Just got an email for Ohio University's child track. They offered dates of February 15 or March 7. They had emailed a letter from the POI.

i got an email invite from ohio university this morning. dates are 2/15 or 3/7.

Has anyone heard from any of the following schools (all clinical phds)?

American University
Boston University
Duke University
Oklahoma State University
Texas A&M
University of Albany (SUNY: Albany)
University of Central Florida
University of Iowa
University of Nevada Las Vegas
University of South Florida

They're not listed for clinical program interviews in the first post and I haven't seen them while browsing the thread, so I'm guessing 'no'... Thought I'd check. Getting Nervous b/c the other four I applied to have already been calling for interviews including Rutgers New Brunswick, my 1st choice (clinical phd)

I'm waiting to hear from BU as well...Just from checking this board obsessively, I don't think they've sent anything out. Someone might be so kind to call and inquire...

Just recently I spoke to the head of clinical admissions here at the University of Central Florida and she informed me that they were reviewing all applications tomorrow (1/25) and that they will let people know shortly thereafter.

I know we know the date for USF but has anyone received an invite?

PsyNerd...I am still holding out for 2 of those schools and I haven't heard anything yet either. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

GherkyLyn....thanks for the info. Are you a student at UCF?

I just received an email from UMASS Boston with an update about where they are in the reviewing process. They said those who will be invited for interviews will be contacted via email and/or phone between Feb 6th and 8th.

The two full interview days will be on Friday Feb. 15th and Friday Feb. 22nd.

Here's hoping!!!!! I'm pretty sure I'll be glued to my phone and comp in two weeks!!!

I don't know if anyone cares about U of Houston, but I called and they said they won't be extending interview invites for awhile. Maybe 3 more weeks.

Catholic University - phone invite from POI (2/23) for interview 2/4-5

Duke - e-mail from administrator (1/16) for interview day (2/1)

Clarification: the Catholic and Duke ones were for Clinical Psych

Has anyone else heard from Duke (clinical)?? I thought a lot of people on this thread were applying, so I was hoping no news was good news so far 🙁

Boston U clinical said they would be extending invites the first week of Feb...

Both Duke and Catholic had two interview dates last year. Duke's was only separated by a few days, whereas Catholic truly had two interview weekends. If you applied to Catholic and haven't heard, don't give up yet. As for Duke, I am not sure, if people are hearing I think that you should hear soon. For what it is worth I got a call from Duke last year about two weeks before that interview.

If you have any questions about Catholic or Duke, I actually interviewed at both and wrote a bit about them in the interview feedback area. Feel free to PM me as well (full disclosure: I don't go to either of those schools).

Would it be rude/unprofessional to E-mail/call UConn [or any other school for that matter] to ask if my application is still being considered? I never received an invite to an interview and I know a few people have... plus their first interview day is next week. At first I thought it would be completely unacceptable, but I looked on last year's post and it appears a lot of people have done this before. I'm not anxious to receive my official rejection, but I would rather know than sit here and twiddle my thumbs.

xlittlemissalix,
I think it's too early for this! It's more common for applicant to make this move later in the season (late February or March). I think it's fine, as someone mentioned, to call and ask the department if they have extended all their invites, or if anymore will go out- but even if you have not been invited, this DOES NOT mean you won't be waitlisted or possibly contacted later for an interview or a visit (as someone else also mentioned, however uncommon it may be).
I think it's jumping the gun to try to confirm a rejection before a school even begins sending out rejection letters or emails. Chances are anyway, because it's still so early in the process, that a school may not even tell you if you've been cut because they probably won't even know yet. Many schools are still sorting through applications and they aren't prepared to notify students who have been officially rejected. There are some schools that have really rigorous cuttoffs that will reject applicants early on, like Loyola University Chicago- they love to chop applicants off the list early. I mean really early, like last week. If you don't know that one of your schools has sent out rejections, I wouldn't go calling every school you haven't been invited to yet.
Everyone who is new to SDN will soon see- the interview process is sloppier than one would prefer, and it is hardly a science. There is little common, standard practice when it comes to inviting and interviewing. People will receive interview invites even in March; some from schools that just invite late, and some from schools that are looking for better interviewees than their first set.
Know that these few months before rejections are actually quite blissful (however ridiculous that may sound). If and/or when you are feeling down in April, you may wish you were back in January and February when you were feeling hopefulness (it's just got to happen!) and a sense of accomplisment (I can't believe I got it all done!).
Enjoy the moment, kids.

Ok, sorry for one of these types of posts again. Anyone heard from

Univ. of California Berkeley
UNC Chapel Hill
Emory

Thanks!

Spoke to Texas A&M this morning and they still have not sent out any invites and are not sure when they will go out.

I called Emory this morning and apparently they have already extended invites for their interview weekend Feb 7th-9th.

University of Virginia- Curry School of Education program, general applicant email invite, Clinical Psychology, Feb. 8 & 15 😀

Thanks Duckygirl. I didn't mean to say literally asking if I was being rejected because I know you are always considered pretty much until the end, but I was referring to asking about the interview invites.. just wasn't quite sure how to word it. Thanks though! 🙂 I think I'll just still wait to avoid sounding annoying to the schools. Haha.

I also applied to Albany and haven't heard anything yet, but I wouldn't expect to until at least the end of next week anyway - going off of last year's thread... they seem to do late invites.

I do, but i'm not a graduate student..although I hope to be one starting in the fall. However, i've begun working with my POI as an undergraduate assistant and that's how I found out the information.

The UNC website says that they will extend their invites on 2/1 for their interview on 2/22.

Anyone heard from UT Austin (clinical) or UWashington?

I'm getting nervous as my phone has not been ringing much...

i know at least one person heard from a professor at uw

Interview invite via call from POI, interviews feb 15-16.

Has anybody heard from the clinical PhD programs from

UT Southwestern
Sam Houston State University
Loma Linda University
University Nevada, Las Vegas
UCSD/SDSU

I'm getting nervous!!

I called Emory this morning and apparently they have already extended invites for their interview weekend Feb 7th-9th.

Does that mean ALL of their invites have been extended?

Yeah I got an interview at Sam Houston State University. My POI called my about 2 weeks ago. Interview weekend is feb8-10.
UNLV has not yet reviewed as far as I know....

I am still waiting for USF and Oklahoma, no word yet. I didn't hear from Rutgers either 🙁

This year's interview thread is moving much faster than last year's interview thread. Last year on this day (jan 24th) the interview thread had 334 posts but today this thread has 434 posts which is 100 posts more. That's almost 30% increase. Just a side note 😀

I really have no idea, but I assume so. I explained to the sec that I had applied to the clinical program and that I was wondering when the invite weekend was and if invites had been extended. She said feb 7-9, and that yes, the invites had been extended.

Thats all I got.

Has anyone heard from University of Denver, DePaul or Georgia State yet (all clinical)? Also, I'm waiting to hear from Boston College and NYU for counseling.

I haven't heard anything yet from anywhere...should I assume that UMiami and Santa Barbara (top choices) are out?

This process is so defeating!

That's a nice euphemism -- moving much faster -- for the reality of the matter -- which is that this year's applicants are obviously way more anxious and OCD than last year's. 😀

Has anyone had trouble looking at the school database? I cannot get it to load on my work or my home computer!?

Oh and since this is the interview thread:

Duke University -- Cognitive Neuroscience - February 8 and 9. (phone call from POI)

CUNY, Queens College -- Neuropyschology, clinical track - February 21. (e-mail from admin)

U of A -- someone already said, but 2/15-2/16

Interview invite via call from POI, interviews feb 15-16.

Awesome...child or adult track?

I did my undergrad at the psychology department at WVU, so if you have any questions about the department, life in Morgantown (and West Virginia), your POI, etc, feel free to ask. I worked with several professors and many doctoral students through being a TA, doing research, and undergraduate practicum. I didn't apply to my alma mater, but I'm always excited to let others know what it's like because I LOVED it.

PS: The happy hour/cocktail reception is pretty important time to impress (if they still do it), just a heads up. I remember the department talking about it a week after the fact.

😱Very same boat here!!! I haven't heard from ANY of my school but I guess it's good news that only 2 them have extended invites and one of them will continue to interview until march.... so there's hope for me.
Anyways, U of Denver has not sent out invites and will do so in the next week or so (according to the secretary).

U of Rochester will call by the end of next week.

ANYONE heard from U of Nevada-Reno?????????????

I am officially panicked!! lol

i thought there was a post of the first page that already listed UT Austin as extending interviews...

How about the clinical programs at UIC, UCSD/SDSU or Syracuse?

We will all need a long vacation and a strong drink when this is all said and done! Good luck to all!

I will say that I e-mailed SDSU this week to make sure my application was complete and I recieved an e-mail that said it was complete and currently being reviewed.

Just got an email from Oklahoma State University (stillwater, clinical phd). My secondary POI Jennifer Callahan is taking a job at University of North Texas 🙁 but says that applications have just begun the review process and will be extending interviews in a few weeks with interviews the first weekend in March (I guess March 1-2).

I guess it's a good thing she wasn't my primary POI, but that can't be good for my app.

YES!!! University of Denver is on my very very short list. I love that place and my POI is amazing. Would be such an amazing experience to gain training there. (social/affective; NOT clinical). 😉
