so maybe this is a bit of a dumb question but here goes (hopefully it makes sense):

I understand that may 15 is the last day to hold multiple acceptances. Do schools wait until that day to start sending out almost all acceptances to sort out their lists and know exactly how many letters to send out at once? Or have they generally been sending them out as spots open up? (as in, will the rush of acceptances starting may 15 be built up of the past couple weeks of people making up their minds, OR is it primarily from the rush that comes from all the withdrawals happening on Thursday? the former would be preferable to us all, I think).

I really don't want to reapply this year.waaaaaaaaaaaaaa....... I hope they send out those letters this friday (and that one goes to me) so I don't have to redo my AMCAS for $700 again, only to be accepted in mid June. That would be so annoying.

WL acceptances will, for the most part, be by telephone or email... rapid communication.

And I think the "start on May 15" idea will vary by school... some before and some much after, this is the adcom's game, not ours...

I really do wish this process was made a bit faster... like shorten the interview period to be done in march, make april 15 the equivalent of may 15, and let us all get on with our lives without this insane stress.

I completely agree... it makes things very complicated
 
let's say a school calls to accept you off the waitlist, but you're not there answer the call. do schools usually leave a voicemail msg and then a couple of days to return the call and accept the spot, OR do they just move on to the next person on the list? (that would be cruel!)

Hey guys, I was just wondering if any schools (particularly VCU) wait to compile all the may 15th withdrawls and then send out a mass acceptance notice. Or is it just a gradual process?

I'm betting that tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, and Monday will all be nuts, thanks to the variety of methods schools use to contact people. The emails and phone calls will be sent/made tomorrow and Friday, and snail mail will probably arrive Saturday and Monday, mostly.

I think that it's going to be pretty quiet. Waitlist acceptances have been picking up for a while now. There will probably be a marked increase in the number of people that start getting in off of waitlists, but I don't know if I think that there's going to be a huge surge of acceptances. Here's hoping that tomorrow is the beginning of a great waitlist acceptance season :luck::luck::luck:
 
Yeah, I don't really see it as a "Match" day.
 
yea just because schools start making the decisions tomorrow doesn't mean that it's an instant notification nor an instant decision. But I really hope I hear something tomorrow or Friday. I can't take this anymore - not for the 2nd time!!

I feel for you hsentar...Second year waitlisted for me as well, just wish I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

oh man, i am glad today is free coffee day. nice having chemicals distraction from thinking about waiting.

please please please someone let me in. I don't want to write any more essays or talk about myself and what I've done for the last 5 years or say in eight compelling sentences why I am applying to medical school or upload < 350 megabyte photos of myself or ask a professor to write about how smart i am or tell a nuclear physicist I've never met before the one person who has inspired me to want to be a doctor. I just want to learn about interstissial pressure and chushing's syndrome and how to ask someone about their cheif complaint.

Isnt there one school who beleives I can do that well?
