(specialto kuhlguy- my waitlist twin)
For those of you accepted from the OOS waitlist at UVM, did you only receive an e-mail, or was your status page updated as well?
I haven't quite decided yet. Any suggestions? Is it a bad idea to reapply to schools I am still sitting on the waitlist for? If so, I could go ahead and apply to those schools I did not apply to last go round and add those I am WLed at at a later time.
YayYayYay! I've been rooting for you, Nehc! And DMS, too... We can be classmates! Woohoo! You deserve it!
AH! You got into DMS too! That's awesome! I totally missed seeing that 🙂 Aw, I'm glad things are working out so well!! I remember how frustrated you were in March. Are you headed to DMS for sure then?
Congrats again! 🙂
Yay, dreams do come true! Haha (I know, I had too much sugar today..)
I'm kind of surprised so many top tier schools have so much movement this early. Columbia, DMS, Cornell, Penn... I guess WL really aren't as bad as we thought.
Has anyone heard anything about the movement (or lack thereof) of VCU and Jefferson's waitlists?
Thus far I have only seen one oos person accepted to VCU off of the WL, and I have not seen anyone accepted to Jefferson since the fifteenth. VCU and Jeff where are you???
I wonder if they just didn't have much movement around the 15th?
I also have not seen anything from anyone from the other school that I am waiting for (the University of South Carolina SOM).
what do you think?
Cornell (today) and NYU (5/13) waitlists came through for me. I am forum-challenged, so if somebody could add me to the list I would be most appreciative. I am speachless right now. My goal was to stay in NYC for personal reasons, and to have the opportunity to do it at my top choice school (Cornell) is an unbelievable honor. Hopefully someone will make good use of the Pitt and NYU spots that are about to open up.
I don't post much, but I've been reading this thread incessantly for quite some time. Applying to medical school has been a dizzying process. I was in the same boat as a bunch of people on this thread; several interviews, high hopes in February, crushing defeat at the hands of the waitlist beast in March, and prolonged uneasiness ever since. I had one of the infamous second interviews at Columbia a few weeks ago, and the silence between then and now only served to increase my anxiety.
I wish everyone else the best of luck in the waitlist process. Let your schools know how you feel!
maybe there's hope for washu and vanderbilt?
thanks for all the support guys. i really needed it.
Late application???, No clinical experience??? crappy LOR??? If you dont get in ask the adcoms what you can do to improve.waitlisted at nyu, downstate and stonybrook
I am not a happy camper
With my stats I thought this would never happen-
Having a real bad year- Hope me being on this board will help.
3.9 GPA

go figure?????
sooo ... i withdrew from uci ... but then they accepted me ... withdrawing tmmrw so hopefully someone on here gets bumped up!
does an update consist of me sending news on quitting my current job and working full time at a bakery (where the cake is free and oh-so-delicious)? i only have another two months until i start school again and i didn't want to keep working 12 hr days at my medicine-related job. it's not amazing news, but is that what is classically considered to be an update? and what about when i quit in two weeks and move back home to be with family and do absolutely nothing?
from the florida thread, i know all of the florida schools have seen waitlist movement, albeit very slowly
Does sending a letter of intent help? Can you send LOI to more than one school? Did you guys send them?
Thanks for the forum -- it makes the wait easier.
