I guess if you have more than 1 POI it makes the odds better.
Thanks for the info..
Thanks for the info..
Hey guys! Today (12/23) I received an invitation to interview for the Clinical Psych PhD program at George Mason University. I received the invite by email from the DCT. The interview is on Feb. 6th. This was the best Christmas present ever!!!
Hi OlliePsych! I know from the email that I received that all of the interviews are taking place on either Feb. 6th or 7th, so hopefully you will hear from them soon! Best of luck to you! 🙂First of all, congrats! I am curious as to who your POI is, George Mason is one of my top choice schools I applied to.
Hi OlliePsych! My POI at George Mason is John Riskind. I know from the email that I received that all of the interviews are taking place on either Feb. 6th or 7th, so hopefully you will hear from them soon! Best of luck to you! 🙂
I have a general question for you guys.. Is it a faux pas to give the name of your POI? We don't list the POI when we report receiving an interview, and someone didn't respond when they were asked who their POI was (the one with an interview at FSU). Are there disadvantages to listing it when you receive an interview?
There is no rule that I am aware of that is against listing your POI, but people are not generally comfortable in mentioning it. Therefore, if people are interested in that kind of information, it is usually conducted through a personal message. The main thing that people care about is hearing back from the school in general, and if they want more info (as I believe hermionephd did) they will just ask. It just makes things a bit easier than listing all schools and all POIs...keeping track of this list is already a daunting task as it is! 😎

People who applied to Georgia State University, clinical psychology PhD - did you receive correspondence from them when they received your application materials? I have yet to receive anything.
How did you find out?
Was it KU or Kansas State, and who'd you apply to work it?
I applied there too and now I'm nervous!!
But I have never heard of a preliminary phone interview
Arizona State University
PhD Clinical
Contacted 12/31/08 via email by department secretary
Interview on either 2/13/09 or 2/16/09
Yeah, but I'm not so sure the phone interview with KU went so well. You've heard from two places now, right? I am so jealous! Congrats!

I haven't received anything but I did check my Panther ID...I know the materials were received but it is not reflected in the checklist. i think they are just behind...I've already sent two emails with no response. 😕
They had indicated that interview requests would go out around the end of December. I haven't heard anything. Has anyone else?
I haven't heard back from them yet either.People who applied to Georgia State University, clinical psychology PhD - did you receive correspondence from them when they received your application materials? I have yet to receive anything.

I spoke to the admissions department at MSPP on Monday. They indicated that early applicants should hear either way by the end of THIS WEEK!!!!!
I have not heard anything yet... Have you?
I received an email from MSPP telling me that my decision was available online. I logged in and the 'decision link' doesn't exist! I've looked everywhere on the page!! Ugh! I'm waiting until they open on the 5th so I can call them.
I also got that dead link. Of course, now I'm worried that those that made the first cut will have gotten phone call or e-mail invites, while the rest of us must log on to get the bad news. Am I paranoid?
hi all,
has anyone applied to/heard from any of the following schools?:
Northwestern University (Feinberg School of Medicine)
Loyola University Chicago
University of IL - Chicago
DePaul University
Boston University
UMass Boston
Columbia University (Teacher's College)
Fordham University
thanks!
Hi, saribou13! 🙂
I also applied to Loyola Chicago and DePaul. No word on either yet! I'm thinking if we search the forum for last year's information we may get an idea of when we may hear something... I mean, when we WILL hear something. 😉
Good luck to everyone!![]()
way to go with the positive attitude!!! 😀 hopefully we WILL hear something soon, i'll try to keep you posted. all the schools were good about updating me when my application was complete. i have a feeling that they are still really just getting down to looking at materials, what with the deadline crunch, holidays and winter break too. i know DePaul's interview days are Feb. 13 & 16. good luck!
Here's last year's thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=477163
Of course, I'm reading it and it's making me feel a little sick to my stomach. 😉
CDub, was the invitation done through the link they sent you, or was it a separate e-mail or phone call inviting you to interview?
is the program at MSPP a clinical program?? PsyD or PhD???
Me either! Has anyone heard from Rosalind Franklin or University of Illiinois-Chicago yet? Just curious 🙂
I'm waiting on UIC as well. No word so far!
No I haven't either. Their interview date is march 13, so we might not hear for a while. I have an email contact for the CHP admissions officer. If you need it, just PM me.Has anyone heard from Rosalind Franklin
I haven't heard back from them yet either.
