Dear Mrliquorice2005,

The committee met this past Wednesday. I regret to let you know that you were not selected for an interview. We had a very large number of applications. Yours was among several that received consideration, but in the end were only able to invite about 15% of the applicants. I'm sorry to give you disappointing news. I thank you for your interest in our program and I wish you the very best in your endeavors.

Sincerely,

POI

does anyone else has this listed under their admission status in their sdsu web portal:

DEPARTMENT REVIEWING FILE FOR PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

Yep. That is what mine says too.

Mrliquorice when did you get your letter and by what means? Was it snail mail or email or posted on the status update?

this is what it says in my page as well. student standing is still blank... hm?

I got a little antsy and decided to e-mail my POI. That was her response. 🙁

Just wondering if anyone has heard from either of these schools regarding interviews. I know Pacific has preferred dates. Let me know if you've heard back, thanks!

I'd like to reiterate...URI? Geez they're taking a long time.

Do you know if GW did all of their invites or whether they will have more?

Do you know if all of GW's invites are out or whether they're still doing more?

I just got my phone call on Friday for an interview for the PsyD program. They only had one interview date option (3/7 - my birthday!), rather than the three listed earlier in the week, so I'm guessing that they're towards the end. But don't give up hope just yet - good luck!

As far as I know, although lots of people have gotten invites to the PsyD program at GWU, invites for the Clinical Ph.D. haven't gone out yet, and they will start this coming week. (someone on SDN said they called and that is what they were told by the program secretary).

Email from POI at U. Washington on 1/28 to set up a phone interview.

Email from POI at CU-Boulder on 1/30 to invite me to their interview weekend on 2/27 (behavioral genetics) and 2/28 (clinical).

Can you email me your POI's name from UWA? Is this clinical?

I just got an email (2/1 - a Sunday! Unexpected!) to Yeshiva's Clinical PsyD program. The interview is for 2/5. Woo hoo! =)

So I finally just heard from my #1 choice which I was all excited about until I realized that their interview day is the same as one I already told another school I would attend. The #1 choice (and the other school) only has 1 interview day and the email didn't mention anything about rescheduling if necessary.

Do I try to reschedule with the school I already told I was going to? Will this automatically disqualify me? Alternately, how important is it that I attend the one interview day for my top choice? I don't want to miss the chance to meet students, attend the social, etc...

I would go to my 1st choice and try my best to reschedule/interview over the phone with the other school. Just be careful with what you say to them as you don't want to seem like their program is less important. Good Luck!

I know that several people have been invited to individual interviews at CUNY Grad Center but does anyone know if they are done? Last years thread seemed to imply that their invite process can go on for some time. It also implied however, that they don't invite that many people in general, so how long could it take? Anyway, if anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated, as I'd like to put that dream to rest🙄. Or perhaps a senior member wouldn't mind posting all the Cuny grad center posts from last year so that I could figure it out. You know, just incase I missed some. Thanks.

Hi Lovely Rita,

Congrats on your invite. Just wanted to direct you to last years acceptance thread. At one point on of the senior members of this website posted all of the Yeshiva posts for a certain member. They were largely about Yeshiva's unorthodox acceptance process and they were a little disturbing. I don't think you should be concerned but it might be informative for you in deciding what kinds of questions you would like to ask at the interview. Congratulations again and good luck... it seems like an awesome program.

I've been keeping up with this forum for a while, but this is the first time I've had a question significant enough to post.

I received an e-mail from my POI at Texas Tech on 1/30 telling me that I'm an alternate to admission and that I would be receiving a call in 2-3 weeks to let me know what my chances are for admission are at that time. The e-mail seemed upbeat about the quality of my application, but the closing sounded like my chances were pretty slim.

Has anyone else received a similar e-mail? I'm just curious as to how good my chances actually are and how hopeful I should be about getting an invite to whatever second round interviews they might have. I would think that since my POI took time out of his day to send me a personal e-mail that I'm not quite chopped liver yet, but I don't want to get my hopes up over something that's really unlikely. Since this is the closest I have to an interview invite right now, though, it's hard to not get my hopes up a little!

Any prior experience with this kind of situation or general advice would be much appreciated!

I hear what you're saying. I am waiting on a couple that are taking their sweet time.

URI
Syracuse
University of New Mexico
Auburn

If anyone has any information on these I am waiting on pins and needles!

I saw a post from someone on Jan. 28th about an interview invite from IIT and am wondering if anyone else has received one yet. I'm a little surprised to hear that they're sending them out already, as my application confirmation email stated that invited applicants would receive info in late February...

I got a PM from another member who had received an email as well, but that doesn't mean those are the only emails going out. Calling the department's a good way to find out.

Anybody know anything about the following schools?!

CU Boulder
Fernberg
Univ of Houston
Rochester

BU is done with invites, don't know about the rest

Univeristy of Houston should be sending out invites this week. Interivew late Feb. or early March.

Fairleigh Dickinson U has also not started handing out invites although their interview day is less than 2 weeks away!

Good Morning All!

I just called Fairleigh Dickinson to confirm that my application was received and complete- the woman I spoke with (Ms. Morningway) said that interviews will be 2/14 and 2/15 (I'm not sure whether it was both or either) barring any snow storms, and that e-mails will be sent out prior.

That's coming up, so I'd imagine e-mails should be going out soon!

Good Luck to everyone who applied there!

The interviews there are 2 days long. I also confirmed that there are some alternate dates (depending on faculty schedules) due to the late notice.

The students that I know that currently go there just told me they have not even looked at the apps yet! yikes!

Has anyone heard from these programs (all clinical):

Alabama: Psych and Law concentration
Baylor PsyD
Louisville (post interview)

Also, sorry if this is late news, but I called Tennessee yesterday and they said they had completed sending out interview invites. Good luck to all!

Minnesota and Harvard were only updated about phone interviews. Anyone received actual invites?

Also UT-Austin?

I received an email on Friday for an interview.

Has anyone heard any info about U of North Dakota or U of Montana yet?

This was for Curry at UVA, yes? I know people have gotten non-Curry clinical PhD phone interviews for UVA, but I haven't seen anything about in-person. Have I missed it or is this right?

Yes this was for the Curry School of Education at UVA, they're Clinical PhD program. I too haven't seen anything for the UVA Psych Dept. in-person interview invites.

Got an email interview invite 2/2 for an interview 2/13 for the Clinical PsyD program at Long Island University/C.W. Post. =)

I saw that as well... and I was under the impression they were sending out interviews this week. I haven't heard anything from them one way or another. I did email the dept. secretary last Thursday to see when they were sending out invites/ if they'd all already gone out, but I haven't heard back from them at all.

Just got an e-mail for an invitation to Auburns clinical phd program. It was a mass e-mail, so I don't think the POI thing will have an effect. The interview is on the weekend of Feb 28th.

Mass email from Auburn Clinical PhD for interview on Feb 28th. Got it in my email around 11 this morning.

Just when I was losing hope =)

so i have heard that BU was done inviting people.

we thought Fordham was done, and then later in the week, someone was saying that they weren't done... has anyone heard anything from them lately?

i haven't heard anything back from emails i sent out to UMB and UIC, which is both inconclusive and non-encouraging! anyone heard anything from them?

Hello guys! I am applying to Counseling Psychology programs, so please excuse me for being in Clinical Psyc thread.
I have received an invite with an option of 4 days to have my interview. They are all Thursdays and Fridays: February 12, 13 (Th, Fr), 19, and 20 (Th, Fr).

Do you know which day would be the most beneficial for an applicant? Would the day of my interview influence my chances to be admitted?

I would really appreciate if you can answer my questions!
