In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

If it is due to come out the 7th, shouldnt they have an update soon? Any idea when they updated in August or last year?

bubabuguster, don't get so down about yourself before you see your mcat score. i've gone back and forth about the md/phd mostly because i think the MCAT is (going to be) the lowest point of my application. but after talking to some current md/phd students, i know that although most md/phd applicants have very high scores, some of that is coincidence. so unless the results in the next few weeks are worse than when i took the test last august, i'm going for it.

if you have awesome research experience (which it sounds like you do), a good GPA (again, sounds like you do), and awesome letters of recommendation, don't count yourself out for the md/phd.

anywho, best of :luck: to you whatever you do end up deciding.

Hi Scentimint! Thank you for your words of encouragement. I wish you the best of luck in your pursuits! :luck:

hey cal_girl and Scentimint, hang in there! I'm applying MD/PHD as well and the MCAT is also frightening me. Those averages for current MD/PHD students are frighteningly high. I'm keep my fingers crossed that things turn up Ok on june 7/22. :luck: :luck:

From what I hear, the only update will come the morning or afternoon before the night of the release. Basically, check SDN for some pre-score threads🙂

I was just talking to someone I work with and he said that one of his friends called the AAMC recently and was told that they'd be out on June 15th.

If that is true, then that sounds about near what I predicted and near the time they've been let out in the past two years. In 2004 it was June 13th and in 2005 it was June 15th at 8pm. So that would be near what I predicted.

Somehow, I don't think June 7th but if that happens to be the date then that's good for you all.

I wouldn't mind the 15th. That's just over two weeks from now. Gives me time to get the rest of the app finished to my liking and it doesn't seem that far away.

I think other years the test was taken earlier in April though, so I think for us the 15th would actually be fewer days than previous years but not sure... I'm just hoping for as early as possible!

I would definitely prefer 6/7 to 6/15!! I need to be put out of my waiting misery ASAP. 😉

I'm not counting on anything earlier than 6/21, though. *sigh*

At least we one have one more day of May left....Once we get into June we can really start sweating🙂

that could have a tie in with MCAT score release. Perhaps scores will be released then too...

That sounds about right based on prior experience.

If the submission of the AMCAS begins then, I'd highly doubt the June 7th score release then. It's usually been about 10 days or so before the MCAT scores come out.

ITS THE LAST DAY OF MAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

🙂 🙁 😳 😀 😛 😎 🙄 😡 😱 😕

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I haven't been able to find a concise answer via searching.

Regarding the MCAT score release date,

June 7th: This was released by TPR. How did they get this date? Are there any TPR teachers or employees who know where this came from?

Historically: How much notice has been given prior to posting of the scores online? What time of day have they been released?

Thank you in advance.

All we have is time...It's getting closer and I'm really getting tired of people asking me, "How did you do on the MCAT? Wow, it takes that long to get scores back, man that's gotta suck!!" Yes it does!!! Just a couple more weeks I guess. 😡

Judging by the # of posts in this thread, when the scores finally come out, this place is going to be wild... oh yeah, hurray for june!!!

According to TPR they got the info from AAMC. But don't put to much hope into it since the AAMC usually releases it around 55ish days after the exam.

As for the notice, it has been rumored that there will be no notice, so just keeping ThX or SDN to see if any updates pop.

Good luck :luck:

2000 would be wild....

I bet the test sections are scored using a method like PLINKO on the Price is Right. Instead of prize money amounts in the slots, they are replaced with numbers 1-15. That damn 15 is on the middle slot that ordinarily wins you $5000. God forbid your PLINKO chip lands in the $0 slot...

No wonder it takes them 8 weeks to score these biitches.

I had a dream I got a 24. A 24! Does anyone know of any bars with wireless internet somewhere in the midwest? I think I'd like to hang out there the day of score release....

I am not sure about bars, but burger king has wireless now...so if you want to spike your cherry coke... 🙄

I had a weird dream last night that I got N for my writing and 11 for PS. They haven't finished scoring my VS and BS.
I's pissed for that 11. I wanna get at least 12. 🙁

11 will be good if my VS is 2 digit as well, but mine will never be... that's why i need more in science. 🙁

I personally would be happy with anything above an 8! 🙂 Triple 7's, triple 8's whatever! Just to know that there is improvement and if I have to take it again then so be it! I just want to know one way or the other. Anyone else feel the same?

I always say that I'm ready to retake the exam, but after a short visit to the MCAT Q&A forum, I realllllllllllllly don't want to take it again!

Yeah, an 11 would be kind of marginal for me, because my undergrad GPA is a 3.1... I need to kick the **** out of the MCAT to live that down.

Here's to the last day of May! 😀

I've had some weird dreams too...I had rocked the MCAT, but I had not yet taken the BS section...what's up with that? 😱

ChessMess - I dig the "When Harry Met Sally" reference!

6 days and a wake up?????

this is like both my pregnancies. I knew I'd go 2 weeks past my due date (family trait) but I kept convincing myself I saw signs of imprending labor 2 weeks prior. I have myself convinced MCAT scores will come out in a week, but realisticly, it will be somewhere in the 15-22 range. Everyone calls you asking if you're in labor yet. now, everyone keeps asking me if I have my scores yet. Luckily we don't have to wait 9 months for the MCAT scores. And no stressful genetic testing.... And no pain (of the uterine kind anyway :meanie: )

When is the result due to be out?

If it happens as you say... it would be great. But in reality, my verbal sucks. I would be so happy to get an 8 or 9 on verbal that i would jump from the golden gate bridge. 😀

Haven't they put up jumper detterents yet? Or do they still just have the suicide prevention phones. Those always cracked me up.

What the heck is a suicide prevention phone? Do they place them extra high up on the bridge? Or are they on regular walkways?

The Brooklyn Bridge has walkways down the middle. Does the golden gate have them on the side? That's SOOOO much more convenient for jumping, isn't it. 😉

yes, oxeye, your kids are really cute.

i keep thinking i've got the anticipation under control, but everyone at work keeps asking me (can't keep anything a secret there)! i swear i'm going to do awfully, and i'll have to tell them! double trouble...
Seminole fan, i feel like your cat.

Yeah, the walkways are on the side and lots of people jump. From what I remember, putting up barriers was voted down because people (understandably) didn't want to change the appearance of the bridge. They put lots of phones by the walkways instead so people could call some hotline if they were feeling suicidal. 😉

This was all back in the early 90's though - things are probably changed by now.
