Hey guys! Today (12/23) I received an invitation to interview for the Clinical Psych PhD program at George Mason University. I received the invite by email from the DCT. The interview is on Feb. 6th. This was the best Christmas present ever!!!

First of all, congrats! I am curious as to who your POI is, George Mason is one of my top choice schools I applied to.

Hi OlliePsych! I know from the email that I received that all of the interviews are taking place on either Feb. 6th or 7th, so hopefully you will hear from them soon! Best of luck to you! 🙂

From the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology website:

"Interviews for Sept. 2009 admission to the program will occur on March 2, 2009. If you are invited, please plan to join us for the whole day. Thank you."

This is for the PsyD program. Happy holidays, everyone!

They had indicated that interview requests would go out around the end of December. I haven't heard anything. Has anyone else?

People who applied to Georgia State University, clinical psychology PhD - did you receive correspondence from them when they received your application materials? I have yet to receive anything.

Hi OlliePsych! My POI at George Mason is John Riskind. I know from the email that I received that all of the interviews are taking place on either Feb. 6th or 7th, so hopefully you will hear from them soon! Best of luck to you! 🙂

I was so super close to applying just for him... LOVE his stuff. Master's research area was anxiety/PTSD and sort of a small unique spinoff area involving the two... but my newest research shifted and I decided to follow that on this round of applications. I'm a wee bit jealous of you right now... ha... but in a good and loving way! Congrats and best of luck!

Thanks, WannaBeDrMe!! I am pretty excited about it! Best of luck to you as well!! With master's research under your belt, I'm sure you're going to do great!!!

I have a general question for you guys.. Is it a faux pas to give the name of your POI? We don't list the POI when we report receiving an interview, and someone didn't respond when they were asked who their POI was (the one with an interview at FSU). Are there disadvantages to listing it when you receive an interview?

There is no rule that I am aware of that is against listing your POI, but people are not generally comfortable in mentioning it. Therefore, if people are interested in that kind of information, it is usually conducted through a personal message. The main thing that people care about is hearing back from the school in general, and if they want more info (as I believe hermionephd did) they will just ask. It just makes things a bit easier than listing all schools and all POIs...keeping track of this list is already a daunting task as it is! 😎

Yep, they told me through PM.

I haven't received anything but I did check my Panther ID...I know the materials were received but it is not reflected in the checklist. i think they are just behind...I've already sent two emails with no response. 😕

How did you find out?
Was it KU or Kansas State, and who'd you apply to work it?

I applied there too and now I'm nervous!!

But I have never heard of a preliminary phone interview

Don't be... I didn't get invited until late February there for an interview, and yes, got the phone interview first.

Relax

I spoke to the admissions department at MSPP on Monday. They indicated that early applicants should hear either way by the end of THIS WEEK!!!!!
I have not heard anything yet... Have you?

I received an email from MSPP telling me that my decision was available online. I logged in and the 'decision link' doesn't exist! I've looked everywhere on the page!! Ugh! I'm waiting until they open on the 5th so I can call them.

I also got that dead link. Of course, now I'm worried that those that made the first cut will have gotten phone call or e-mail invites, while the rest of us must log on to get the bad news. Am I paranoid?

If you are paranoid, then I am right there with you! GOOD LUCK!

I'll keep both of you updated when I get in contact with them on Monday morning. Good luck to both of you! 😳)

I have a feeling that invites are going to go up dramatically on the 5th, and even more so on the 12th!

Hi, I got an interview at CUNY Queens college for Clinical Neuropsychology. Email was sent today 1/5/09 and interview is for 2/6/09

Those that got an email from MSPP that the decision link didn't work, they sent out another email today saying that the problem has been resolved.

I got an invitation for an interview at MSPP. Yay! 😳) Notification sent today, interview is for 1/30.

CDub, was the invitation done through the link they sent you, or was it a separate e-mail or phone call inviting you to interview?

is the program at MSPP a clinical program?? PsyD or PhD???

Hi, saribou13! 🙂

I also applied to Loyola Chicago and DePaul. No word on either yet! I'm thinking if we search the forum for last year's information we may get an idea of when we may hear something... I mean, when we WILL hear something. 😉

Good luck to everyone! :luck:

don't get stressed yet... most invites will not come out for another month. i would recommend checking last years invite thread to investigate when these schools sent out their invites last year - it should give you an idea of their application interview schedule. it will give you some peace of mind

way to go with the positive attitude!!! 😀 hopefully we WILL hear something soon, i'll try to keep you posted. all the schools were good about updating me when my application was complete. i have a feeling that they are still really just getting down to looking at materials, what with the deadline crunch, holidays and winter break too. i know DePaul's interview days are Feb. 13 & 16. good luck!

I haven't heard anything from any of my programs yet, either, if it helps.

Me either! Has anyone heard from Rosalind Franklin or University of Illiinois-Chicago yet? Just curious 🙂

Positivity is always a good thing to have! Thanks! 😀

I also received notification that my applications were complete via email. I'll be sure to keep you posted! Apparently, it's good to have some patience too. 😛

:xf: for all of us!

CDub, was the invitation done through the link they sent you, or was it a separate e-mail or phone call inviting you to interview?

The invitation for interview was through the link. After you log into the application system, there is a link toward the bottom of the page for your decision.

I'm waiting on UIC as well. No word so far!

Yeah I haven't heard from them yet either. By looking at last year's interview invite thread, it looks like a lot of the schools waited until mid- to late-January (week of 1/25 seemed to be pretty popular) to extend invites. way to stretch it right until the last nervous moment. AAAGGGHHH!!!!! 😱

Has anyone heard from Rosalind Franklin
No I haven't either. Their interview date is march 13, so we might not hear for a while. I have an email contact for the CHP admissions officer. If you need it, just PM me.

Also as an aside, it seems many of the programs do not keep the interview date info current on their websites (or are vague about it). So if you're curious about the exact interview dates for your programs for purposes of planning, you can call or email the secretaries/admissions officers and most have that info by now. If anyone needs the dates for any of the schools in my list just let me know.

I haven't heard back from them yet either.

I received an e-mail from Georgia State University today (1/6) stating that my application was complete and was forwarded to the psychology department for review.
