Anyone know if U of Louisville, Rutgers and Howard are competitive? Reading this thread Howard seems like it is which surprised me considering their medical school, but I don't know about the others.

Not sure about the other 2 but Howard is a very popular and historic HBCU so naturally, it's competitive to get into anything with their name on it. Hoped that helped somewhat.

@cvalrie78 Hey! I'm a newcomer to this thread! But if you're considering Duke for Medical School, I would do their program. Some friends of mine did this last summer and all participants were guaranteed an interview for medical school upon applying (so I'm pretty sure they are going to continue with that).
really? I never heard of a guarantee interview being given just for attending a program. lol are they just gonna overlook MCAT shores and GPA? However, if that's true I'm def going to pick Duke.

I keep checking my application page guys... The wait is driving me crazy I can't even focus on studying for my chem final on Thursday 🙁 Btw, some sites released their decisions a few days early last year but is it still the case for anyone this year?

You've got this! but just to clarify the results come out at 12am tomorrow so you won't even need to wait that long 🙂

Nope. Not here.

Hey eveyone,

First off, best of luck to everyone tomorrow! All we have to do is relax and realize that we put in our best efforts and that regardless, summer time will be great no matter what we are doing.

I am pretty anxious about tomorrow night. I applied to Columbia, UCLA, and UT. Now all we do is wait

I was asking this exact question earlier. The only thing I know is that, based on the wording on the SHPEP website, each site accepts roughly 80 people total so it cannot be 80 medical/80 dental. The breakdown of that 80 is what I am unsure of.

On a side note, is anyone applying to the other programs offered (public health, veterinary, nursing, etc.)?

I applied to PA and Public Health!

Lol everyone and their mama applied to UF. You can count me in that as well! I applied to UW, UF, and UAB.
I'm dead your comment killed me XD. Current UF student and I can attest that their medical school is awesome. The people and admissions are so encouraging...went to a mini med school day they had and EVERYONE I talked to couldn't stop saying how blown away they were by the camaraderie, support of the school, and motivation everyone has here. <3

Yes! I heard good things about them as well. I also heard this site great academically and socially. However, I've talked to some people and they are getting the vibe that going Gainesville is going to be like chilling in Miami or something. So should you tell them or should I? lol.

I kind of wish I was in school so I would at least be distracted by class lol. I applied to UW, LSU, and Nebraska. UW is my dream med school and I really love that rainy Seattle vibe so I would be so pumped if I got in. Also don't they pay round trip airfare.

I have to travel no matter which one chooses me (if any) since I’m all the way out in Puerto Rico.. worth it though. Plus the majority pay your fare 🙂

Yeah I'm pretty sure they pay roundtrip airfare

I applied to Columbia, UCLA, and UF for dental. I go back and forth in my mind what makes me a good candidate and what may work against me. In the end it just leaves me with an extreme amount of anticipation.

For those who didn't read my earlier post: I am a freshman in college in upstate NY, maybe that will increase my chances with Columbia 😉(which I calculated to have around a 6% acceptance rate for those wondering, but I have no idea how accurate that is since it is based on data from past years). As always, good luck to everyone. I am sure we will make the most of whatever happens!

See my friend who attended the program last year told me that most people were applying to Rutgers. Its also on my list of the top 3 med schools I'd like to apply and hopefully get accepted to.

Good luck to you too! I applaud you for taking all of those at the same time.

I need 30 credits a year (15 per semester) in order to be eligible for the Excelsior Scholarship, for which NY state covers the entirety of tuition. I still have to pay for textbooks, fees, and gas etc.

Oh and thanks, I hear Organic is fairly difficult, how is it treating you?
