In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

If MCAT scores are supposed to come out on the 12th (tomorrow), what time would they appear in THX? Midnight? Sometime later in the day? Etc.

Thanks.

If only we knew...

Someone reported earlier that they were told during business hours on the 12th or 13th when they called. But I think historically they've most commonly been released in the evening.

I had an MCAT dream last night...it actually seemed like 50 MCAT dreams in one. But first, our scores were going to be released at 6pm in my dream, so I go to check online and the scores had to load. But they were loading like slot machine-style, which was driving me crazy. Then when they finally loaded, I had the worst time trying to figure out which score was actually mine.

Then I saw that there were two different composite scores: one that you actually got and one that you would have gotten if you had actually known more. I dont know how much more you had to know, but apparently the mcat people did. So anyway, then I realized that the 39 that I was looking at wasn't actually for me but I couldn't figure out how to log in to find MY score. Basically, to make a long story short, I think my entire night last night was filled with one long dream about me getting 15 different MCAT scores because I could never find the right one.

I thought I'd wake up today feeling relieved that it was just a dream, but I'm just so mentally worn out after it!

so ya ive been checkin this website for a year and i just decided now to become a member just for the mcat countdown lol and ya thanx for all the information u guys post its really helpful 👍

Mizrahi, weren't you supposed to have some important ppl in some important places that said the scores came out last week? 😀 😉

i suppose they were wrong...

Last night must have been the night to have them since I just had my first that I can remember it since right after the MCAT. I got the scores and they were a 33-34 (don't know why the composite was a range) and the breakdown was 12BS 11PS 10VR (also not sure why they came in that order).

What a nice dream! 🙂

Im interested to know, can someone really be this stupid?

Taylormade-

I'm interested too. Maybe we can figure it out some time.

I think I have a legitimate reason to wonder simply because I want my scores back. It seems more likely to me that I wasn't "being stupid" as you so nicely put it, I think my tone was somewhat more "incredulous" than "stupid."

Thanks anyway though.

Easy easy. He didn't mean stupid, per se. More like dense. And once you guys get to know each other better I'm sure it'll be fine.

On another note, I had my first MCAT nightmare last night. I've had the dreams where I'm somehow running around trying to get my scores, but in this one I started out logging into THx, calm as can be- only to see 4, 4, 4!! I was about to go jump in front of a train when I woke up in a cold sweat and my heart racing. Now I'll be even more afraid to check my scores! :scared:

It's OK. I just want my scores and don't like being stupid. Maybe I should have seen that it was BS, but at this point I'd believe that a Dinosaur swooped down and ate my scores and I won't be able to get them back until the dinosaur decides to regurgitate them (possibly up to 60 days).

I had the same MCAT dream the last two nights- 34s each time (no break down). Each morning I woke up, checked THx, and I was sad.

ok, i'll admit that i don't know what that acronym means, but i think it means "give me a break" or something to that effect. If not, ignore this message.

Don't be so quick to judge someone asking a rational question.

This was posted on Saturday night, and the scores were to be released on monday or tuesday? Unless we find out some more info about the circumstances, why would we assume there is some final ultimate report/logarithm/cracking of oracle bones to be accomplished in the last few days before releasing the scores? I hope they've been doing something this whole time... I didn't pay my $210 just to have some guy read my essays for 90 seconds.😀

Send me $50 and I can get the scores emailed to you. The head of scoring operations is my uncle. He has annointed me to follow in his footsteps as the covert scorer of all MCATssssssss. :meanie:

I know everyone is anxious, but please don't take it out on the newbies. There's not anyone here who hasn't ever asked a "stupid" question. For those of you who are new to SDN, definitely take what you read here with a grain of salt. 😎

So, April people, what's the consensus now? Scores will be on-line on the 20th, or snail mailed on the 20th and available on-line next week? (I don't know, and I'm not checking obsessively b/c mine have been up for almost two years now, so that's why I'm asking y'all. Don't read anything into my asking the question! 😉 )

I think Q is trying to tell us that she has the results! Or maybe that winking is due to the grapefruit juice in her eye (a la George Costanza).

🙂

From what it sounds like to me- in years past the DATE announced on the website is the date they are released online. Snail mail then gets to you a few days later, at which point you have already A)Blown all your money on an all expenses paid trip to Acapulco with you and your friends in celebration or B)Blown all your money on "drowning the sorrows."

Since just about everyone has some form of access to the internet, I think they count the 20th as the official release date.

 You people are simply incorrigible. I am going to go eat lunch now. Don't burn down SDN in the next few minutes while I'm gone. 😛

(P.S. This message is in code. Anyone who figures out the true message will automatically get one point added to each section of their MCAT. And you don't even need to tell the AAMC that you figured it out; they're omniscient and omnipresent, and they already know what you're thinking.... :scared: )

I don't think we've really reached a consensus. The less-resigned half of us are still hoping for online the 12th or 13th and mailed-out the 20th, and the less-open-to-crushing-disappointment half of us are counting on not hearing anything in any form until the 20th.

I'm in the wishful-thinking half, by the way. :luck:

Yes, I'm obsessive: I setup a firefox extension to continuously monitor the MCAT score main page and my logged in THx page for any changes. If they change, they set off a siren sound that will wake the house. 😛 😀

I've got nothing better to do, so, like the nerd that I am, I was looking at stats and calculating some things on my nifty cell phone. For 2005, there were 37,364 applicants that applied to an average of 12 schools each. Every one of them had to have taken the MCAT at some point.

I don't know last years fees, but using the fees from this year:

37,364 x $210 = $7,846,440
37,364 x $490 = + $18,308,360

$26,154,800

😱 That is a lot of money!!!

How did you do that?
I'd like to set that up as well.

I'd like to set that up as well.

1. Page Update Checker extension for Firefox
2. Downloaded some air.wav air-raid siren file off the net
3. Configured PUC to use that sound when changes are made
4. Logged into THx, then right-clicked and selected "Monitor for Updates"
5. Then left computer and web browser logged in until something changes, with the sound volume turned up really loud!

That is such a great tool.
Now I'm going to be checking so many websites and having alarms going off for various useless things everywhere.

Alright!!!!!!!!

With the amount of money they are making from the MCAT tests, it's no wonder that they hire such quality employees who work so swiftly.

hi all, i'm a newbie here 🙂 it's been great reading all of the comments! i think about the only times that i haven't been worried about the scores are during the world cup soccer matches. also, i can't wait until the USA vs CZE game tomorrow at 10am - it'll probably be the only time during the day that I won't be checking THx every 20min.

I am so happy to find an avid soccer fan. I haven't been able to do my literature review because I have been watching every game.

I heard that a huge low pressure system is massing directly over the Iowa MCAT offices, spawning numerous tornados which will inevitably carry our scantron forms to Munchkin land where they will play and dance around with them causing an inevitable delay in the release of our scores. Oh the humanity!

LOL I love that one!

Sorry if anyone thought I was being serious! I just got back from the bar when I wrote that and I felt like being silly! 🙂

I'm guessing that's the date online too, just because we'd be waiting one less day than the people that took the April test last year. I don't know why we'd be special and get it a full 8 days earlier than what last year's group got.

Silliness is always welcome!

I have finals next week.
Should I study, or keep checking this thread and THx?

Yup, obvious, keep checking THx.

Funny thing just happened. My air-raid alarm went off (thanks for the extension tip), I freaked out, fell off my bed, and got to my computer. But for some reason, I can't log into the testing history page. I originally had my computer save my name and password, but when I tried to log in, it tells me that there's a log-in error. Anyone else have this happen?? :scared:

[EDIT]: I was able to log in on my roommate's computer, but there are no changes. Maybe my poor laptop is starting to have a nervous breakdown too...

oh we are out there... although I'm mad that my team lost on friday and is effectively out of the World Cup on the first day 😡

I changed my mine about the score release.....I think they will be posted online on the 20th.

It just does not make sense to put that up on the site if they will actually be available on the 12/13 like some people are saying.....

My mom always told me I was special...but I guess the AAMC doesn't think so 🙁 Maybe I'm just special in a bad way.

Is it time to give up and do a countdown to the 20th? That would be 9 days. If anyone wants to make up a time, we could do hours. That might satisfy people like me that expect an update on this thread everytime we walk by a computer.

So...if we say that the scores come out midnight of the 20th EST, that's less than 221 hours from now (7:22ish PM EST)? I wonder if I can take a 220-hour nap so that I won't have to worry about this anymore. :scared: 😴

since i'm in a phd program right now, and not applying to med school this year, i've been completely out of the med school application loop. but now (after reading the thread) am starting to freak a bit about the score. up until now, ive just been kind of blissfully ignorant.

what i want to know is - for someone with a phd, two first author publications and decent-ish to okay undergrad grades who wants to go to ucla or usc med school, what kind of mcat scores am i looking at needing to get?

thanks all...

---> the captain

probably the same scores as any other matriculant- at least a 30, with perhaps a little leeway since you are phd and they love phds (higher analytical thinking)
so i woud guess anywhere from 28-30, with a 30 giving you a decent shot, a 28 giving you a competitive shot.
