In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

There was a notice before the August score release...not a week before, but the day of (10/14/05). The message said: "Thank you for your patience. The scores will be loaded tonight"

and then you could access the examinee data for our exam during the day before scores were posted.

then, they changed the message to: "Thank you for your patience. The scores will be loaded tonight, but probably close to midnight Eastern time (certainly not before 10:30pm)"
and then they actually did come out at around 10 PM.
Thanks for your answer! It really clarifies a lot!

Actually I disagree with you.

I'd have to say that we premeds are not exactly standup comedian material.

Depends. I've seen some pretty funny posts back in the day. Like last year when Sail Crazy would post. Then there was that guy who's at UCLA I think. He's the one with the needle with a smily face in his avatar. I can never remember his name but he's really funny. I think most are neurotic but some are funny. But in this case, I'm just laughing at people's neuroticism and sarcasm.

i think AAMC is just telling us bull****. i called them today and corey said the scores will be out the week of June 19th. so which of thier representatives should we trust ?

I think i am just going to sit back , relax, eat some good indian food, and wait for the scores to come in the mail. This online score checking business is stressing me out and is definitely not good for my blood pressure. (well, neither is the Indian food, but oh well). Anyone have any idea as to when the scores will come by mail?

I'm not sure how it worked out for people on EST, but several people on PST have told me they got their scores around 9:30 PM on the 13th. I assume that's technically Friday, the 14th EST?

My understanding is that April 2005 MCAT scores were released 6-16. Take a look at last years threads.

Glad to hear something different, I would die waiting another 2 weeks.

MCAAAAAAAAAAAAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok you guys, here's the deal. Last year, I sent an email about this and got something back and the date they gave me was the 21st for score release. That date that they wrote was in regards strictly to when it should come in the mail. It came online on the 15th at 10pm.

So the scores will be up online on the 12th or the 13th and will be in your mailbox in paper form on the 22nd to 23rd. That is generally the way things work and have done so for the past 2 years.

In June 2004, the score release date online was the 13th or 14th, and last year it was 15th at 10pm. That's online.

In the mail, it takes an extra week to come.

Not only have I lost the poll (I was listed for today), but now I have to wait another week to see scores. Shucks. Oh well, one more week of ignorant bliss 🙄

It seems to me like everybody is being told something different depending on who they call and what mood they are in. They just cant be trusted. But I do believe that the consenus seems to be the 12th or 13th. I hope it is not delayed any longer because I am on the verge of insanity!

This is my first post and I must say I have greatly enjoyed reading everyone's comments. Ya'll crack me up! And I'm very happy there are so many other's going through this hell with me!

Whoever left the comment about playing texas hold 'em was right---is does help take your mind off of it... but that makes me crazy too! And broke!

Does anyone else feel totally behind in their applications? Why is it so freakin' hard to right the PS???? I just have trouble trying to make myself sound good...I don't like to brag...

I wonder if the MCAT people laugh at how many times we check the ThX system just to see if they are lying about when the scores are going to be released. I know I check a few times a day...I guess they aren't trying to pull a fast one on us

Um, actually I'm gonna have to re-disagree with you, cuz I'm a standup comic, and I'm like totally funny. You should hear my euthanasia routine-it kills!

Stuff like
Results will be up shortly. The changes will accelerate as the time approaches. Some sick bastard at aamc must get a strange satisfaction through those messages.

I think someone said this already, but if you call the office in Iowa they tell you that the scores will be available online on the 12th or 13th. If you call the office in DC, they tell you that it will be 60 days after test date.

I had to call and hear for myself. LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!

Doubt they are laughing... probobly thinking more along the lines of " these stupid premeds are wasting our resources by siphoning our bandwith....... we told em 60 days!"....

I always thought it would be funny to know the inside scoop about those people.

We will know about released day when they will show similar note on AAMC
Please Note: Submission of the 2007 AMCAS application will not begin until June 5, 2006
Until that time we can guess!!! May it will be this week!

why haven't i had any cool mcat dreams like u guys..

here's to hoping that the scores will be out on the 12th and not the 13th.

In order to provide even more confusion but also provide something slightly new and promising, I am posting my response from the AAMC:

Thank You for contacting the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) program.

The April 2006 MCAT scores have yet to be posted. They will be available around the middle of June. The 60 day period will put you at the week of the 19th through the 23rd. The exact date will be posted on the web soon.

AAMC and the MCAT Program Office will use all available and reasonable means to mail scores by first-class mail to examinees approximately 60 days after each test date. Scores will be available in the Online Testing History system at that time.

Please let us know if you need any additional assistance.

The MCAT Care Team

(note: Bolding of text added by yours truly for emphasis)

What this says to me (which is similar to what other have said) is that the scores will arrive in the mail around the 60-day period but online hopefully around our currently predicted "middle of June" dates (12th or 13th). Also, my AAMC responder, as you have read, indicated that the actual date of availability will be posted online "soon". I am hoping that this is the date that the scores will be available online and not the expected date that we will receive them in the mail. More speculation, I suppose, but what else is new? 👍

I'm back from a 2 day SDN hiatus and getting back to compulsively checking this thread and THx.

Last night I had my most ridiculous MCAT dream yet. We were all gathered outside the AAMC prison (which apparently exists in my subconscious) for the score release. The prison is where they keep the scores during this 60 day interval. Everyone waiting for a score had to form a circle around the prison. A bunch of your avatars were there (I remember Anastasis for sure). When the AAMC wardens released the scores from the prison (Think numbers with legs), the "scores" were supposed to leave the prison and find who they belonged to.

The warden fired a gun into the air which was the signal to release the scores, and the scores all started yelling as they fanned out running from the prison. All of us waiting were jumping and chanting. A 25 started running straight for me and winked at me (!), so I turned and ran the other way, even though AAMC explicitly warned us to stay in the circle to prevent scoring errors. Problem was I ran so fast that no score ever caught up with me, so I found out I was going to have to retake the test. 🙁

Any psych majors wanna take a crack at analyzing this sucker?? Haha

Ha ha - Vin Diesel was chasing MCAT scores. I hope he wrestled down a big fat 45 for me.

Did I mention how much I hate the AAMC? I'm really fed up with this. Congress doesn't take this damn long to pass a law. what could they POSSIBLY be doing!?!?

I wish I was a minority that way I would only need a 27 or something and wouldn't have to worry about this test. If I got a 32 I'd be in the ivies I bet...

Ooh, ooh, can we have this argument? Can we, please? It will be so much fun! I bet we come up with loads and loads of original comments!!! And everybody will keep a civilized tone, and nobody will insult each other. It'll be great! 😍

OR NOT

I missed the rest of the conversation but Boy Meets World was one of my favorite tv shows. I still remember when I was little and family matters, fullhouse, and head of the class were the shows to watch.

 I think I have AA argument blindness because I totally breezed past that post the last time.

Like my unconcious mind is going: Race... oh hell no. Not touching that one.

We can do it people!! I know we can - so lets pretend this post didnt even appear. This has been a relative cool thread no need to increase our stress level with this. Its been battered in other threads lets just keep this one cool.

So has anyone called AAMC lately?

Few things: AAMC hates me I called the number on the website and it said it was disconnected. hahah it's a sign. then i came home and my good luck on the mcat poster had crashed to the ground along with the nail that held it. everything else in the room was in tact. plus last night i had 2 MCAT dreams(first ever). 1st one i got a 40 and people were calling me begging me to go to their school with full rides and stuff. the second one was in an auditorium and i got an envelope and opened it and i had a 26Q plus everyone around me did better and kept asking what i got. it's been a sad sad sad day man. i'm just gonna choose to ignore all the signs.

It will be so nice to get scores, whether good or bad, just to be able to RELAX. Talking about MCAT dreams/nightmares on SDN is funny; when you're actually getting them- not so funny.
Let's just be done with it and move on with our lives!

This is the MCAT thread. I'm just speculating that if I was 25% African American the State would hook me up.

Trying to torture premeds!!!!!!!! Seriously though, that is a question for which the answer remains a history. However, in a few months when the first acceptances roll in this day will seem like something you'll laugh back upon. I always find it amusing to see how different a few months post score release make in a person's life.

But I wish you all the best of luck as the less then one week countdown begins!!!!!!

Did you mean mystery? If not, I'm really confused. 😕

I had a meeting today with the Dean of Admissions at a medical school and they said that they had also heard that MCAT scores would be released Monday or Tuesday of next week, the 12th or 13th.

Soooooo you all should just postpad in the last few days of this thread just to see how close to the 10k required to close a thread we can get. 😛
