I was emailed yesterday for an interview for USF's School Psych Program (although you're probably referring to the clinical program)...dates are Feb. 6th and 13th.....I also applied to UCF's clinical program and haven't heard anything back yet....

Yes, the clinical program but thank you for the response and congrats on the interview!

So, when the first school called me about interviews I was totally flustered and said yes with no hesitation. (I haven't bought a plane ticket yet.) However, another school I applied to has interviews the same day. I might be more interested in the other school. Not to make any assumptions, (the only reason I ask is I got on the waiting list last year, I know, still not any kind of guarantee for this year), but in a glorious hypothetical universe in which I had an embarassment of riches and did get an invite to the other school and wanted to go to that one more, what's the protocol?

On a more general note, if you get an invite to one school and have a preferred school which you're waiting to hear from and know has the same date - what do you do?

schools understand that you are applying to numerous schools. they understand the process is competitive. they dont expect you to turn down interviews. you just ask if there is another day you can interview because of an interview scheduling conflict. if not, call the other school and try and sort it out.

Hey all, just received notification this morning from my POI informing me that I have received an interview and will interview the weekend of February 27th At the University of Pittsburgh for the Clinical Health program. YAY!!!

I heard from the secretary at U of Denver (Child Clinical PhD), and she says that all interview invites have already been sent...thought I'd post just in case anyone out there (like me) was hoping that they were still sending out some invitations. 🙁

I risk sounding like an echo but could the person that heard from Stony Brook PMing me their POI? Congrats on the invite!

Can the Stony Brook person also PM me with their POI and interview dates??

Any news from Rutgers??? I havent heard from CUNY besides a confirmation email that my materials were received.

SMU interview 2/13-2/14.

I got an email from Rutgers (i emailed them first) saying that the profs were just getting the applications in their possession sometime this week and interview invites would not happen until next week (at earliest). They also said (BRACE YOURSELVES) that they were cutting back interviews and acceptance invites "significantly" due to less funding this year. 🙁

Oh mannnn. Thanks for the update!

Just FYI, in case you were wondering, it appears everybody that applied to DePaul got that email seeing as nobody who applies to DePaul notified me that they did NOT get that email. Can you imagine typing in allllllll those email addresses? I sure hope they have some easy way to pull it from the applications. I mean wow...

Bollocks! They accept, what, 12 people as is? Scary times :smack:

My first invite! I got a call from my POI at Catholic University for interview on 2/2 or 2/3

Heh. No, it would be an automated email list. They're very easy to implement. Tbh, it would take *much* more time to go through the applications and narrow them down before sending an email.

Thanks for the info. about CUNY. Suppose this is redundant, but no news from Rutgers here either. I wonder how many other programs are also cutting back due to funding 👎

No, I didn't get an interview at Northwestern Evanston. Did you? Did someone? All I saw was that they were meeting today.

oh woops. yeah sorry i guess they are just meeting today then. got over-zealous! i'm waiting to hear back from NU Feinberg. good luck tho! 😱

Call from Catholic tonight - interview 2/2 or 2/3

Anyone know what is going on with any of the following schools? Have invites been extended? Are invites complete? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

U Mass Boston
U Miami Clinical (Adult Track)
U Missouri St. Louis
Penn State Adult Clinical

I got an interview from LSU (Clinical Ph.D.)...interview date is 3/6

Thank you so much for offering your insight about IUP, I would have never thought to ask about student housing since they didn't offer it, I will check on that tomorrow! I have a question about traveling. How do most students get from the airport to the university? I called cabs and shuttle services and they all charge over a hundred dollars one way. Is it relatively easy to drive in the weather that you have there? (I'm from LA and scared!) If it is I would much rather rent a car.

just to clarify, are you referring to the psy.d. or ph.d. program at rutgers?

I got an invite today on for a group and two faculty member interview and tour on friday the 13th of Feb.

Hi Everyone, I got an email from the head of psychology graduate admissions of the University of Vermont for an interview for the clinical program on 2/27.

Can the person who received an interview from USC let me know who his/her POI is? Congrats and thanks!

Congrats to the person who received an interview invite from USC! I would really appreciate it if you could please PM me with the name of your POI.😀

Ok I'm officially scared now. SOOOOO many schools have extended invites. The list is already SOOOOO long and even though many of my school have not sent out ANY invites i can't help it but to FREAK OUT!!!😱

Anyone with me on this?????:scared::scared:

Congrats to the person who got an interview from the University of Virginia! Did you apply to the Clinical program or the program in the Curry School of Education? Thanks 😀

Congrats on the invite from West Virginia (whomever you are)! Would you please PM me your POI? Just curious. Thank you and best of luck!

One more call!

Rutgers: hasn't sent out any invites yet, should be sending by next week but they were delayed because there was a conflict with their original interview date. They're now looking at 2/9 or 2/13 for potential dates, but nothing is set in stone yet.

(I must seem like such a mega-nerd, but more information = less anxiety in my book. 🙂 )

I am TOTALLY with you!! I am in the same boat, where most of my schools haven't sent anything yet, but I am still completely freaked out and a total wreck!!!! 😱😱😱

I'm in class and updating from my phone...I just got an email from Temple inviting me to an interview on Feb. 2 or Feb. 6th. My first and probably only interview invite!!

I hope you guys got them!

Just a little note that may calm a few folks...

I found out from someone who works in admissions at GWU (PsyD) that they're sending out invites according to alphabetical order of last names. I'm betting that a lot of schools (especially larger schools or PsyD programs that invite more people) do this. I just called Yeshiva (also PsyD) to confirm that they have recieved my application, and once I told the woman on the phone my last name (it begins with an S), she told me that she's certain they haven't processed my application yet. So for those of you with last names near the end of the alphabet & haven't heard anything yet, maybe there's no reason to worry! 🙂

Not sure if anyone else is still waiting to hear from George Mason University. I just looked up some info on their website and it states that they should have all interview invites sent out by today. Just thought I would share in case anyone was interested.

Hi.. could the person who got a call from UVA please PM me with your POI as well, please!!! Thanks and congratulations on your interview!!!

Omg good to know - mine starts with P! Maybe we'll hear around the same time 😛

I have been calling Yeshiva for the past couple weeks asking them if they received my application. They kept telling me it wasn't processed yet and to call back the next week. I just called today and they finally said they have it (last name starts with 'M'), but they don't have my Letters of Recommendation!! I sent everything together in one big packet!!!

The lady on the phone told me that they have TA's opening all the packets and they'll have to do a search. I don't know what the admissions process is like, but it seems to me that they should open a packet and put everything together in a file for review. Is that wrong to assume? Has anyone else had any problems like this with Yeshiva or any other school?

I'm nervous now that the time it takes to find them will hinder the chances for my application to even be reviewed in time....

I saw that someone got an interview invite from Yeshiva? Has anyone else gotten one for the Clinical PsyD program? It seems like they are giving out invites before even looking at all the applications...

I just called Yeshiva. They're definitely still processing/deciding about interviews. The woman told me that they'll make phone calls or extend email interview invites the first week of February. In terms of the person who heard, I don't know his or her individual story, but what I do know is that some people who are "connected" in some way to Yeshiva (they know the Dean, faculty, etc.) have heard. My best friend's co-worker had their boss, a Yeshiva grad, write one of her LORs. The boss called the Dean to "check" on this girl's application. The next day the co-worker received the invite, despite only having submitted the application a few days before on the January first deadline.

If the person who got an interview at UVA applied to the clinical program, could you PM me your POI? Thanks and congrats 🙂

Fordham - Concerned about the mass email invite that people (not me) received yesterday, I decided to contact the department. The secretary was really nice and said that she knows for certain that they are NOT DONE inviting people yet, so there is still hope! Don't know if anyone else applied there, but just thought you would want to know.

I was really thrilled to see this because I would LOVE to get an interview at Fordham. I don't suppose anyone has heard from them since the initial "mass email" sent out on 1/19? Their interview dates are terribly soon, and I don't want to foster false hope... But I'm hopeful until proven otherwise! :luck:

I just spoke with someone at UMD College Park and they said that the invites have most likely all gone out, but she thought there could be some left. Not that this is helpful at all, just thought I'd let ya'll know. 😳

I haven't heard anything else since I spoke w/ the secretary that day (Tuesday?) I can't remember anymore.... the days are all blurring into one! 😱

So I work in hospital and when I'm in L&D or some other areas, my cell gets no reception. I'm really worried that a DCT or POI will try to call and I won't get it. Do you think it would be appropriate for me to give the grad school coordinator or whomever my pager number and ask them to page me? Its really the only thing I have on me all the time. My office phone, my cell, both are only good some of the day. Do you think this would just make me appear to be high maintenance or annoying? Or do you think that it would be more negative for them to have to leave a message with my receptionist or voicemail? Which is the most negative of the two possible scenarios: pager or phone?
God, I am a spazz!

This is mostly speculation, but I would assume that POIs/DCTs are used to getting voicemails around this time of year...we all are living in fear of unknown numbers! I'm sure getting your voicemail wouldn't make a bit of difference to them.

I definitely don't think you should request that they call you at any other number than the number that you gave w/ your applications!!! They have enough to deal with/keep track of, and they are probably not going to be pleased with any special requests. Especially since you don't even know if the school(s) are definitely even interested in you or not... I think it would definitely seem odd to them.

I mean, even if your phone doesn't have service, they can still leave a voicemail, and you can call them back. I know that playing phone tag isn't the most pleasant thing in the world, but I mean, you also want to be prepared for the call, and not in the middle of work, or running around outside or something like that. You want to speak w/ them at a time when you're calm & focused. That's just my personal opinion!
