In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I got that same e-mail saying that they'll be released 6/7!
That makes me nervous!

I've been having nightmares of getting a 25, 26, 27, 28, 29.... 😱
Please make it stop....... :scared:

To add to the fun, my cousin just got accepted... Imagine if next year rolls around and (God forbid) I didn't get in.... OMG!!! 😱 😱 😱
I think I have to go cry now...

Don't worry Vivian, I'm sure everything will work out fine. No matter when our scores are released, we should keep in mind how many hours upon hours we put into studying for the beast, and be confident we did our best. Try not to worry about your score now because almost all my friends and TPR profs guessed their scores wrong after the test (mostly they underestimated).

Hang in there, we are getting close. If scores don't come out on the seventh as TPR promised, I think someone will sue them

At least we can expect an update on THx by the end of May or early June 👍 . That should clear things up...hopefully.

For the amout of work we put in and the cost of this entire process, I think we at least deserve weekly updates of the status...anything but this... 🙄

That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. No, seriously, it does. Then, of course, I think about the people who did 5 points worse than their practice tests. Damn! I swear this test has made me manic! So, I went 30, 33 on the MCAT 8 and 7 respectively... anyone want to wager what I got on the real one? I'll hedge my bets and say that I got <30, that way if I do well, I'll pay out with a smile. If I don't do well, I'll at least have some cash to get drunk with. Anyone?

OK, sorry, double post here. I feel you though, and I feel as if I should be studying hard for August. Maybe after my finals though. Care to wager $20 on my MCAT outcome? 😀

Can't believe there are pages and pages of countdown stuff!!

Glad I am not the only one.

Ugh. I sent in my transcript request but need to put my grades in AMCAS....bleh. I am trying to do anything to feel like I'm moving forward..but it feels like no time is passing!!

😛

 I know exactly how you feel, it just seems like time stands still sometimes.

Anyone else going through the minimum maximum cycle?

Well well....29 days according to TPR and 44 day according to the AAMC. The life we live, the struggles that we encouter....I guess its the persistence and devotion we have that allow us to trek on.

Sorry, guys, but Lee has asked us to keep the number of stickies at a minimum. I think that guju will make it her mission to ensure this thread doesn't fall off the top page anyway. 😉

I added a new sticky for test prep course ratings and opinions in the hopes that if we get enough people to rate their test prep methods, we can cut down on some of the "which test prep method should I do" threads. That will really help organize the forum. So far I have threads for Kaplan and TPR live classroom courses, but I'll be adding some more for other courses, EK self-study, Kaplan on-line self-study, and AO self-study. So for those of you who took a live course from Kaplan or TPR, the MCAT gods will smile upon you forever if you would take a few minutes to post about your experiences for future students. Also, if any of you think there are other test prep methods besides those five that I just mentioned that are so popular that they deserve their own threads instead of being lumped in with "other," let me know.

Thanks, and good luck to y'all. 🙂

Man in regards to starting to study for the aug mcat after just taking the april mcat - For some reason I can not bring myself to study for it. It's weird. Maybe because I know that chances are I won't have to take it again, but that's not to say I'm 100% sure I did well. I thought PS was hard, but I thought BS was ez. While I may do better next time on PS, there's a good chance the BS will be a lot harder.

The whole test is graded on a curve so if you thought PS was hard, chances are others did too so you might end up with a great score.

I hope this is the case because my real MCAT seemed harder than any practice test that I took. On the other hand, the nerves made me work faster so I actually finished PS and VR, which on the practice tests was a challenge for me. I guess all we can do is wait.... 🙁

oh that Q, she's such an awesome organizer! 😀

i was a little shocked at the un-stickiness, but it's ok, we post enough on here that it'll be up on page 1 most of the time

hey are you guys waiting to submit your apps until the scores come out or are you gonna be brave and do it june 1. some days i wake up thinking i'll definately wait and others i'm like june 1 baby. the consant inaction is driving me crazy!

on a side note, once finals are over how do you guys plan to pass the time?

I'll wait to submit until I have my score. The EDP program where I am applying has a minimum MCAT score so I don't want to look like a tool if I score less than the minimum but already submitted.

Well, since I won't have my PS written until July, it's an easy decision for me :scared:

If you ever can't find it, go up to the MCAT sticky goodness thread; I linked this thread in there. 🙂

The only time you should submit an app right away before scores come out is if you are an August MCATer because then it will hinder your chances by waiting unless you get like a 33+ and have some amazing ECs.

For people who took the April exam, there is no issue in waiting it out the extra 2 weeks because your app is not even uploaded until after July 4th by medical schools, and interviews don't even start til September or late August at some schools.

So you'll be fine.

i saw that too...good one! 😉

i am not submitting at least until i see that (hopefully good) score on Thx. here's keeping my fingers crossed.

but at the rate these essays are going, it might be closer to the end of june...

Bump Bump Bump it up!!!!!!!!! Come on everyone, let's bump this thread up!!!

Ok enough of the silliness.

Its almost midnight so another day has passed. Dr.vanostran is keeping us up to date, surely since I lost count. Bad guju bad guju!! 😛

This thread rules. Seriously, I read it more than I would like to admit. I feel better knowing there are other obsessive-compulsive people like me, waiting to find out their MCAT scores....

Once it's here, I won't be able to look.

Just wait. Eeeek.

Tsk Tsk 😉

We are getting closer peeps...28 days according to TPR and 43 days according to the AAMC!

Someone will have to update this every night until Saturday or Friday, I will be on Ohio for the next few days, the fun I will have 😀

Take care everyone!

Ahh the quarter system is wonderful. While you semester students are finishing finals and not so anxiously awaiting 5 weeks of thumb-twiddling at the mailbox, we hardy folk of the quarter system have midterms and finals to keep us occupied until D-day zero hour. That having been said, I still compulsively check for a score. Who all out there nightmares with me about the scores? I actually did something out of a dream on test day. Like an idiot, I thought the perforated edge of the writing answer packet was some exotic seal. So, i dutifully ripped it off. Then all my pages fell over my desk and I had to tell the proctor, uhhh, I just destroyed my exam.... It could have been worse though...

i'll try to take care of the next few days and then you can take over again...i'm going to pittsburgh this weekend for my friend's wedding reception this weekend.

i will try as much as i can not to check Thx until the day scores are expected. i hate looking on there and seeing my old scores 🙁

Nope - anyone can apply. But just realize that TX schools (except Baylor) are required by law to take 90% Tx residents.
True, but at the same time, non-Texans still have an OK shot of getting interviews since there are considerably fewer OOS applicants to compete against.

Anybody feel like calling AAMC and asking about June 7th? I already did, but got two contradicting responses.

Don't worry, you can admit that you really secretly check it at least once if not 20 times a day each day.

Just kidding with ya. 😉 😉

In all seriousness, though, I do know people who checked it every night until score release.

 i was talking to my friend last night and she said she checked it 3 times a day every day in-between when she took the test and when scores came out.

i am actually going to refrain and not check until i hear they've changed the message.

I had my first MCAT results dream last night - I got a 42. 😱 Must be from the thread I posted in yesterday about Gaylord Focker's 42 (from Meet the Parents).

It was funny. The website didn't have results yet, but there was a radio station you could tune to and the announcer was going through everyone's name (all 30,000, LOL) and saying their score.

Teerawit - you were in my dream too. You got a 41. 😀
