Well.. I got two interviews so far.

1. Indiana Univ. - Bloomington (Counseling Psych. Ph.D.)
invite: 12/12, interviews: 1/20-21, 27-28

2. Univ. of Missouri - Columbia (Counseling Psych. Ph.D.)
Actually I got interviewed today by a grad student. He told me the final candidates for the final interview at Jan.
will get an e-mail or call by next week, which means I'll know whether or not I'm still in by next week!! :scared:

Hi, Lovepsychology. Have you attended your IU interview yet? If yes, how was it? I am going for the 27-28 interview there. Thanks!

Has anyone else heard from UCLA? It is my first choice and I am getting extremely anxious having not heard from them yet...😱

Received an email from University of Florida, Clinical and Health Psychology Program (Ph.D). Interview dates are .scheduled for February 29th - March 1st 2008. They have not extended interviews yet, that I'm aware of. Invitations should go out by the end of this month.
.

My friend received a phone call yesterday (at approx 6pm) for an interview at the Yeshiva PhD on 1/29.

According to the secretary, applications will be under review until Thursday 1/24/08. Invitations furnished by email as late as Thursday.

Good Luck.

It is fine if many of you like to use abbreviation such as: PI for Professor/ person of Interest, DCT (director of clinical training), or PS for personal statement; however, using intials for the names of schools is generally confusing. There are exceptions. I admit that I can not think of another school other than University of California Los Angeles to which UCLA could be referring. In anycase, I suggest that everyone please just give the school's full name for the sake of clarity.

Hi all! I received a phone and e-mail invite from my POI at the University of Western Ontario (Clinical Ph.D.)... The interview/open house for shortlisted candidates will take place February 8th.

Hello everyone. I recieved my first invite today from Loyola University Chicago (Counseling Psych)! The interview date is February 11. Wish me luck.

Just got my first interview invite!!

Edit: It's for the PhD program. I incorrectly assumed that it was PsyD (didn't know they had a PhD program too). I just heard that Rutgers sent out some invites so I figured it was PsyD but it has since been confirmed to be for the PhD program only. Sorry for the confusion!!! Have edited the list to reflect the specific program.

The Rutgers PsyD interview day is on Monday, February 25. If last year is any indication, they invited up until the week before. Anyone know how many people they interview? They got 485 apps last year.

Thank you GiantSteps - this is also helpful for me as I don't always know what the abbreviations are short for (there are lots of BU's, U of I's, U of M's, etc) I want to make sure I list schools correctly so please spell out the school. Also, please state what kind of program it is if you are willing to share that information, particularly if the school has a variety of programs (ie: clinical vs. counseling, PhD vs. PsyD).

According to the secretary, applications will be under review until Thursday 1/24/08. Invitations furnished by email as late as Thursday.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the info! Just a reminder to everyone that schools on the list are schools that have sent out/are sending out invites. Feel free to post when schools are expected to send out invites, but I will just add them to the list when invitations have actually been received.

FYI this is incorrect - the actual interview day is Feb. 4th

I double checked the list to make sure it reflects the actual interview day - thanks!🙂

Lastly, congrats and good luck to bellecalle, JungandHorney (creative ), thewesternsky, and NYCPsych's friend!!! :hardy:

The Rutgers PsyD interview day is on Monday, February 25. If last year is any indication, they invited up until the week before.

According to the Rutgers website, the School Psychology PsyD interview day is February 28. I applied to the School PsyD program and haven't heard anything from the school since I submitted my application.

Info for those who applied to Uni of Florida Clinical and Health Psych:

I called the coordinator today and she told me that apps will be reviewed next Monday and Tuesday. Those who are selected for interview will receive an email from her by next Friday. Good luck everyone!!!

SUNY - Stony Brook - 1/19 contacted me for face-to-face interview scheduled for 1/25
U Pittsburgh - 1/22 contacted me for phone interview and to schedule a face-to-face interview "depending on our match"

Nope. I applied to both Miami and Vanderbilt and haven't heard a thing from them yet...so i'm getting kind of nervous.
Miami (UMiami) is looking at apps now... they've started contacting people... good luck!

UMiami should be the University in Miami (Florida)

I thought it has already been established that UMiami has already made offers and their interview weekend is early February...

Oh geez - didn't even bother to check my own list 🙄 Thanks IWantAPhD! Maybe it's in reference to a fourth track? I have no idea 😛 Anyway, for now I'm not addding anything to the Miami listing until new/more info comes out.

For those wondering about U of Miami (Florida) - check the first post as there is info for a number of tracks already posted.

To be clear, I ascertained that Thursday 1/24/08 will be the final day for application reviews AND email invitations to interview. 🙂

Have some people received interview invitations already? If so, I'll post it.

edit: just saw that Texas Tech is already on the list. My goodness I suck today 😛 Note to self - first check the list THEN respond! *d'oh!*

on-site interview, notified via email, interview 2.18.08

Also - does anyone have more information on Penn State's clinical program - or who the POI was that contacted the student for the adult track program?

Thanks!!

oops, I forgot to say that UT Austin's counseling psych program... 🙂

Fun program with good people. I interviewed there last year. You'll enjoy everything but the bitter cold!

This is a question for those of you who have been on interviews before. I noticed that a lot of programs have day long interviews that involve an orientation to the program (which lasts most of the day) and time slots for actual interviews with POIs and graduate students. I was just wondering if this is the only time one would interact with the POI on an individual basis? Meaning, will this be the most nerve racking part of the entire interview? Is this when all the questions about the applicant will be asked? It doesn't seem as though there will be a chance throughout the day to be interviewed one-on-one. Does anyone know more about this?

Would it be rude/unprofessional to E-mail/call UConn [or any other school for that matter] to ask if my application is still being considered? I never received an invite to an interview and I know a few people have... plus their first interview day is next week. At first I thought it would be completely unacceptable, but I looked on last year's post and it appears a lot of people have done this before. I'm not anxious to receive my official rejection, but I would rather know than sit here and twiddle my thumbs.

I think if you're pretty sure that a school has extended invites, and the interview day is coming up, then it would be ok to call them. But this is my first time applying, so maybe someone else would know better. I know how you're feeling about the waiting though... good luck! 🙂

Sorry I think I left this out of my previous post but the University of Virginia interview dates are Feb 15th or Feb 22nd (choice of two dates).

I was invited to the UConn interview, and I called the secretary to see how many applicants are being invited. However, it did not seem that she knew much because she pretty much told me that all professors are different. I was invited on January 12. You should definitely call to find out if they are extending any more interviews...

Ya, but it's not over till the fat lady sings... LOL, my application was no longer being considered at U of some state in the Northeast and April 17th I got a call asking if I was interested in attending... No interview, no expectation of getting in... rare but it happens.

The only real reason to call is if you think for some reason there was a mistake where your application wasn't considered as complete and reviewed. In which case you want to call before the interview date to verify the status of it.

Has anyone else heard from UCLA? It is my first choice and I am getting extremely anxious having not heard from them yet...😱

I heard from them yesterday afternoon. They did a mass email with interview details and there were 31 names on the email list.

If anyone has gotten an interview for Vanderbilt, UMiami, or Pittsburgh, please PM me with who it's with so I can cope with the fact that I probably won't be getting an interview 😱

I received an email from my primary POI informing me that I should anticipate a phone call and verbal invitation to interview in late February/early March.

Zowee!

I almost wish i did not find this forum. i have been reading all the pages this morning and a number of the schools i applied to (clinical psych ph.d.) are listed... i have not yet heard from any... where can i find a comprehensive list of schools that people keep referring to?

It's great how supportive and helpful everyone here is!

Hi- new member here- has anyone heard anything from Boston University? The application deadline was 12/1. 😳

Welcome. You can find the list on the first page of this thread. BlindChaos updates it daily.

I applied there too, but from what I've heard, BU is usually pretty disorganized/late with everything. I probably wouldn't expect anything until at least next week.
