In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I also called the MCAT office just now to confirm the date. A man picked up and mentioned that the scores will be released either June 12 or 13th during regular business hours.

So here's the info I have so far...

1) The scores from the 4/05 MCAT (don't know on what day it was administered) was released 6/10/05.

2) As far as I know, the past two release dates (for 4/05 and 8/05) were Fridays.

3) We can check THx midnight (EST) of release dates, which means that West-coasters get their scores around 9-9:30.

...I hope this means that scores will be released Friday (6/9/06) and viewable around midnight EST. :scared:

1) No—6/15/05

2) No-WEDNESDAYS

I just called the MCAT adminstration and they said they are pretty confident that the results will be released on:

Monday

or Tusday of next week!

However, Last year AAMC posted an update on their site 7 days prior to release (June 9th) that the scores would be released on June 16th. Assuming they post an update 7 days in advance, the earliest we would expect the scores is 14th (if they posted an update this afternoon). Hope the 12th is right though.

 I wonder if THx will jam up when the scores are released so that it takes forever to load because of so many people logging on. Even worse ... what about SDN?!?!!
SDN will get clogged up, but it probably won't shut down. the Thx server will let you refresh as many times as you want, and then all of a sudden the scores show up. Last august it wasn't slow, but I think the april test is a larger sample size, so who knows.

I heard that there wasn't any notice a week before the August score release... But I might be wrong...

Yeah, anyone know anything about that? does that make the scores trend higher or lower or anything?

Typically the April test is smaller in number. For a couple of reassons, people are studying all summer and feel they will do better after that and the other is that people are getting really close to finals or having midterms and they do not feel ready to take the exam. This is by hearsay and speculation you understand? And I typically drink a lot towards the time scores are being close to being release. So with that being said, I need a scotch!! 😍 "Mmmm....mmmm...that's good scotch! Scotchity, scotch, scotch", to quote Ron Burgandy!

As far as score trending, I'm not sure and have not really heard, there is always the genius that blows it for everyone else with a 45T.

My first post. Seems like I'm a bit late to the game eh? Still one week is good, tomorrow even better, now would be best.

Any fellow CS majors here? I think I'm actually more tense about the programming assignment grade than the MCAT. But we'll see. I pledge three shots of vodka for a good score. Anybody like to pledge more?

Be Zen 'til then. 😴

Good.... Good....

So this means the 12th is the most likely date for me to go on a suicide watch or become a complacent and arrogant jerk until I apply for med school and get nervous again.

Is anyone else like me in that if you get above 35, your arrogance will reach its acme as it validates your superiority towards not only regular beings, but also regular premeds?

I think I will worship myself and build an idol if I get above a 35... maybe even start a religion like Joseph Smith.

May be we should call to MCAT and ask when they will update-- MCAT Testing History (THx) System .

I don't think I'll be joining you guys on drinking before the score release.

I almost succumbed to alcohol poisoning abouta week ago and pledged that I'd never drink alcohol again in my life.

I just started questioning why I drank at all.
There didn't seem to be any benefits from it...

Yes. I already feel superior since I'm an engineering major. A 35+ and I'll replace Chuck Norris' name with mine.

Actually August has more test takers. Or at least that was the case last year. I think last year there were about 6000 more people who took it in August then April.

I also wanted to let you know that before your scores are up, the data charts for the distribution of percent achieving certains scores and subscores will be up.

It will be up in the same area where the data sets for 2005 are up and won't yet have a link on the front page.

But it will be up before scores itself.

I see.

See I'm not as vain as you are, because unfortunately I plan on changing my major from bioengineering to a seemingly cake cell biology/biochemistry major.

After all these years, I have finally admitted that I'm not a math person.

A high SAT math score apparently has no bearing whatsoever on one's competency in that area.

Actually there were more like almost 9000 more people who took it in August last year then those who took it in April.

To be exact and I looked this up.....

The number of people who took it in August were 37,669 and the number who took it in April were 28,764

So the actual difference in N was 8905.

I actually went back to that link for another reason so that I could see if this years data is up but it is not up yet. However, the day of score release, the examinee data is generally up before the scores itself. So when you see the examinee data up you'll know it is almost time for score release.

So this is pretty sad, but last night I had a dream that I checked this forum and someone had started a thread titled "They're UUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPP." (with that many U's and Ps also) I didn't even think that I have been thinking about the MCAT scores that much lately, but I guess I was wrong.

Good Luck everyone :luck:

There was a notice before the August score release...not a week before, but the day of (10/14/05). The message said: "Thank you for your patience. The scores will be loaded tonight"

and then you could access the examinee data for our exam during the day before scores were posted.

then, they changed the message to: "Thank you for your patience. The scores will be loaded tonight, but probably close to midnight Eastern time (certainly not before 10:30pm)"
and then they actually did come out at around 10 PM.

I was kidding, like 20 ppl on SDN have already confirmed it in the last few days 😀

Oh ok. Sorry I don't get to be on SDN all the time except when in the lab or at campus cuz I don't have a functioning computer. 😛

wow, i didn't realize there was that much of a difference!

I'm not sure how it worked out for people on EST, but several people on PST have told me they got their scores around 9:30 PM on the 13th. I assume that's technically Friday, the 14th EST?

See my above post!!!!!!!!

It definitely had a difference by 8905 people. That was the exact difference in number.

I speculate that the reason for it being higher in August then April is that people have the whole summer off to study since they don't take a full load in the summer. So there are a lot of people who wait til August to take it. Additionally those in 7 year programs or those who like to take it right after taking their prereqs try to take it at the end of second year, and that often means August. Finally, a certain percentage are retakers who are taking it after getting their April scores.

So add these 3 groups together and you can see why there are a lot people who wait til August.

Of course that's just speculation on my part. 😉 😉

it depends what office you call. the 21-23rd is the "offical" answer

22 and 23 would be AFTER a full 60 days. Seems fishy to me. Maybe just a disgruntled employee screwing with you. Hey, why don't we all apply to get jobs at AAMC instead of going to med school?? Or maybe if our scores turn out to be really low. At least we might be able to make a positive change for future applicants

Probably refering to when it comes out in the mail. It comes in the mail abouyt a week after it comes online!!!!!!!!!!

Someone said in one of the other pseudo-countdown threads that they were also told 6/12 or 6/13 by AAMC, but also that it would be during normal business hours. Thankfully I have constant computer access at work so I can keep checking, but this also means that I'm going to have to compose myself in front of all my coworkers when they do come out. Either good or bad it'll be hard to have an audience so nearby...

Why don't we forget about the countdown and figure out a way to hack into the AAMC database! We can change our scores too!
