I left several messages to the admissions secretary early in Jan regarding the completion of my application package and never heard back, so I thought no news is good news....but now I feel like I must track somebody down and get everything confirmed!!!

Well, it's after 11pm so I don't have access to a fax machine right now.. haha, but I think I will just fax my transcript over there tomorrow. I did E-mail the JDP address tonight and explained my entire situation and just asked if my application was still being considered. Yes, my transcripts did now show up as received on the web portal, which meant they weren't. Now one says it's there, but not the other - I called and they looked through the remaining ones they had to enter and said it wasn't there. The web portal is supposed to list them if they're there. I don't understand why they have such a confusing process. Anyway... someone did PM me and told me that this happened to them last year and their application was not reviewed and their money was not refunded. :-/ Hopefully I can take care of this tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

Thanks for all of your help!! 🙂

I would definitely look into it. At first I assumed they were just lazy with entering my transcripts into the web portal, but I have a friend that applied also so when she found out her application was complete I really started to worry. Not to scare you, but... they don't seem very organized over there. :-/

I was *just* going to write that, and then decided against it....and then I saw you reference it!

You can always count on me for blunt and borderline offensive commentary on all things psychology-related😉

What can I say....we all have our quirks.

Don't worry.. it wasn't ME (you should know by now I only post for my friend because I never get invited anywhere, HA), but my friend just got invited to interview day at SDSU/UCSD. She must have heard by E-mail cause I don't think they would have called this late. All right, now everyone can officially freak out.

There are 3 different tracks in the SDSU/UCSD program, so I would NOT freak out unless you fail to get a call by Monday evening - 1 track may be faster at calling than others. Seriously guys, this is a HUGE program and they are super disorganized, so don't worry too much about it. Especially if you have other interviews this weekend and in the coming week(s) ... there are other things to worry about. If you don't get in, hey there are other choices ... right???

As for the application is complete email, definitely follow up with admissions first thing tomorrow. Email Sandy, call Sandy, do whatever you can! My transcripts aren't listed on the Webportal but I did get TWO emails from Sandy stating my application was complete and like I said, I had faxed her my transcripts last week when she said she didn't know if they had them or not.

I would be mad about this disorganization too but my coworker already warned me about how horrible they are so it was expected.
