Anyone knows if there’s an excel list of the interviews this year?

@DoctorBob do you recommend sending an interest email to programs who may send second waves?

Meh. They don't help.

Personally I get a few of these per day for the entirety of the application season.
I know people are interested... that's why they applied in the first place.

A "hey can you take another look and reconsider this person for an interview" email really only works if it comes from someone who is known to the program. I got a text the other day from one of the PRN docs in our group who works at a remote campus... it's a tenuous link but still it's someone I know. Anyways, he says a friend of his is applying and would I look at his application again and consider him for an interview. This applicant's friendship with my colleague won't affect the rank list, but sure, I'll give him an interview. And I'm doing so based on the request from my colleague.

Those kinds of emails/texts are helpful. So how can you leverage that? Well, you talk with the CCM people you work with at your institution and see if they know any of the people who are faculty at the program you're interested in. Critical care medicine is still a relatively small world. If anyone you work with knows anyone at the program you want to go to, have them send an email on your behalf. Then that person at the program can talk with the PD and say "hey, this person I know is recommending this applicant; maybe consider them for an interview?"

On the one hand I want to correct the data for my program... on the other hand I don't want to interfere with the independent nature of your database as it's really important that people have a place to express their opinion of programs, both good and bad.

But my program was shown as having sent rejections and shown as already filled; both of which are incorrect. And there was a comment about something which I clarified (the comment wasn't wrong by the way...)

@Doctor Bob, long-time lurker, My apologies if this has been addressed before, but what are your thoughts on sending a letter of intent to our #1 program once we submit our rank lists? Thanks!

Hey all, applying next cycle, plan is to head back home to NYC after a brief foray for residency.

Curious how the programs there "rank" in terms of clinical training, specifically for the CCM side of things.

Thanks!

Has anyone interviewed for CCM at Mayo Clinic Rochester? I'm a bit confused. While it has a big name, I’ve heard concerns about the training experience. Some say there are too many mid-level trainees, leading to fewer procedures for fellows. Additionally, there seems to be less autonomy, with electives that aren’t very useful. They also offer only a two-year program, rather than a one year option for someone with subspecialty fellowship. Living cost is expensive and city doesn't offer much. Has anyone else come across similar feedback?

(sorry, haven't checked up on here in a while)...

Those are pretty meaningless. From the program side I have no idea if you're telling the truth or not, or sending the same letter to a bunch of different places. A LOI holds no weight because it's in no way binding. The only time I'll fully believe someone when they say they're ranking me #1 is after the rank submission deadline.

I know one candidate who sent screenshot of the rank order list to the program and he eventually did that to 4 different programs ranking them number one and editing the list every other time. There are all kinds of people out there.
