I received an email invite today from LLU. Clinical Psyc Ph.D. interviews are Wed. Feb. 27th from 9AM-1PM. Definitely not my first choice, but at least it's something! 🙂

I think I am more stressed than I should be. NOVA is my number one choice. They are more of an interest than others for me. However, my GRE scores are not up to part but, I have experience working as a counselor with MH inmates, 4.0 gpa, great letters of recommendation, and have been published. I have been going back and forth in my head as to rather they would even look twice. It is my understanding that the number of application received is high and therefore i'm likely at the bottom due to my scores.

Thanks for reading my vent. At times my family just looks at me as if i'm nuts.

when i attended their open house last year, the director said that weak points on applications are contrasted with the strengths. so don't stress too much about it!

From what I understand they assign points to each section of the application, and then rank them. One thing shouldn't kill your app if you are strong in other areas. Being published is a bonus, so that should help lift up a weaker area.

As for contact...I know packets go out in the mail with a letter of notification, though I'm not sure if they are e-mailing people too. It may vary by program (Ph.D or Psy.D). I know today was when they were hoping to get everything out, so if that means by snail mail, keep an eye out over the next week. I know the admissions people have been working really hard on getting the notifications out, so hang in there!
 
I haven't heard back from University of Oregon yet either. Hopefully it will be soon! Best of luck!
 
I heard from University of Miami yesterday. I attend UM for my Master's and have good friends that applied to the program that are sure to get an invite and they haven't gotten one yet ... Maybe they're still calling? Good luck! 🙂

Does anyone know when Long Island U plans on extending invites, if they haven't already??
 
if you are going to be there on the 22nd... PM me... I would rather know people before I/we go... I think it would make us all more comfortable during the group interview!...
 
Hey I just joined - I have heard back from Argosy University Atlanta with an interview on Feb 15th, Phone interview with Carlos Albizu University on Feb 19th and Open House with Florida Tech on Feb 29th.

I'm glad to see no one else has heard back from Nova yet though, that's my favorite school and I was getting worried.
 
Ok, so like everyone else I have been obsessively checking this thread daily and watching many of the 11 schools i applied to give interviews to people other than me. BUT, as I had reached my low. "let's figure out plan B" moment, something happened. In the past 4 days, i have recieved 3 invitattions to interview. One school invited me which had sent out invitations in EARLY JANUARY. SO...the whole point is that its not done yet.

Do you mind saying which schools? Were any of them new schools (ie. ones that haven't already been posted for sending out invitations)?
 
I go away for a day or so and come back to loads of PM fan mail and amorous posts! 😳 By the way for those of you who have been wondering about my avatar, it will hopefully be revealed when the time is right!

Some of my ex-girlfriends (well dating anyway) include: neurologists, clinical psychologists, forensic psychologist, and psychiatrists, so their reference letters sometimes help (well, they were all just starting out but still pretty impressive)! If I could only get their perfumes and lipsticks off the letters, they would look more official. The OB/ Gyn ex-girlfirend, offered to write letters on my behalf but declined! :laugh:

I am flattered and beside myself with glee! 😍 No need to disparage state schools. Besides having many of the top programs, they have produced some of the finest football fight (how does everyone like that example of consonance) songs ever! I do not believe in fall backs (safety schools) in the application process of love! 😍 I will definitely be applying using the on-line method!

Just be careful of your recruiting techniques. Schools, especially state schools, are always getting in trouble due to recruiting violations. Just to be safe, I told the PsychResearchGo alumni who contacted me that I could not accept the cars they were offering me! I told them I would only interview/ attend/ play on your own mertits! True love is the real prize! 😍

Wow, that is awesome! Congratulations! :hardy: See, it just shows that it isn't over until you get that rejection letter. Even then, I've heard of people who were initially rejected, but then were accepted later in the same application period. I know that specific example is rare, but it has happened. Anyway, thanks for that post!

In all of my recent excitement, I almost forgot that I can still do on-topic and serious posts! (Take that Therapist4Chnge!:laugh:)

I am not 100% certain on the number of invites but was told for certain, through a reliable source, that interviews were in fact extended on Friday (2/8). Also, not sure if all of these were done by e-mail or phone. The source told me that that his interview was by e-mail.

You've been warned.....they're talking about my beat-up 1978 El Dorado.......half covered with Bondo.....with one flat tire.......and faulty breaks. When I mentioned I was a state school, I didn't say what state I was in. Financially, it ain't good. :laugh:

I got my invite via email from Syracuse University on Friday for a "visit/interview" day on 2/25. They said they're inviting 12-15 applicants and accepting 5-6 of them!

None of them were new schools. The schools were UConn, Yeshiva, and PCOM. I am still waiting to hear from Rutgers.

I also applied to UConn and never got an interview. 🙁 Just wondering - is your upcoming interview scheduled for the 13th (the original day)? I'm also still waiting to hear from Rutgers. Their interview day was this past Friday, but I heard from someone on here that they may do a 2nd round of invites... I'm not holding my breath, but I'd be quite excited! Is that why you are still waiting to hear from them? Do you know anything about the 2nd round of invites?

Belle of the Ball indeed! Interviews so far with Empathiosis and PsychResearchGo are grueling! I have to go back for more interviews since each of them misinterpreted my statements! They were each spending too much time ogling me! :laugh:

A 1978 El Dorado! Negotiations may now hinge on whether or not I get to stick in a Bachman Turner Overdrive 8 track, plug in a "Mr. Microphone", and drive that baby! :laugh: Voice heard over the Mr. Microphone: "Hey good looking, I'll be back later!" :laugh:
 
I received an e-mail invite to the University of Toledo Clinical Psychology program yesterday. Interviews are 2/22 or 2/29. 🙂
 
I'm going to be attending the Florida Tech Open House. Since they dont' seem to have a host program, I'm going to get a hotel room for Thursday night (28th) and Friday night (29th). For those who are going if you're (1) Female) and (2) will be staying both those nights, pm me if you're interested in sharing a hotel room.
 
received an invite from my POI today.. this process is weird! they had sent their invites a while back but she indicated an 'error in the processing of my application'.. go figure!

Email invitation: This year, there will be three interview days, Monday, March 3, Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8.🙂
 
Hi all, I just got an interview with East Carolina University, set for Monday, March 3rd, just when i was discouraged I wouldnt hear back from anywhere else.

My UConn interview is the 13th. I am waiting for Rutgers PsyD not PhD. So I think there is still some time.
 
I had already given up hope of being offered an interview anywhere... I applied to 15 schools, received one formal rejection, and the rest of my schools had already offered other people interviews. I thought it was over.

But I just got a phone call from American's Clinical program! Woooo, I'm going to interview!! Seriously, guys, don't give up if you're still waiting. It's not over until an actual rejection comes. 😀

So who else is going to be in DC on the 25th??
 
I just received an email from the program secretary inviting me to interview with them on Feb. 28 🙂

According to the Northwestern website, "Students denied admission will not receive a letter from the university," you will get notification via their online applicant page. By this time last year, people had posted that their status had been updated - has anyone's been updated to reveal anything other than application submitted?
 
Has anyone heard anything from this program? Or have any updates on the interview invites?? It seems like forever since that application went in!

So far I've gotten interviews to 3 out of my 4 schools (all Psy.D. programs):
The Wright Institute (interview Feb 15)
Baylor Universtity (interview March 8)
George Washington University (interview March 1)

Congrats to everyone else out there who have been getting calls! This is so nerve-wracking!!!

Nope, I just checked my status too and it still reads application submitted.
 
I just got my invite to Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) clinical Psy. D program. It was actually an email telling me to check my status on their online website (I did an online submission). and the online website said I was selected to interview on 3/15/2008 and to email or call them back.

Let me know if anyone else got this, maybe i'll see you there!

Is anyone here interviewing at Wisconsin-Madison for anything in psychology? I can help answer questions if you have any!! And don't let the cold scare you off...it builds character...that's what I keep telling myself...
