***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I think these next days will drag on even slower than the past 40. So many decisions hinge on these scores! Does anyone know how much having a MS degree (or two) helps one's application? I am working on my second now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The person I talked to said sometime NEXT WEEK! 👍 They don't have a specific date, but she said that it would be some time during next week. I'm assuming that means between June 5th-9th. (Although if a previous test-taker knows of weekend releases, then please correct me on that...)

Ah! My heart is racing now! Hooray!!!!!!!!!!! The wait is almost over!

There are good and bad things about early release. Good things, you can plan... whether you need to take it again or what schools you should apply.
Bad things (at least for me), chilling moments are gone... I am having anxiety attack.

I thought it was better than last season. Some parts were a little lame, but the end was incredible.

Well, I guess TPR was pretty close then. I'm pretty sure it'll be toward the end of the week considering that before they said mid-June. Maybe the increase in CBT takers sped up the process.
Isn't it amazing how much hangs on one number? Crazy stuff.

The person I talked to sounded very confident that it would be next week. The website has always said 60 days... I guess they don't want to give out more info unless they're sure they can beat the deadline. Obviously I can't swear that it'll be out next week since unfortunately I don't have any personal connections at the AAMC. But like I said, she seemed confident. The conversation basically went like this:

AAMC: Can I have your ID#
Me: Here ya go. #########
AAMC: (Looks me up in the allmighty AAMC computer) Hello Zimmie, what can I help you with?
Me: Can you tell me when I can expect April MCAT scores to be released?
AAMC: Some time next week.
Me: (incredulous) Next week? Really? Wow.
AAMC: For the April exam? Yeah, next week. That'll be the second week of June...
Me: That's awesome. Do you know when a specific date will be posted online?
AAMC: We don't have a specific date but it should be some time next week.
Me: Ok, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Oh Boy! I hope that scores come out next week so I can get the pain over quickly. When the scores actually are here (whenever that may be) I was planning to cover up the computer screen with a piece of paper so that I wouldn't see my score just pop up. Now I think that I'm just going to look at the whole thing and get it over with. Kind of like taking of a really huge bandaid.

Haha, when I got my SAT results in the mail, I slid a piece of paper over them and moved it over ever so slightly, allowing myself to see only the first digit for both sections. Knowing the range I could then muster enough nerve to see the rest.
With the MCAT, I may have to do it section by section- just to spread out the joy/pain.

yeah, i was able to keep my nerves in check the last month and a half, but lately i've been remembering how ABSOLUTELY CRAPPY i felt during and after the test. i must have forgotten that part, and now it's coming back to haunt me. i wish there was a way to get into med school with out standardized tests! i'm screwed!

Above 35= 5 Beer Bongs (Natty of course) and 5 Car Bombs and then drink until dawn

30-35 = shotgun 5 beers and then drink until dawn

26-29 = Go to AAMC , spend another $200

25 and below = bottle of Jack and drink until dawn

MCAT lady: Yes, I understand. We are sticking to the 60 mark, which would be mid June.
Me: Really? I heard they might come out earlier.
MCAT lady: As of right now, plan on mid-june

It’s not really them. We have our own neurotic selves to blame. They say ~60 days and update the website when the time comes near. But people check the website compulsively and call hoping to get the good(?) news about an earlier release. Though it would be nice if they got their story straight.

I believe mid-june just because I took the August MCAT and the scores came out on Oct. 13th...August 20th test date...June 15th would be around them...I would love it if they came out on the 8th though...i am going to see WICKED that day, and it would be amazing if I got back from the show and my scores were up... 😀 I am always in a fantastic mood when I see musicals!

I gotta go with TPR's date. They are not going to just make up some random date in June and tell us the score is going to be released then unless they have even some little ounce of certainty that it is going to be June 7.

On the other hand, I remember when I took the August 2005 exam, the scores came out on like a thursday night around 6:15 pm Pacific Standard Time. So westcoast SDNers..

APRIL 2006 MCAT Scores are most probably going to come out June 6th around 9PM on the west coast!
