***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

word, same here. i don't like seeing the old bad scores, so i'm not checking until someone posts on here that they've changed the message. hopefully fresh GOOD ones will come soon!!

:laugh: I am the opposite, I check everyday not only to check for an update, but to remind myself of my old crappy score.

It's been a while but I had another MCAT dream last night. The dean of my school called me and told me that I got a 33R---but heres the wierd part, the Med School admission process was sort of like a match process and I got matched to the University of Vermont. So instead of being excited I was being a little Jack A$$ complaining that I have to go to Vermont and that I wanted to go to Loyola.

When I woke up, I was just thinking to myself, I would LOVE to go to Vermont. :laugh:

I'm gonna go check out the UV home page right now 😍

I keep imagining that I will want my husband to look and tell me, just tell me, if it adds to 30.

Me: (Covering Eyes, in a high-pitched squeal): Does it ADD to THIRTY or more? There should be THREE numbers. ADD CAREFUL, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!

My Husband: (adding silently)

Me: ADD CAREFUL DAMMIT!!!

My (poor, sweet) Husband: Yes* or No** (Depending on the result)

*If the answer is Yes I will start screaming and demand to see the score immediately.
**If the answer is No I will start screaming and demand to see the score immediately.

I am thinking that I am too much of a control freak to let him do this but I have been known to be the kind of person who waits....and waits....and then can't f*!$#ing look herself. :laugh:

I've a stupid question. If i turn in my application in the mid of June, is it considered to be late? I'm still in the process of writing my statement... so i don't know it would be ready or not... 😕

Hey guys, so i was wondering if any of u all took the CBT in april. I am takin the MCATs in august and was confused about takin it paper pencil or on the computer. Which one do you guys think is better? Thanks 🙂

I always meant to ask, why so many schools? I wish I had that kinda funds.

Well its pretty simple, I will most likely be a borderline applicant with my April MCAT scores. I am anticipating between a 28-33, hopefully a 30 😕

This will be my last time applying to U.S Allopathic Schools, I will most likely add a few Osteopathic Schools and SGU (I already got in SGU, but decided to reapply to US schools). As for my stats, I will be very lucky to interview, and at this point I feel like its a crap shoot. I might get lucky at one of those schools, I do not want any regrets come next year. I just might end up getting into a school that I never thought to apply to before.

Unlike a lot of people, I don't have the luxury of applying to schools that I just like, I just want to get in 🙄 I know this will be an expensive process, but this is the only way that I will feel like I tried my hardest 🙂

I hope that answers why so many schools :laugh:

Not to worry DVN, I, too am hitting up something like 32 or 33. I just sold the Ducati in my avatar to finance the whole process. Scary how much of this process hinges on my MCAT score. I sure hope TPR is correct about their release date. Cheers.

You go Dr. VN! I'm applying to 16 schools. Seriously, as soon as you break 10 schools you're breaking the bank.

And it doesn't mean you have to send secondaries to all of them. Once you have an acceptance you'll be more selective, right?

I'm sending you positive thoughts for a 30+ mcat score.

PAPER!!!! I totally vote for taking it in a format you're familiar with! I mean, I have never taken a computerized test (except for polls and random things like that). I love being able to take notes, write things out, circle things on the page (especially passages for MCAT verbal) etc. To the best of my knowledge, this isn't possible on the computer. not to mention I prefer to read things in paper than on the screen. JMO! GL!

For those of you who wrote the AAMC about that one titration problem on the past MCAT, did you ever get a response?

Now I am in double limbo. I have to wait for my MCAT score AND the final grades for my last postbacc classes. I already know I got an A in Calculus II, and I am pretty sure I made an A in Stats 1, but the class that really matters, Orgo 2, could go either B+ or A-/A. And then the MCAT: who knows about that? Do AAMC practice scores predict your performance real well? I felt completely different taking the real exam than I ever did taking practice tests. My brain was swimming and I felt generally used up by the end of that thing.

All the work I have put in... I don't know how I will react if the MCAT comes back low.... 30+ please. 30+ please!!

On the AAMC practice exams I got a 27 on 3R, 29 on 4R and 34 on 5R. My MCAT course intructor said that the AAMC exams are good predictors of how you will do on the actual MCAT, and in his experience his students do within +-1 point on the real MCAT after taking various AAMC exams. I would just collapse on the floor and die if I got a 33-35 score, but I'm just hoping that I get a least a 31.

The pressure of test day probably helped you focus your energies and give it your all. I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with a mid-30's score. Good luck!

Hang in there everybody, only 17 days left!!! But my life is going to be kind of empty if I get a good score. I'm applying in the next cycle, so until next May I have nothing to look forward to 🙂 (except for the Colts season and the expected playoff defeat).

Sigh, the wait is killing me, I can't really decide on school's until the MCAT comes back. Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way. This thread is like a support group. 😉

The wait is killing me day by day... I am filling the AMCAS ... i m not even sure of what will be my score. :meanie:
I have one more question to you guys... When you guys filled out the work experience/ activities section, how do u do the work experience explanation part? We can fill up to 1325 characters, but i want to fill less. Can i get an idea of how you all will do? 😎

Also, we can't make separate paragraphs in our descriptions, right? I tried, but it automatically lumps all my text into one paragraph.

Hey, I was just wondering where you got that date? I am going crazy waiting for this score, like most people on this site. I thought the date was June 22 though? Only 17 days would be sweet!

There's a bit of a debate going on if the release date is june 7 or june 22. TPR said JUne 7 however AAMC seems to be saying 60 days so right now most of us are counting down to both days. June 7 would be nice but I wouldn't count on it.
