***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

Yeah, the walkways are on the side and lots of people jump. From what I remember, putting up barriers was voted down because people (understandably) didn't want to change the appearance of the bridge. They put lots of phones by the walkways instead so people could call some hotline if they were feeling suicidal. 😉

This was all back in the early 90's though - things are probably changed by now.

lol i remember those phones on the bridge!! they look really old and seem like they dont work. i bet there will be a few ppl on the bridge on score release night.

Well that makes sense. All the nice people from the early 90's must have put the phones up and then jumped when they didn't get into med school. 😉 😛

6 days according to TPR, 21 according to AAMC. Perhaps less than a week remaining, though I am sure scores won't release any sooner than June 14. :clap:

Man, I'm gone for 2 weeks and there are just about a bazillion posts on this thread.

I think I've given up on the TPR release date. The earliest that the AAMC has hinted at was the second week of June, and also between the 14-16th. Not to mention, it seems odd that they would open the application up only 2 or so days before they released scores.
And so the waiting continues...

Quick question.
Can you submit the application for processing with AMCAS without getting your score or do you have to wait until the score is in to submit it ?

Yeah, I bet the first thing that you did when you got back was fire up IE and log onto here (SDN in general, and this thread in particular)

Well actually the FIRST thing I did was check to see if scores had come out. Yeah, cause that's SO MUCH better! :laugh:

Just talked to the AMCAS Today, June 1st. They said that the release date for the April MCAT was going to be around June 15, not June 7th which was the earliest date given by TPR.

Okay, so I called both MCAT center in Iowa and the AMCAS in DC...

The MCAT people said to start monitoring the THx website 50 days post exam. The 60 day mark is when the scores should show up in your mailbox.

The AMCAS is sticking with the "mid-June" release date. They really don't seem to know when we will get our scores. I specifically asked if the June 7 release date was too early and they did not say no. I also asked if there would be announcement and there will be.

I'm sure all of this might depend on who you talk to. At least the people I talked to were nice and didn't seem annoyed...

Who knows, sounds like the scores will be online before the 60 day mark!

From the looks of it the people everyone are calling seem to be just getting information now. I guess we should remember that we are talking at administrative staff not the actual "score releasers."

But Morriske and Dalas have seemed to crack them, good job guys. I think its about time to swith Thx to my home page :luck:

I have a very stupid question, i'm sure u guys will think me as a dumb ass.
Let's say I apply to 20 school now and submit the application. Later, I've found that I wanna apply 5 more schools, can I submit again? 😀

Vacation was great. I didn't think about my MCAT score once! Though I did bring back a bouncing baby headcold which is currently making me miserable.

Looks like we'll have to wait another two weeks. 🙁 Oh well - I've got apps and secondaries (believe it or not!) to work on.

Yup! There's a way to add schools after you submit but I don't know more about it than that.

For those who got actual dates/answers out of the AAMC, how did you ask about the release date? A friend of mine tried calling yesterday, and couldn't get anything more than "mid-June" out of them even though she asked specific questions. Maybe she just happened to get a not-so-nice person on the phone...

Yeah you keep adding schools as long is it is before the school deadline date. You just pay the additional 30 for each school as you go along. Good luck!

I caught a cold as well, I think its the changing weather patterns here in the midwest. As for secondaries, I have a few myself, basically the essays that I know will be sent out from schools I previously applied to :laugh:

Logically then I would guess we would either get them the night of the 8th or the night of the 12th. I would think we would get them a night that has business days on both sides, but that's only a guess.

She most likely got someone who had a bad piece of chicken on Memorial Day.

Several of the TX ones are online to be submitted whenever you submit TMDSAS. I'm working on Southwestern and TAMU right now.

We would get arrested for a public disturbance--then we would have to note that on our AMCAS--its just a bad chain of events :meanie:

You'd think if enough people are calling and asking, they would figure out that they should make their process more transparent, if only to save themselves the annoyance of dealing with us on the phone.

Hm, maybe we should all make a list of pseudonyms and get to calling...

Oh nice, if I do apply to the TX schools Ill only be applying to Houston, Galv, and SA since there are no secondaries required 😉

I agree. I think that is why they are just heading to Computer testing, people can wait 30 days with ease 🙄

Hmm... I'm tempted to call now and try and get some answers. I can post my progress on hear in "real time" (Yes, I have a Jack Bauer obsession) while I'm on the phone.

How was 24 this season? I plan on getting the DVDs whenever they come out. I became a LOST addict this year....
