***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I just called the AAMC. I got on the line with some caring, young lady in her 20's. After I hit on her for 10 minutes, she told me that scores would be posted by tonight. She said a message will be up on the MCAT site by this afternoon about the scores being up tonight. I sat there in disbelief, but she reassured me that this would be the case...

*puts finger to tip of nose* NOT IT!!! =) I just got back from the dentist and cannot speak clearly due to numbness.

On a side note, that was the most painful mental nerve block I have ever experienced. And normally I think my dentist is terrific!! It felt like a splash on the left half of my tongue and then like it was being cut apart with ginsu knives. And that was just the "numbing" lidocaine shot! Anyone have that kind of pain with a shot before??

Well if they said 12/13 that'd indicate that the scores would be released either last night, 11th 9PM for us pacific time people or 12th 9PM, tonight.

I'm still keeping my hopes alive.

WT* - I hate these inconsistent answers - we should just bombard them with phone calls until they release the scores NOW! They clearly have the scores already... Why are they NOT releasing it...??? We didn't pay $210 to put up with their bloody inefficiency...

I feel like I'm wasting my summer because I keep wanting each day to just be over ASAP so I can get the scores. I can't wait until this is over and I can actually enjoy each day while it lasts...before I know it, I'll be heading back to class.

whatever... i'm still checking every 2-3 hrs today. the second i get my scores, im leaving work and taking the rest of the day off. this could be to celebrate, grieve, or sit in one place with a numb expression on my face.

i had my first dream about it this morning (and i thought you guys were having dreams cause you're too intense... im one of you!)
i was sitting crosslegged at a japanese table with a friend who casually was talking about the summer, and she said "... and now that I have my MCAT score, i can relax!" i gasped (in real life, too, cause the gasp woke me up) and i sprang outta bed to check!

PS is it generally ok to talk about your scores on this website, or is it considered bragging if you happen to have a high score or something? haha... i hope that's something i will have to consider 😉

Hi all! I'm another one of those fence sitters.....been enjoying all the back-and-forth on the forum as I'm waiting for my scores. Still holding out for today or tomorrow--guess I won't really believe they'll be released on the 20th until midnight on the 13th comes and goes. Thanks for the comradery during the wait 🙂

IOWA: That's what we were originally told a week ago, but now we've been told that scores will not be available until the 20th.

ME: *crushed* OK. Are scores generally not avaible for 60 days? I was under the impression that they were usually released a few days before the 60-day mark.

IOWA: Yeah. That's why we were originally told the 12th or 13th. But it looks like the 20th.

At least the phone operators are nice...I bet they get a ton of calls from irrate MCAT-ers. Meh, now that it's official-official, I can focus on finals.

Haha the other day I was thinking about calling some other pre-med who was waiting for their MCAT scores.. "Hello, this is whoever from the AAMC, I wanted to call you and personally congratulate you for being tied with two other people for highest score in the country"

For the record, the AAMC doesn't actually do this. 😉 I have a feeling this site is going to crash once the scores finally DO come out....

I guess they were optimistic about their turn-around time, but it's just taking the full 60 days for a score release. Boo. 🙁

When I got my wisdom teeth out (both times - they did two teeth at a time because I did it as part of a pain study) they gave me a novicaine shot in the roof of my mouth. It was, without a doubt, the worst pain I have ever experienced. Talk about your instinctive reactions. I jumped my legs up into a fetal position and started crying. They yelled at me for moving. The second time was an exact replay, even though I was prepared for it. I'd say it was a 12 on the 0-10 pain scale. Does the pain scale make anyone else nervous? I'm always afraid I'll give the wrong answer.

You may think this has nothing to do with the MCAT, but I think we can all agree that the MCAT is all about the pain. On a scale from 0-10 where 0 is no pain at all and 10 is the most pain you have ever experienced, how much did the MCAT hurt?

This pain would be best described as:
A. Cutaneous
B. Somatic
C. Visceral
D. Neuropathic

Looks like the man is in control of these poor MCAT operators, puppets for the 'elite' administration up above. We should rally, and tell them to stop toying around with our lives. People must've really been slacking grading, either that or they has been a record amount of mcat takers across the country this year, which I dont think is the case. Looks like June 20th is the official date. UGH.

Kind of chilly in my testing room, actually. I'd say the MCAT itself was probably only a 4 because I had been mentally preparing Ninja-style. Think Kaplan Green Dot versus Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maitenance. I'd like to think I was semi-numb to the actual MCAT sensations.

So, after ruling out A and D, I'll flip a coin and guess C.

Man, the roof of your mouth!!!???? OW OW OW. I'm very chicken about sharp pain but used to withstand longer amounts of low-grade pain (think endurance sports or injuries) in the past.

They don't tell you that you got the highest score at all, unless you ask them. But FYI, I enjoyed reading your screenplay. It seems that a lot of med schools put on little skits, and you are clearly a budding writer for your future school's skit night. 🙂

Did you call and ask if you got the highest score? My practice tests were high, but not THAT high. 😉

I ALREADY went to sleep-away camp... when I was 9-13... do they really make med students do SKITS? I'd rather play a nice game of cranium.

No. I sent them an email after I received my score and asked how many people scored 42, 43, 44, and 45 during my test administration. (The stats rounded down to 0.0% at that point, so you don't know anything from the report sheet except that it's the top 0.5%.) They wrote back and told me that there were eight 42s, two 43s, and no 44s or 45s. And that was how I found out, a month or two after the fact. No cameras, no balloons, and if my friend and I hadn't been curious, I'd never have known. My score report doesn't look any different than anyone else's who already posted theirs for you guys to see.
