Hi everyone,

I don't know if anyone else is anxiously waiting to hear back from BU, but I just called to confirm that my file is complete and was able to get a little information about interview invites from the Clinical Program Coordinator. She informed me that NO invites have been extended to applicants yet. *Sigh of relief*😀

I just got an email from the DCT at University of Kansas (child clinical program) inviting me for an interview Feb 23. Wonderful and unexpected good news!!!

yes. Just got off the phone with them and THEY HAVEN'T EVEN LOOKED AT THE FILES!!!!! She said the interview will be around 2/20 (likely, not confirmed) and that invites will go out at least 2 weeks before the interview. And the wait continues.....

you should see our posts from a few days back on BU... the gist of it basically that all invites will be extended by end of January, and the people there are really obnoxious/unhelpful! good times.

Hey guys,

I have been reading for a while - It's been a relief knowing that some of the schools have not yet sent out invites to other people. I just wanted to let you know that I got an interview to Bowling Green State University. I'm not sure if they were sending out all the interview invites today, but it was not personal at all - so it was probably a mass e-mail. Good luck!

p.s. has anyone heard from Ohio State University?

Also, in response to some of the earlier questions about calling the schools - since reading this blog, i've called most of the schools i've found it helpful!

I logged into my "VIP page" on their website... there used to be a section that said which materials they had received from me, but now that section's gone. I wonder what it means??? (if anything!) 😱

I'm in class and updating from my phone...I just got an email from Temple inviting me to an interview on Feb. 2 or Feb. 6th. My first and probably only interview invite!!

Interview dates are 2/2 and 2/6. They apologized for the short notice.

Also: I should have specified, but I'm hoping to hear from Fordham Clinical, not Counseling. Any leads on them?

Actually, scratch that. I just called Fordham myself. The guy I talked to was perfectly nice, and he said that invitations are still going out. He said it's possible I'll hear from them by tomorrow, and if not I/you guys should email Dr. Rosenfeld to inquire.

I was also told, by a woman secretary the other day, that I could email Dr. Rosenfeld directly. I was kind of surprised... On the one hand, I don't want to bother him at a time when I'm sure he's being bombarded, but on the other hand, do you think it expresses greater interest in the program?? I'm torn!!

They needed a transcript sent and I sent it right away, even rushed it overnight (I didn't think that they needed this transcript because no other program did--it was two college-level classes I took back in high school). Well, grad admissions has it and they're going to send it over to the dept within a day or so. Invites are supposed to go out tomorrow, so looks like I'm hosed.

I had a similiar thing happen to me- a school told me they needed a transcript but it really didn't have any information on it and no other school needed it. I called the dept and explained the situation and they ended up saying I didnt needed...

anyway... maybe you could call!

I mean, I emailed my POI's and got responses, but I feel like a lot of people had on going conversations and now I feel like maybe I didn't do enough.... Do you think this could drastically hurt my chances?

bbonniee: Not really. I mean, of course it helps to know the person, but a lot of people are in the same situation. My POIs range from I've met them in person to I've never even emailed them.

I never contacted any of my POIs and I have one interview so far (other three schools haven't sent them out yet). I realize now this was a mistake and should I not get in this time I will definately be doing that next time around. I think the fact that you even talked to them is good but I also don't think it is a major deal. Thats just my opinion though.

After requesting info a few weeks ago about interview day from U Missouri St. Louis, I received a reply from the DCT saying that invites will go out at the end of january and interview days are Feb 20 and 27.

I haven't received an invite yet from them.

I was really thrilled to see this because I would LOVE to get an interview at Fordham. I don't suppose anyone has heard from them since the initial "mass email" sent out on 1/19? Their interview dates are terribly soon, and I don't want to foster false hope... But I'm hopeful until proven otherwise!

I heard from them after the mass email (later that day), if it helps you any. Hope it works out for you!

UPDATE:

Darn. The lady I got at Loyola MD was like a bank vault guarding her information. She DID, however, say that not ALL of the invites were out, and that they'd be sending them during the next two weeks. So if no one on here has gotten anything from Loyola MD, I'm going to assume I'm safe for now.

i know i really like the program too. i also work at FSM right now... but unfortunately i don't have any connections to the psychology dept. but i still think they should take me anyway 😀

I'm also waiting on SDSU/UCSD Clinical. I got an email from them in December telling me that my file was complete and that the interview committee meets the first week of January. Interviews are Feb 23-24. I'm getting anxious about this one too!

There is always that "but that doesn't mean all invites have been sent out" at the end...do you think the graduate schools are just trying not to disappoint people until after the actual interviews?
