Has anyone heard from any of the following schools (all clinical phds)?
American University
Boston University
Duke University
Oklahoma State University
Texas A&M
University of Albany (SUNY: Albany)
University of Central Florida
University of Iowa
University of Nevada Las Vegas
University of South Florida
They're not listed for clinical program interviews in the first post and I haven't seen them while browsing the thread, so I'm guessing 'no'... Thought I'd check. Getting Nervous b/c the other four I applied to have already been calling for interviews including Rutgers New Brunswick, my 1st choice (clinical phd)![]()

Just recently I spoke to the head of clinical admissions here at the University of Central Florida and she informed me that they were reviewing all applications tomorrow (1/25) and that they will let people know shortly thereafter.
Would it be rude/unprofessional to E-mail/call UConn [or any other school for that matter] to ask if my application is still being considered? I never received an invite to an interview and I know a few people have... plus their first interview day is next week. At first I thought it would be completely unacceptable, but I looked on last year's post and it appears a lot of people have done this before. I'm not anxious to receive my official rejection, but I would rather know than sit here and twiddle my thumbs.
xlittlemissalix,
I think it's too early for this! It's more common for applicant to make this move later in the season (late February or March). I think it's fine, as someone mentioned, to call and ask the department if they have extended all their invites, or if anymore will go out- but even if you have not been invited, this DOES NOT mean you won't be waitlisted or possibly contacted later for an interview or a visit (as someone else also mentioned, however uncommon it may be).
I think it's jumping the gun to try to confirm a rejection before a school even begins sending out rejection letters or emails. Chances are anyway, because it's still so early in the process, that a school may not even tell you if you've been cut because they probably won't even know yet. Many schools are still sorting through applications and they aren't prepared to notify students who have been officially rejected. There are some schools that have really rigorous cuttoffs that will reject applicants early on, like Loyola University Chicago- they love to chop applicants off the list early. I mean really early, like last week. If you don't know that one of your schools has sent out rejections, I wouldn't go calling every school you haven't been invited to yet.
Everyone who is new to SDN will soon see- the interview process is sloppier than one would prefer, and it is hardly a science. There is little common, standard practice when it comes to inviting and interviewing. People will receive interview invites even in March; some from schools that just invite late, and some from schools that are looking for better interviewees than their first set.
Know that these few months before rejections are actually quite blissful (however ridiculous that may sound). If and/or when you are feeling down in April, you may wish you were back in January and February when you were feeling hopefulness (it's just got to happen!) and a sense of accomplisment (I can't believe I got it all done!).
Enjoy the moment, kids.

This year's interview thread is moving much faster than last year's interview thread. Last year on this day (jan 24th) the interview thread had 334 posts but today this thread has 434 posts which is 100 posts more. That's almost 30% increase. Just a side note 😀
Interview invite via call from POI, interviews feb 15-16.
Has anyone heard from University of Denver, DePaul or Georgia State yet (all clinical)? Also, I'm waiting to hear from Boston College and NYU for counseling.
I haven't heard anything yet from anywhere...should I assume that UMiami and Santa Barbara (top choices) are out?
This process is so defeating!
Anyone heard from UT Austin (clinical) or UWashington?
I'm getting nervous as my phone has not been ringing much...
Anyways, U of Denver has not sent out invites and will do so in the next week or so (according to the secretary).
