Is there a list of programs that require INDBE prior to applying?
Last year I applied to 20 and I think that was a bit excessive, I think 15 is more enough.

Hey everyone, I am just finishing up second year and I am planning to apply to perio next year. I am just curious about the competitiveness of perio and what can help set me apart. I am currently ranked 30/84 with a 3.8 GPA and I’m an American applicant. I am wondering if my grades and rank will keep me from matching. I do research and have great connections in the field that I shadow and can help with recommendation letters. What else, in your experience, has helped with your application other than grades because I’m worried that despite my good GPA, the rank will hurt me. Thanks!

I mean I got into perio ranked 26/96 lol I don't think that's that big of a deal, research should help you imo

Congrats! That’s exciting for sure! Did you pick a match or non match program? I am a bit confused on how candidates in perio would pass on an offer from a rolling admission school and wait for a match program. Did you have to deal with that at all?
Yea I messed up haha I applied to both match and non match and the first non match school that accepted me I just went since I was scared about the match

No messed up as in I should have either chosen match or non match to apply to I didn't pay attention to that and just applied to too many schools. I guess if you care about location you can't really do that but I didn't care so I should have just probably applied to all non match schools and not bother with match programs.
Saw this on a previous years threads and though it would be a good way to keep track of interviews as they start to come through!
