Any ideas on the ratio of people interviewed/spots for typical pulm fellowship programs? For my residency program the ratio was about 7/1, and the director of the GI fellowship at my hospital said that their numbers are similar to that (she was on Gen Med wards with me... didn't feel comfortable asking Pulm/CC program director out of the blue). Any ideas on the typical number of people per interview date? Seems like there is a big spread of number of interview dates offered (I've seen as low as 3 and as many as 9) which doesn't seem to correlate with reputation of program (better programs seem to have more than less great ones).
