@Bigguy1096 This combination looks like a case of grade inflation (where it was easy for people to get A's at your university). Have you already applied this cycle?

Well I’m usually one of few who get A’s in most of my classes and I have also received letters saying that I’m in the top 10 percent of my class. I didn’t know tufts was a grade inflation school.

The DAT is an equalizer. All schools have different grading criteria, but having the DAT that tests these applicants on the same material helps to level out the playing field. I'm not arguing against you, I'm just telling you what it may look like to dental schools - high GPA + average DAT --> you did well in your courses (hence the high GPA) but this wasn't carried over onto your DAT performance --> may be a case of grade inflation.
Going back to your original question, if you just took the DAT, it would be too late this cycle to retake (you have to wait 90 days). If you haven't applied, I'd either apply asap (it's getting late) or hold off until next cycle. If you are planning on applying next cycle, you could retake before June and apply early if you wanted, or you could apply with your current score - people have gotten in with 19AA/19TS, as long as you apply early. Has anyone received an interview invite from University of Utah?

Also, I have not heard from them since they sent me an email stating they'd received my application and fee (end of June). Do they have a secondary?

The status for them on AADSAS is "verified".

Should I contact them or just continue waiting? Thanks for any help!

That’s the only email they have sent me as well. Their secondary was part of AASDAS as well, so if you’ve paid the fee then there is nothing left to do. I haven’t seen or heard of anyone receiving an interview invite yet.

I have a new column that says application status with “invited for interview” or “received/under review”

It can say things like "Received/Under Review", "Application Complete", "Awaiting Additional Information" (such as a secondary app or fee), "Invited for Interview", something for offer (can't remember), then either "Offer Accepted" or "Offer Declined". Those are pretty much all the statuses 😕? I saw last year.
 
I have received and interview invite from Midwestern and on the AADSAS portal it still says "Application Under Review". How faithful do some schools actually update the status, or does it automatically update when the schools selects the decision? Just curious.

Usually when schools have their own portal (such as Western, ASDOH, MWU AZ, LLU, etc), they tend to update that portal more frequently than they do the AADSAS portal. It's up to the school on when and how frequently they update AADSAS, which is sometimes not at all lol. Just focus on making sure you have emails of everything, and good luck on your interview!
 
Two schools that have given me interviews say "under review" on the AASDSAS portal.
 
Does anyone applied to SUNY or NYU see other than "none" for the status next to verified?
I paid secondary and everything in July and it seems concerning to see "none" not completed......; (
 
Rejection from ATSU-ASDOH this morning, I figure I just didn’t have near enough volunteer hours.
 
If we get rejected from a school without an interview, will it say received/under review, or no? Or how will you know you got rejected? Do they all email you?

For NYU, it says none. But for my sbu and buffalo, it says received/under review.

Some of mine still say "none" too and I know they are reviewing my application (via an email notice).
I think some schools use their own portals and don't always update over on AADSAS.
 
I got the rejection from ASDOH too. I know that all schools have an agreement not to make any decision until Dec 1st, so it's weird to see AZ don't follow rules. They do not update their portal, thus "none" will stay for a while. In reality, Dec 1st with rejection letter your portal will say "Rejected" and not "none". Hope this clears out some confusion.

The agreement is only for accepting/waitlisting people after interview. Rejections can come any time from the day of submission til the end of the cycle.
 
I wanted to share with you guys that after hearing online webinar for the University of Minnesota, I learned that acceptance/rejection letters will be sent out on Dec 1st (Sat) and not Dec 3rd (Mon) as previously was mentioned. Maybe be other schools will send on Dec 3rd, but based on this school I believe others will send on Dec 1st, so on the night between Friday-Saturday. Note that those letters are not sent by admission committee, but rather by staff who works there, that is why it's possible for the letters to be sent on the weekend. But we will wait and see how other schools will do!

Thank you for sharing. I could not attend the webinar due to work. Is there anything else that you could share with us who missed it? I really wanted to attend as I am interviewing there...; (

I just spoke with staff there, and she said "don't worry about the 'none' status" I guess they don't really update the AADSAS too often or at all lol
She said they have my application and is sending me an email confirmation.

Just to let other people know who also shows "none" for stonybrook. 🙂

I didn't learn much from it, but the important part is to know that Dr. Lopez will give interview tips in the morning before the interviews start. Also, ANSWER interviewers questions, and not your rehearsed response. Apparently, this was a common mistake in this school not to answer their question.

I think I submitted my application on 6/15, but it was not complete until my committee letter was uploaded on 6/29.

Don't get discouraged! There's lots of time left and I'm sure you'll get some invites. Everyone has told me to expect rejections as each school is looking for different things within the application.

Do you mind posting when your application went into the review stage with A.T. Still? Thanks!

I see. I submitted on 7/2 so maybe that is why.
I just got a confirmation email that my application is under review , so the wait continues!

Thanks for the kind words!! And I recieved an email that my file was ready for review on July 10th!

LECOM has their own portal and I do not see any requirements or info needed
Pitt has only sent me one email before my DAT score was sent (8/9) informing me that my application was incomplete
I have paid the supplemental fee for both schools. Now I'm concerned if I'm really missing anything!

I would email them and ask them what they still need.

One of my schools stated the same thing when I went on AADSAS this morning. I was surprised to see it because I thought I'd submitted everything (there was no secondary required for them). I emailed them and they responded with telling me I needed to email them a picture of myself. So I did and just now received a response thanking me for the picture and telling me my application was now starting the review process.

Sometimes it may take a few days for things to go from AADSAS to their portal (for LECOM at least), but you can always email and ask what the status is about. Never hurts to check in on your app especially for things like this! Good luck!

which school is that? if don't mind sharing. I hope it's not NYU. my NYU status says "none"

It was University of Utah.

Several of my schools also have "none" for my status and I know my application is in review with them (they've informed me of this via email). I've read that some schools use their own portal and don't update the status over on AADSAS, so that's why some still show the status of "none".

But it still makes me nervous!! I wish they were all uniform in what they do with the status updates.

Schools don't always religiously update your status on AADSAS. The emails they send you are a better indicator.

I'm very surprised no one posted their Upenn Interviews yet. I think they sent them out like a few days ago, at least thats what it seemed like from the Upenn interview 2023 page.
