haha... did you get an interview there too?

I was emailed yesterday for an interview for USF's School Psych Program (although you're probably referring to the clinical program)...dates are Feb. 6th and 13th.....I also applied to UCF's clinical program and haven't heard anything back yet....
schools understand that you are applying to numerous schools. they understand the process is competitive. they dont expect you to turn down interviews. you just ask if there is another day you can interview because of an interview scheduling conflict. if not, call the other school and try and sort it out.So, when the first school called me about interviews I was totally flustered and said yes with no hesitation. (I haven't bought a plane ticket yet.) However, another school I applied to has interviews the same day. I might be more interested in the other school. Not to make any assumptions, (the only reason I ask is I got on the waiting list last year, I know, still not any kind of guarantee for this year), but in a glorious hypothetical universe in which I had an embarassment of riches and did get an invite to the other school and wanted to go to that one more, what's the protocol?
On a more general note, if you get an invite to one school and have a preferred school which you're waiting to hear from and know has the same date - what do you do?

I risk sounding like an echo but could the person that heard from Stony Brook PMing me their POI? Congrats on the invite!
Any news from Rutgers???
Can the Stony Brook person also PM me with their POI and interview dates??
Any news from Rutgers??? I havent heard from CUNY besides a confirmation email that my materials were received.
SMU interview 2/13-2/14.
I got an email from Rutgers (i emailed them first) saying that the profs were just getting the applications in their possession sometime this week and interview invites would not happen until next week (at earliest). They also said (BRACE YOURSELVES) that they were cutting back interviews and acceptance invites "significantly" due to less funding this year. 🙁

Just FYI, in case you were wondering, it appears everybody that applied to DePaul got that email seeing as nobody who applies to DePaul notified me that they did NOT get that email. Can you imagine typing in allllllll those email addresses? I sure hope they have some easy way to pull it from the applications. I mean wow...

No, I didn't get an interview at Northwestern Evanston. Did you? Did someone? All I saw was that they were meeting today.

Ok I'm officially scared now. SOOOOO many schools have extended invites. The list is already SOOOOO long and even though many of my school have not sent out ANY invites i can't help it but to FREAK OUT!!!😱
Anyone with me on this?????![]()
Who ever heard from UVA, would you be willing to share your POI?
Are you referring to the Rutgers PhD or PsyD program? Or both?
Just a little note that may calm a few folks...
I found out from someone who works in admissions at GWU (PsyD) that they're sending out invites according to alphabetical order of last names. I'm betting that a lot of schools (especially larger schools or PsyD programs that invite more people) do this. I just called Yeshiva (also PsyD) to confirm that they have recieved my application, and once I told the woman on the phone my last name (it begins with an S), she told me that she's certain they haven't processed my application yet. So for those of you with last names near the end of the alphabet & haven't heard anything yet, maybe there's no reason to worry! 🙂
I have been calling Yeshiva for the past couple weeks asking them if they received my application. They kept telling me it wasn't processed yet and to call back the next week. I just called today and they finally said they have it (last name starts with 'M'), but they don't have my Letters of Recommendation!! I sent everything together in one big packet!!!
The lady on the phone told me that they have TA's opening all the packets and they'll have to do a search. I don't know what the admissions process is like, but it seems to me that they should open a packet and put everything together in a file for review. Is that wrong to assume? Has anyone else had any problems like this with Yeshiva or any other school?
I'm nervous now that the time it takes to find them will hinder the chances for my application to even be reviewed in time....
I saw that someone got an interview invite from Yeshiva? Has anyone else gotten one for the Clinical PsyD program? It seems like they are giving out invites before even looking at all the applications...
Congrats to the person who got an interview from the University of Virginia! Did you apply to the Clinical program or the program in the Curry School of Education? Thanks 😀
Fordham - Concerned about the mass email invite that people (not me) received yesterday, I decided to contact the department. The secretary was really nice and said that she knows for certain that they are NOT DONE inviting people yet, so there is still hope! Don't know if anyone else applied there, but just thought you would want to know.
I was really thrilled to see this because I would LOVE to get an interview at Fordham. I don't suppose anyone has heard from them since the initial "mass email" sent out on 1/19? Their interview dates are terribly soon, and I don't want to foster false hope... But I'm hopeful until proven otherwise!![]()
So I work in hospital and when I'm in L&D or some other areas, my cell gets no reception. I'm really worried that a DCT or POI will try to call and I won't get it. Do you think it would be appropriate for me to give the grad school coordinator or whomever my pager number and ask them to page me? Its really the only thing I have on me all the time. My office phone, my cell, both are only good some of the day. Do you think this would just make me appear to be high maintenance or annoying? Or do you think that it would be more negative for them to have to leave a message with my receptionist or voicemail? Which is the most negative of the two possible scenarios: pager or phone?
God, I am a spazz!![]()
