In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

BTW, i'm a newbie here and i's from CAL. :luck:

Welcome aboard. If you have any questions just ask GujuDoc or BrettBachelor  They may not be mods, but between the two of them I think you will have all your bases covered.

I bought a book called "God's Politics" all about how the right has kidnapped Christianity. (Okay - I won't get political here.) Then I really need to finish the new Wheel of Time book (okay, not so new anymore). I wanted to start the Elric series by Michael Moorcock (yes, that's really his name.) Plus my boyfriend is a huge Asimov fan and I think I need to read the Foundation series so we have something to talk about

God's Politics sounds pretty interesting, I might have to pick that up after the pile of 4 or 5 books I have on my desk. What sucks is, is that most of us tend to just keep on buying books because we know they are interesting and they just keep piling up.

Moorcock is his actual name......to bad its not Asimov Moorcock--that would be one intense name.

nothing like a good round of finals to take one's mind away from impending life-altering judgment.

Now if it makes you feel better, after tomorrow there will be 7 weeks left to go. In other words 1 week down.

has anybody else looked several times at the AAMC site just in case? 😛

Only everyday, juuuuust in case

A former classmate told me he used to check his score every night until score release. He ended up with early mid 30's.

Maybe anxiety is a good sign.

I had none last time (took 1st MCAT last August) and didn't check scores until weeks after they came out (I didn't even know when they were supposed to come out! Ha).

Well now I am flipping out. On here all the time. Doing anything I can to make the time go by. Praying ALOT. I hope anxiety will increase my score!

I think I do well on verbal because if an English degree isn't good for a decent verbal score on the MCAT, it isn't good for nuthin'.

You always had it in you, Ms. SAT Verbal 😉

I'm soooooooo going to have fun telling you guys "I told you so" when you get your scores and they are wayyyyyyy high!!!!!!! I just thought I'd throw that in there because Teerawit and Oxeye have me laughing at their underestimation of their abilities along with Anastasis.

I'm new here too. I definitely woke up on Sunday feeling anxious and depressed. I'm starting to feel better but I keep thinking I might have made stupid mistakes...

Anyone else perpetually worried?

Welcome to SDN to the both of you. If pre-Allo scares you, don't worry it scares everyone.

I've almost gotten to the point that I'm just glad this whole process has started moving. As a non-trad I was tired of waiting around for it to start... so I can't relate to perpetually worried but perpetually anxious, yes.

 Everyone says that I shouldn't fret about my verbal since I speak two languages at home, but I went to school here my whole life lol. I think Im just an idiot

BTW--I think it just might be MCAT verbal I did pretty well on my ACT and SAT 😕

The MCAT verbal is a different kind of verbal. It's not analogies and vocabulary. It's all reading comprehension. So if you have problems reading quickly or concentrating when you read, then you might have biggers problems with MCAT verbal as opposed to ACT or SAT (I'm just surmising about the ACT as I was hungover when I took it and don't remember much.)

I'm non-trad too. How does AMCAS deal with graduate school grades? Do they factor them in to the your GPA?

My understanding is that grad grades get a separate column on AMCAS. Not averaged into undergrad grades.

too bad.....all of my grad work is science. grad school curves are very nice 🙂

You know the sick thing is....AAMC prolly has scored our answer docs already 😱 how long could computerized statistics take??? 😳

Don't you want a WS grade? C'mon, the WS is the most important part. They need to time to carefully read all of our essays so that they can give us all the most accurate WS grades possible. It's SO important for Medical School admissions and selecting future doctors, you know...

I just get so annoyed with Verbal because I always do well "decent on all the passages." I just can't get that 4 or 5 passage phase where I only miss 1. I always seem to miss 1-2 per passage (usually get 40-44/60). Stupid Verbal

As long as I can break a 30 I think I can breath :luck:

I bet they just let our tests sit in the basement of some factory in Iowa and wait till mid June to run them. Those bastards. :meanie:

No way, they sit there going through the questions one-by-one, laughing it up. "Haha this ******* didn't know Bernouli's Equation -- Give him a 4!" or "Kids today, how can they not know what an epitope is? On MY MCAT, we had to MAKE an epitope." That's why it takes so long.

After reading that entire passage it was funny how we only had to recognize what Bernouli's Equation was, and after studying all those antibody-antigen complexes etc--what is an epitope

I really want to meet an MCAT writer, see what the hell that person is thinking and what drugs they are on.

 I don't remember that one. That sounds like something from the SciFi Channel---mix that with the protostar passage we have a star trek script as our PS section....

We must have had different forms. What would be so wrong with the AAMC starting the PS section with an EASY passage-sort of like a warm up?!!!

Yeah, I do the stand alones first too, but still

I wish we could have 3 life lines: ask the audience, phone a friend, eliminate 2 choices
